Does this connection work for UL as well? Pe1 line to 8lb fluorocarbon?
Yes I only use it for light lines. Mainly PE 0.6 & 0.8.
I wish I had these skills!
were about at patto is this?!
Next to the water
Not the Patto
where is this dam?
It's on private property
There's nothing "improved" about this. You made the knot worse
Thanks so much for your feedback, appreciate it.
Thanks man, this is a great idea. My biggest issue with this knot originally, is how the braid can get hung on the fluro tag end, or it getting caught up in the tip. This fixed those issues 👍
Glad to hear it, I had exactly the same issue.
Why do you put tape on the spool?
To give the braid a surface to grip onto. Otherwise the whole spool may turn during use if the braid isn't well anchored.
nice
was it in the bush or in some city park
Bushland
nice video man, i was wonder where about this is? You dont have to answer< keep going mate!
Scotchman's creek South East Melbourne. Gardiners Creek is another great spot for carp.
@@thequietfisho thanks man I really appreciate it!
@@thequietfisho it’s a really small creek couldn’t find a spot! I don’t get where your fishing, I may if went to the wrong spot
just subscribed and just wondering where abouts in mornignton doesnt look like the big pier
It looks like Davey's bay Yacht club
Cool vid. New subscriber here. Keep up the great work and tight lines
Thanks mate
is this better than nasci?
The main difference is the Miravel body is made from carbon fiber and therefore it's a much lighter reel than the Nasci. Otherwise they're pretty much the same.
got nasci today. sounds the same and rough they normal?
Easiest knot video I have found. Thanks, I tried to tie the fg knot and I can't get that one.
Glad it helped!
@@thequietfisho excuse me sir, do you think that I can use this knot in salt water with fishes like "barracuda, Sierras, Agujas, etc. (Basically fishes that have sharps teeths)
@@thequietfisho and last thing, do you think this knot IS enough for fishes of 10 kg Max
@@PabloSuaDel yes of course you can
@@PabloSuaDel yes if you are using strong enough line. for 10kg fish use line of 25lb or heavier.
Same reel in Canada is 150 lmaoo
Wow, very expensive!
Who has 7 mins to tie a knot when fishing?
Lol, it's a tutorial video
Wow very good my friend ok 🥰😍🤩
Ok thank you
Good old patto
The perch wouldn't take a lure with so many bait fish on offer
Now I regret not fishing when I was out there.
Next time!?
Is this not the Carrot Knot ?
Hadn't heard of that knot but had a look and they're similar but different.
I don't like the extra stuff at the end b/c it makes the knot thicker.
But it casts better...
@@thequietfisho I don't mind the half hitches at the end to taper the knot. I just don't prefer to make a half hitch that spans the length of the knot. If it works for you though, that's cool. I like to do half hitches just on the end to taper it.
Interesting as I've been having issues with the fluro leader getting caught, hopefully this will solve it. Appreciate the tutorial, tight lines
i really don't think you're making an improvement beyond adding an extra wrap at the end for the traditional "improved alberto." you've greatly increased the profile of the knot, added a loose piece of braid. i use the alberto from time to time. strong knot. best strength over FG is how quickly you can tie the alberto. if you need a lower profile knot you can go to the fg. it's as low profile as they come and it's stronger. here, you're adding time, adding volume to the knot, and i can't really say i trust its ability to protect my knot or reduce the damage done to it or the reduction of casting distance through the guides. i would be curious to see if you figured out a way to get the tag end of the braid onto the other side of the knot without going outside of the knot. like a rizutto or a snell.
All I know is this improved knot travels through the guides smoothly now, no more hang ups on microguides from the leader tag, that's the point of this knot. Casting distance has been improved as a result and I haven't noticed any issues with strength.
in theory I totally get what you're shooting for here, but in reality there was a bit of a struggle to finish off the fancy part of the extra half hitches while being in a controlled environment (would be appreciably harder while on a kayak or boat or just on the bank in the wind). might as well tie an fg knot if you're going to go to that level of modifying an alberto knot.
I tie it in the wind all the time, it's only 3-4 half hitches and easy to keep tension on the line. Like anything else a bit of practise makes it easier.
@@thequietfisho but you struggled in the video in a controlled environment…
@@JoeScear sure but I'm shooting a video in one take and trying to focus on about 4 things at once! I'm sure you'll agree half hitches aren't hard to do.
Hi, Is it VIC or NSW?
In Melbourne (Vic)
I come from Florida and lived in Glebe for a while. Since I do a lot of Bass fishing here. When I would walk down by Blackwattle Bay I always wanted to try and fish to see what kind of fish was in the Bay. Never did get a chance by I am Glad to see your catch. Keep it Kickin Brother
Thanks dude, yeah there's heaps of bream in there and a few good flatties. The fishing looks amazing in Florida!
I've been there once, i heard water there is polluted and should not be consumed.
Sydney Water flush sewage into the bay during heavy rain events. It's a pretty disgraceful and disgusting practice.
Thanks for the update Couldn't you show how you change it?
simply unscrew the old one to remove it. screw the new one in by holding the spool above your head and balancing the new clicker and spring on your screwdriver. watch here: th-cam.com/video/PSPbUpSixc4/w-d-xo.html
@@thequietfisho thanks a lot 🐟🎣👍
Good update.
Thanks Terry
could have the link for the better drag clicker?
I had to order it over the phone directly from Shimano.
Nice fish
what side of patto is that area in?
Bonbeach
Great stuff. What lures do you use?
Mostly soft plastics but this fish was caught on an Ecogear ZX40 blade.
Hi mate, i noticed you picked up the rod with your left hand then kept switching it over to your right, probably because your dominant right hand is stronger and you have more control ??
You're very observant. I had to use my right hand as well as left when it went on the really hard run. Then I used my right only once I had it under control probably because I'm right handed but also because the fish was on the left side of screen and using my left hand would have blocked the camera view. Also my net was on my left side and I had to pick it up eventually.
@@thequietfisho nice answer 'quiet fisho' 👍 still cannot get my head around people holding the rod with their non dominant hand, 😵💫 .. i can remember Rex Hunt trying to educate on the merits of controlling the fish with your dominant hand and just winding with your less dominant hand back in the 90s, alas he wasn't successful 😕
that makes sense for bait fishing, but for finesse fishing it's the other way around as you often have to very carefully position the lure by retrieving it at the right speed and this requires the dominant hand; at least it does for me, most of my fishing is done with light lines using soft plastics.
@@thequietfisho met a die hard Aussie bass fisho who said the problem with swapping hands all the time is when you cast and the lure hits the water, thats when the fish sometimes hits the lure and he kept missing the bites so he swapped from right to left hand wind and his strike rate improved straight away and just felt natural when he mastered it 😐 Hey, its whatever feels right but 90% of the world can't be wrong 🤷♂️
@@petercarter6086 I don't know why anyone would cast and then swap hands, that's just silly. and it's amazing how 90% of the world can be wrong 😉 That's probably why the American's have their excessive hook sets that rip the cheek off bass. I've seen some horrible photos of bass injuries from dominant hand hook sets. The easy part is holding the rod and setting the hook, anyone can do that with their left hand. The skill in finesse lure fishing comes from using the reel to position the lure perfectly and part the right action on the lure, and imo is best done with the dominant hand. Each to their own I guess.
it would be better to use a unhooking mat next time as putting the fish on solid ground damages there scales and could cause serious injury or, even death, good catch!
Mate these fish get killed, they're an invasive species in Australia.
Mate, we have invasive species of fish in England but still treat them with respect, especially carp. Nice fish though
This reminds me of talking about some big carp at The Gem
Great hit and fight.
I have the same reel and I agree the sound is pretty uninspiring. If you do get a response let’s us know as I’d be keen to upgrade too. To be fair on your point about the Ci4 and Stradic Fl yes they sound better but when they were new they were priced $200 dearer than the Miravel. Even my Shimano Sedona sounds better than my Miravel though 🤣🤣
Very true the Sedona sounds great. Yes the Stradics are more expensive but their drag clicker has been around for years and it should have dropped down to the Miravel imo. Putting an entry level clicker into a $185 reel (RRP $229) is not giving your customers value for money.
@@thequietfisho fair point mate 👌🎣. Let’s us know if you have any success as I said before. 🤙

Nice haul 👍. Been chasing reddies once or twice a week and nailed a 41cm ripper the other day. So much fun when they are on the bite.
Nice work Geoff!
Hey bro love your vids where were you fishing at
Thanks Alex. This video is in Rozelle Bay.
I got a 50cm salmon, and dropped a huge flattie here while I was living in glebe temporarily. Even hooked onto a pinkie with plastics. Never know in the sydney harbour what you'll hook up
There are some very good sized flattys in that area. Lots of bream in my limited experience there. I always stay in Glebe when in Sydney.
@@thequietfisho I had to move out bro so many cockroaches at the place I was staying at 🤣, although the streets there are pretty clean and always an opportunity to fish around the bay.
That first reddie had 7 stripes. That’s pretty uncommon 👌🎣
Good observation Terry, I hadn't noticed that.
In case you find it helpful. I clean up in dams like this using a zman baby goat with a jig spinner attached. Instead of a straight back retrieve, I drag it with the rod, wind up slack, then repeat. When you wind up slack it pauses/drops for a moment. It's been a slayer for me
Thanks Geoff, I'll give that a go. I really need to start using jig spinners.
I’ve had a yak in there before, absolutely cleaned up
I'll have to give that a go!
Nice work lad, would you get a little cheap kayak in there. You’d smash em out. 🎣
yes i think it's possible, it would make life a lot easier!
