Connecting Pentatonic Scales to Create Riffs and Solos on Both XYZ Records
มุมมอง 2K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! In another edition of "This Is How I Played That" ... I'm switching gears just slightly and instead of focusing on just one song or solo, I wanted to break down how I visualized pentatonic patterns, why I used this method and how it can be used to create a cool, fast effect in YOUR playing as well. #marcdiglio #xyzband #guitarlesson #pentatonicscale #guitar

So I recently completed one GIANT lesson going through the rhythm and solo parts of our song Inside Out from our debut album. I hope that it helps you in some way if you've been learning this song recently or even playing it for years! Enjoy! #marcdiglio #xyzband #xyzinsideout #guitart...

I recently had a chance to sit down with my friend John Talman from @sessionsolos and @jtalguitars to get to ALL the questions that fans were still curious about after our interview a few weeks back! Here it is, John and I tackled as many questions as we could in just under an hour. Thanks for all of the support and enjoy! #marcdiglio #askmeanything #xyzband
R&B Guitar Jam and We Accidentally Left Our Drum Tech in Milwaukee
มุมมอง 7728 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here's an R&B style jam I put together AND it's funny story time again as I tell another story from the road with XYZ. This time, a simple idea of getting donuts led to chaos and leaving one of my very good friends in Wisconsin on the last night of the tour. #marcdiglio #xyzband #rockstar #musicdocumentary #behindthemusic
How Jimmy Page's Blues Playing Influenced My Own
มุมมอง 6818 หลายเดือนก่อน
The great Jimmy Page was such a huge influence on my playing. I put down a track in the style of Jimmy Page Blues and then talk about what his style meant to me as a guitar player. Oh and hang out until the end for a funny story about our first tour and a stop in Louisiana on the bus where we were mistaken for someone else in a big way! #marcdiglio #jimmypage #bluesguitar

One-Take, Raw 5 Minutes of Guitar SHRED & Guitar Lesson from Marc Diglio!
Soooo cool to come across this today, somehow it actually made me happy, I hope you are well, greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
So great to hear these riffs again and so glad I found your channel
Dude!!!
I love your playing Mark always have. Thanks for this video, I'm gonna learn it tomorrow 🤘😎
Still one of the most badass riffs ever written
You were lucky man.
That was very kind of you to show us those sweet and very expressive licks. 👉🏽👍🏽🫵🏽
He is such a well rounded player. Love that the solo builds and is so fuckin melodic. Just amazing
The ballads had some of the most memorable solos ever and the rockers, well they just blew the roof off.
Great song and video
Mark thank you for your contributions to rock and guitar!
I'll never forget being in my car smoking a bowl and listening to XYZ in the parking lot of Moby Grape in Las Vegas and Marc, Pat and Mitch the road manager came up to my car and asked who I was listening to, I said XYZ and Marc said yeah, that's us. One of the coolest moments in my Life. Thanks man.
Marc and Doug Aldrich were and are still a couple of my favorite players. Along with George and King Edward
Marc, I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never heard this song til early 2024. And I was like- WTH??!! I watched a lot of MTV back in '89. lol. Not gonna lie- Thuindersteruck is my all time favorite song, but this riff and song rank right up there with it. Thanks for the new memory for me.
Marc, what amp and pedal did you use on XYZ Hungry album ? Sound is insane :)
😮😮 I’ve tried so hard to to do that part with my fingers..now I see why I could never duplicate it.😂
This Gentleman ….is just Amazing. Enough said.🎸❤️👍🏻💪 What a Legend Marc is.
Hi Marc! Glad to see you here on You Tube, i love XYZ. Hope some day you can do a video playing "When i Find Love". God bless you, man! Cheers!
Love your playing Marc, I was lucky enough to have bought a sunburst Gibson Les Paul that you owned once !!! 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Marc, Hugh here from Canberra, Australia, I was fortunate enough to have bought your old Sunburst Gibson Les Paul a few years back, I still play it today, what a guitar that is. Love your playing by the way, hope you are well maestro !!! 🙏🙏🙏
Don't how I missed you guys in the 80s. But glad I found out. Love playing this. So fun
Such great guitar playing on both albums, and I still play them. Thanks Marc.🎸
BRAY 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻✌🏻👍🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻👍🏻✌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻WHAT MODEL IS IT???? PLEASE
Great story Marc!
Just XYZ? XYZ smokes NKOTB😂😂😂
Such a gem of a song and guitar parts. Thanks, Marc! From, Utah.
Excellent!
I love your playing and have been a fan for years. Can you breakdown the main riffs and solos to "When the Night Comes Down"?
Thanks Marc
LOL wth... "Just" XYZ.... I would pay good money RIGHT NOW in 2024 to watch you guys play again. I can sing maybe one or two NKOTB tunes but.... Where are they now? 😂
I know EVH was and still is THE role model and idol for not just Marc but probably millions of guitarists out there but with all due respect and gratitude to EVH for being such an inspiration, I realised that I enjoy the solos of more musical and melodic players such as Marc here, Vito Bratta, Michael Sweet, and Downing and Tipton. Please don't flame me that's just my own personal preference. EVH is still THE one who started the fire no doubt about that. ❤
In the 80s I listened to this song and also When I Find Love everytime when I was alone on the night bus home after a long day of mugging for my exams. Just PURE mastery of music and feel like nothing I've ever heard. Still listening to XYZ in 2024. Thank you for such unforgettable memories! ❤
Marc's playing, be it rhythm or solos, always had that special flair and raw energy in them. I just can't put it into words. 😂❤
So cool thank you so much. Could you show Nice day to die riff and solo ? It will be very cool
Wow that's so awesome. 😂❤
Rock n Roll yeah! That's so Pat 😂😂😂
I was totally HOOKED by the way you fill up a song when I first heard the XYZ album. You are AMAZING! ❤
dude, are you fixing televisions now? dear mother of god, i hope not. too much talent not to play : )
Great playing, great tone. I dig that amp. I've never tried a Bray before. What pickups are in that Talman? Looks like Duncans, but what models?
Only 3500 views and 200+ likes? C'mon this is great. Thank you Marc.
I got kind of close with a Randall RG -80 and a Kent Armstrong Grinder humbucker for the Hungry tone. I would like to know if the humbucker used on Hungry was a Duncan Custom? or = PRS HFS? - it just does not sound like a JB.
Fuck me, your tone (and playing) are so good brother! Im looking at Jtal guitars and A 50 watt Bray now. My wifes gonna kill me. Ha!
Awesome!!! Definitely that kind of thing!! Awesome guitarist!!!
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PLAYER FOR XYZ, I WISH YOU COULD DO ANOTHER ALBUM WITH THE BAND.
absolutely fantastic. thank you so much for your contributions to rock music!!
Hey Marc. May I ask what pickups are in the guitar sir and what you used back in the day to record with in your yellow Charvel if you remember?
Very cool man. You are one of my favorite guitarists from back in the day.. Very cool fretboard work sir. ❤ I subscribed. Now I can steal some of your killer licks brother. I just built a new strat with 22 stainless frets on a Warmoth maple neck with maple fretboard. I'm a big LP guy too though❤ I watched an interview and in it you said you didn't use the red Charvel in those tracks. 😂. Good looking Charvel though. 😂❤ Thanks again man. God bless brother. Regards from South Central Indiana. USA Tim. Today is my birthday and I'm 63. ❤
Man, I can't thank you enough for sharing your playing with the masses again! You have been one of my all-time favorite players ever since I bought the debut XYZ cd as a teen when it first came out. I used to sit in my room for hours on end, rewinding and playing parts of your solos from the first two albums (cassettes) learning all that I could. I actually wore those tapes out, lol! I was lucky enough to see you in concert back then at the Adler Theater in Davenport, IA. and was even more blown away! I still jam to those first two albums quite regularly to this day! I always hoped to hear more from you. So glad to see you well and still playing just as amazingly! Love this slow blues jam too! If by chance you see this, I really want to thank you for the music and inspiration. When things would get bad at home as a kid, I would retreat to my room and play along with those tapes to mentally escape what was going on. Your music was actually helping kids like me more than you can imagine! So again, thank you!
Love the guitar parts you did on XYZ and HUNGRY. Still 2 of my favourite albums of all time! Nice to see you're still layin' 'em down in the best tradition! 🎸
🤘
