I think Belmont is the perfect place to be if you're trying to go into the music industry! Its definitely a competitive area because most people want the same thing, but I think that Belmont definitely helps TONS with connections and information about the music industry that you wouldn't get somewhere else. Tons of the professors have experience in the field and love what they do, and the networking at Belmont is unbeatable.

@@alexasings that's amazing, I've done so much research into this school, I've read all the articles and seen all the videos. My dream is to have a job on tour with Chase wright after college graduation. Hopefully Belmont can help me get their.

Hi! Congrats on the interview! I recommend wearing something business casual. If you have anything you bought from Tillys or is a brand sold at Tillys I recommend that! A casual dress with vans or sneakers would be cute!

I personally loved it! It was my favorite part of the job. Id say the worst part is the pressure of getting people to sign up for rewards. But most cash registers tell you exactly how much change to give!

Good Luck! The jobs rotate around each shift, but I'm sure if you talk to the manager they can try to keep you away from ringing as much as possible!

Hi! Thanks for watching and congrats on your interview! You could go either way, but I was always taught to stay away from jeans for interviews! I think I wore a dress, jacket, and cute boots to mine, but there's nothing wrong with jeans and a stylish top! But if you have a unique style, I say go for it and show it off! If you have anything from Tillys that would be appropriate to wear, that would be cool too because it shows you were a customer first before applying!

Wow that's awesome! They must have really liked your application. I'm sure there will be training if you're interested in the management position! If you want it, totally go for it! But don't feel pressured to take a higher up position if you don't want it.

​@@veronicaibarra2861 not a bad company, but i work there now and think there are a lot of better places you could apply to. the hours are iffy, and you have to deal with karens and holiday season rushes. you get punished as a cashier if you get a string of people unwilling to give you their email so tillys can spam them with coupons that only work online for them to come in and try to use and then bitch when we cant apply them. the cash wrap system is ancient probably 30 years old and takes about 1-2 minutes to load everytime you click a button or try to search for an item (oh, but the CFO just bought another 30 million dollar Bugatti). they do "extended shifts" meaning your MIGHT work 12-5 but its on there in black as a separate shift from 5:30 to 9, so they can randomly choose to "extend" you and make you stay an extra 3-4 hour with a 30 minute break. (they never tell you if they need you to stay until right when you are about to clock out, so basically on weekends or anything you waste 3 hours after your shift since you can't make plans and need to basically assume you are staying). you can't kick customers out after close so people can walk in 30 minutes after you close if other people still haven't left and you need to stay until everyone is gone. the discount is pretty decent but everything at tillys is already super overpriced so its still not great since you can't apply it onto anything already discounted. finally, the COVID clean is fucking horrible. you are forced to clean after every transaction (COVID has a 1 in 10,000 chance of spreading on surface from contact, half the time the customer doesnt even touch the counter), you have to deep clean the store every 3 hours (touching things nobody touches either like???) and they watch the cameras and if you miss one little thing you can get written up. overall, you can find a lot better places to work especially in retail.

@@veronicaibarra2861 the companies whole priorities are out of whack. they just bought our store brand new phones yet the cash registers are 30 years old and everytime you need to go back or undo something its a 5 minute process and searching for items or placing an online order is 15 minutes. oh, but we have an iPad to lookup product with no tags. makes 0 sense

Hi!! Congratulations on getting an interview! Thats so exciting! My interview was a group interview, so I'm assuming that's how yours will be too! My biggest piece of advice for group interviews is to make sure to have your own answers to the questions. Try not to just say "yeah I agree" to everyone else's answers. If you truly do agree with someone else's answer, say that you agree and then expand on why you agree! I also suggest not being afraid to be the first one to speak up and answer the questions asked! Also, don't be afraid to ask questions! Employers love it when you are interested about the company and the job and thought of some questions to ask. Hope that helped! Good luck!!

Oh no! Don't regret it! Worst comes to worst you just decline the job if they offer it to you and you don't like your location! I don't want to say specifically which store I was at for privacy reasons, but it was outside of Cleveland Ohio!

Hi! I don't know much specifically about the music ed program, but I'm friends with a lot of music majors! Music is definitely a big part of the college & is something that Belmont is known for! The community is really awesome! One of my majors is songwriting which isn't in the school of music, but I was still able to take a choir and become friends with so many music students! For the most part everyone just gets along and wants to help each other out! Good Luck!!

@@mollycatherine3773 I absolutely LOVED it! I was in women's choir which was so nice and the professor was AMAZING. So kind and caring and you could tell she loves what she does. Everyone was so supportive of each other and it was just such a good time. I also got to be a part of the Christmas as Belmont filming which was on television!

Hi! Congratulations on getting accepted! Although Belmont is expensive, I think it is DEFINITELY worth the money. I absolutely love it here and its in the perfect location for networking and internship opportunities. Almost all of the professors LOVE what they do and have industry experience and thats something you won't get at other colleges. As for the religion aspect, totally! Religion is not pushed on you at Belmont. While many people are super religious and will express that, you aren't ever forced to partake! You will have to complete well core credits in the spiritual category but its only 10 credits and they're actually pretty interesting!

Yes! I would definitely go into the store and talk to the manager. Its great to put a face to the name and make a good first impression! Usually when you do this, jobs will pull your application and put it on the top because now you are more than just an application, they've actually met you! Good luck!!

@@lizvs4412 They ask a lot of questions about your personal preferences! Why you want the job, your favorite clothing brand, how long you've shopped with tillys, etc!

@@lizvs4412 Yes! Mine was a group interview, but I'm not sure that all locations do group interviews. Volunteer to answer first if you have an answer, and try not to just agree with the others interviewing, but offer insight of your own!
