It's seriously over priced.

Promontory...overcrowded and overbuilt. Your "gorgeous view" today may be blocked by a condo tomorrow. Cultus Lake? You can't get in or out of there during the summer...if you move here, expect a 1 hr+ drive to town from May to October. Garrison Crossing...the "walking-distance" thing is relevant because there is nowhere to park a car. The homes are so closely spaced that you can probably hear your neighbour sneeze. Chilliwack in general, is growing faster than its infrastructure can support and there doesn't seem to be any plans by the city, to improve this. The emphasis is on packing as many people as possible into the smallest space available, good for the revenue...bad for the citizens who have to deal with the lack of vision. The entire township stinks of manure 10 months of the year and the traffic is unbearable.

How about the air quality in Promontory, especially the manure smell? Many people complain about it living in Chilliwack. Is there manure smell in Promontory? If so, how long? Actually I am thinking about moving to Promontory from Surrey and like a new house around Crimson Ridge, Promontory. But I worry about the air quality and manure smell in this area. Could you give me some idea as you have been living there 15 years? This is very important for me to make further decision. Looking forward your response and thanks in advance.

Are there any factors besides the distance from downtown Vancouver that contribute to the lower housing prices in Chilliwack compared to other cities in the Vancouver area? I have not heard any complaints about safety, schools, or other issues, so I am curious about the reasons behind the price difference.

Hi Trevor! I really love Nature and someday I would love to buy a home here in BC. Maybe a townhouse. I am planning to explore some places and Included in my list is Mission, Chiliwack and Abbotsford. Among the three which one would you recommend best? If i like rivers, mountains and beautiful scenery? Also Prices have gone up in Vancouver, Surrey and Langley so I prefer those with still bit lesser price. Also do you know any trusted developers around Mission that is currently has ongoing properties for Presale? I hope you could give me some light. Perhaps a townhouse would be great. and whats the usual price for townhouse on Presale around Mission Chiliwack or Abbotsfort? and which would you recommend if i want a bit lesser price but still can enjoy the beautiful natural beauty?
