I made the analogy specifically to be off putting because of how disproportionate it was as a response to the situation, Pirate's been the cool kid in the nerd space his whole life and the first time he's not seen as the cool guy everyone looks to for guidance he freaks out and goes for the big red button. I did specify that if it is in fact a bunch of people going out of their way to start shit those should be removed, but it's not the case here. This is a case of Pirate being toxic, refusing to talk amicably and insulting his guildies (to the point of badmouthing the whole guild for being drama farmers even though he does the same thing, he's only mad cause now he's on the receiving end of it). This is a matter of most everyone thinking he was in the wrong and rather than taking a step back and going "hey, I don't think I was in the wrong, but everyone else does, agree to disagree" or maybe even consider they might have a point he doubled down and escalated each time. Appreciate the well thought out comment.

He was banning people who were harassing him (fine) but also threatening to get the streamers he believed were responsible banned on twitch and battle.net (not fine).

Ego is a normal thing when you're a streamer that routinely pulls 10s of thousands of viewers (how could it not) but the issue is that Pirate's ego very clearly extends to realms where it shouldn't. Pirate acts like a rank 1 mage and now we've seen he doesn't know how to play his class at all.

@Antykill_ so for me. If I would tell my followers to go and spread toxic behavior I would think that would be wrong. Ultimately it's toxic all around. Everyone was toxic .

@ Except none of the other streamers did that, he just said they did, but there's no footage of anyone doing that. So now we just have Pirate's paranoia.

It's fault playing with him in the first place under the pretense that he was a good mage.

As a frost mage he had a dozen abilities which, if used even half as competently as he claims to be able to use them, would have likely saved the situation, regardless that's not why people were upset with him. He refused the very concept that he could have helped, refused to talk to people properly and refused to approach the situation with any amount of humility. His entire hc wow run has been built on the back of "I'm a better mage than 99% of people" and then he can't even click his buttons. Also yea, Yamato was cringe, no one's disputing that, but Yamato admitted from frame 1 that he didn't use his abilities properly, as did Ozy (the tank). The only person who claimed to have played at their best was Pirate.

@@Antykill_ I don't know, sure doesn't look like either Yamato or Ozy said it was their fault. The way that specifically Yamato acted, looked like he tried to shift blame away from himself completeley and unto Pirate. Not fangirling over Pirate here or something, no idea if he is good at the game or not. And the debate wasn't about his proficiency at the game anyways. Looking at purely that one situation only. It just feels strange that everyone is hating on him immediately. Simply seems to be over the top and out of nowhere. Just speaking from the position of someone who doesn't watch either of those two people play WoW, so maybe we can just peacefully agree to disagree :)

Damn, it's almost like it's a relevant topic and I didn't want to just jump on and talk about it before everything had happened and I could have an informed opinion. Also if everyone's saying the same thing, maybe they're right?

I don't disbelieve that he's gotten harassment, death threats, the works. Mostly cause every single streamer gets them whenever they're in a situation where people are mad at them, I've gotten a fair few myself and I haven't even been in any drama. At the same time, his response has been to: - refuse the very concept that he could have helped during the dungeon run (not that he had to, just that he could have) - insulted the people trying to explain the situation to him - blamed his guildies and threatened to get hurt their careers if the harassment didn't stop, even though they're not actually responsible for the harassment I don't feel bad for him, mostly because he brought every part of the situation down on himself by his terrible handling of the situation.

Yeah I feel like the analogy could have been much closer to reality and still serve his narrative. It's interesting that literal death threats are shoveled into "not even bullying just shoving" and reporting people for breaching ToS is compared to bringing a gun.

I mean, yea. I can only really share my opinion on the topic. I think Pirate escalated the situation every single time he talked about it by insulting and demeaning his guildies, then by insulting and demeaning the viewers and then by continuing to insult his guildies and finally by threatening them. Maybe the analogies could have been different, but this is the equivalent of high school drama and Pirate is one of the most popular kids in school that is suddenly getting pushback for the first time ever and his response is to escalate as high as he can go, not to mention it's not like it's the first time he's shown how thin skinned he is.

@@Antykill_ this was a much better argument, and I think you are completely right. Personally I think most of the issue comes from miscommunication. Like pirate says "from my perspective in the situation I didn't think I could have saved them" and the rebuttal is from some streamers "that's factually wrong". This is an absurd notion that the other streamer would know better what thoughts was inside Pirates mind than himself. that being said obviously he could have (and should have in my opinion) more clear on what he could have done differently when he admitted that he (everyone) could have played it better. I think your analogy is actually quite good. I'd probably say it's an expensive private school. And most of the kids do playful shoves and some of the kids do death threats. Instead of a gun, Pirate says "my uncle is the principal and anyone who does this sort of stuff is going to get kicked out". Now this is quite ambiguous because does he mean only the death threats? (which definitely should result in being thrown out). Does he mean the people who were standing on the side and laughing/encouraging? (I think it's debatable whether they should be kicked out or even punished. but obviously if there's proof that they overtly broke the rules there has to be consequences) or does he mean that everyone who even shoved him playfully is going to be kicked out of school? (which is clearly overkill). personally I think he intentionally left the 'threat' very vague, so people would be afraid to even shove playfully. This is understandable I guess in the moment, but in my opinion it is deplorable that it is not at least addressed in a later statement. I hope this makes sense for you :)

Nooby take. The mobs went around a corner which grouped them up. A level one blizzard on the corner slows all the hyenas. A frost nova on half the mobs, a rank 1 COC on the others also does the trick. Frost nova cold snap frost nova the other pack... etc.. He had countless options to save everyone, and probably could have done so with one hand on the keyboard. Regardless, this isn't even the point. It's the lack of remorse, arrogance and the antagonization of everyone that is why Pirate is getting memed on / hated on. Does he deserve the hate? Absolutely not. Does he deserve the memes? Absolutely yes.

And the tank pulled in another mob on the run out. So many mistakes, so that means who was at fault for the WHOLE team messing up? the idiot who called run three times then called them back then called them to run again.

Oh, I love this game. I just don't like not having a compass in hardcore mode, and the other stuff was just general complaints that I'm pretty sure most people had about KC:D. I don't know if those same faults are in KC:D2, but if they are I doubt I'll play it, I think if the dev's idea of "realism" is just "inconvenience" it becomes wildly frustrating to deal with.

Worse, the game treats you like you're braindead.

I've finished the normal playthrough and wanted the achievements, it wasn't fun though so I quit lmao.

I have 100 hours in the game. I already finished it once. I just don't like not having a compass in hardcore mode.

1. I expect the horse to be able to climb over minor obstacles that a human could clear with ease. 2. The problem is that the game actually seems to unpause a second before the map disappears, so you can get turned around easily. 3. I don't mind no map indicator, but no compass/not knowing which way is North (which a peasant should be able to figure out on his own) is fair. 4. Even on normal difficulty, all enemies can master strike, which is silly. I'd be okay with most enemies knowing how to parry, but master strike should be for those who've had formal training (ie. high level enemies). 5. Because most bandits are peasants who picked up a weapon and decided to go rob people. Some are what's known as robber knights, and those are more skilled. 6. I didn't. Henry had to learn master strike because it requires a certain level of finesse and experience. When you fight a peasant with a club, that peasant should not have the training or experience to do a master strike. 7. The problem isn't that the horse bucks me off, it's that the horse bucks me off before I even have a chance to react to the danger. One time I shot a bandit from across a hill and the horse bucked me off before the guy was even 30 feet away, it's stupid. Horsemanship affects you, not the horse. 8. I intend to. I also like the game, but a lot of decisions that were made for "realism" aren't realistic, they're just annoying. Thanks for the taking the time and being civil.

Completely agree. This is a gamer who expects games to hold his hand, not hold him accountable to his own actions - including his ineptitude in controlling the mount. This is not a simple game where you need to do shit in a specific order. It's a game where you are meant to experiment, fail, learn, and work out why you failed. The game is meant to be authentic to life - and thus does exactly what it sets out to do - not be fair. Sure, you can see this as a glitch, but if you want a horse to navigate obstacles in real life, you have to train it to do so, or at least to give it the space, time and commands to respond to. It's not going to carry you over a jump just because you want it to. Horses balk all the time. They're fucking terrifying to ride well - and often kill even experienced riders by throwing them. IMO this is one of those moments where gamers were too used to the idea of a horsey being responsive, object aware, and incapable of disobedience. The reality is they're retarded, oblivious of everything that is a danger, terrified of everything that isn't and are about as obedient as the wind.

The world is a complex and scary place.

My issue wasn't the horse going off track, it was the horse not clearing an obstacle that was knee high for a human.

​@@Antykill_ jesus christ be praise. It works when you jump properly. Sure, the horse mechanics aren't perfect, but compare it to the horse mechanics in RDR2, which came out the same year. They had 1,600 people working on it, compared to KCD, which had 250 people and was their first game as a studio. RDR2's mechanics are much better than KCD's, but even then, it's still not perfect. You'll still get stuck on obstacles that are clearly avoidable if you just ride your horse recklessly. But hey, you do you at the end of the day, hopefully you'll have more fun with the second one coming !

@@Octavus0325 I'm comparing it to itself. The horse can't get over minor obstacles and that's a problem which I find frustrating.

I stopped playing it because it wasn't enjoyable. There being no compass is a dumb decision, most anyone who spends a lot of time outside can tell which way north is and the same should happen in game. It's ok to criticise good games when they have bad qualities.

@@Antykill_ If you can tell then why need a compass. It's a pointless criticism when most of your complaints can be solved by just changing the gamemode. It becomes malding instead of critique

@@pickinoneishard4998 Because you can't tell in game as those same signs you'd use in real life aren't properly translated into the game, not to mention most people don't have that skill, but Henry certainly would. And sure, you can say "just change the game mode" or "just don't play the game" but I don't know a lot of games that are successful after taking that approach towards criticism.

@@Antykill_ Well majority seem to enjoy it so simply being annoyed about nitpicked things that are a complete skill issue is just funny is all. KCD2 is already going to be huge and I don't think a single person but you are worried about compasses lmao

@@Antykill_ ... The signs you'd use are very well translated in game. I finished the game in both normal and hardcore - the only difference being that I had to use the sun, and "wait" screen to figure out the time of day and position of the sun. Have north easily. Night time? Use the constellations.

@@fasteddyuk except Henry isn't just a blacksmith anymore and dry compasses were a pretty common item throughout Europe for around 200 years at this point, why not make it an item you can buy? Also compasses aren't nautical instruments, you're thinking astrolabes. Appreciate the love though.

@@talaniel my issue isn't that hardcore is hard, it's that it's boring. By taking away certain features (mainly the compass so you can't tell which way north is) telling which way you're going becomes annoying and not engaging. Like solving a puzzle except you don't have all the pieces.

@@Antykill_ yeah, I think you basically said that in the video. I just see "hardcore" differently I guess. But to be fair, the last time I played any hardcode mode was in Diablo II 20 years ago :-) I am too much of a casual player nowadays. I just thought that the "compass" issue you have is probably one of the things I would enjoyed actually in the hardcore mode. Anyway, I think hardcore implies that some frustration should be expected.

@@Antykill_ oh noo the game on the hardcore difficulty doesnt show waypoints and doesnt give exact GPS where i need to go or what i need to do :((( Maybe use brain and look at sun position + visual reference points that are all over the place and you can see them on map to determine the direction.

Yea, I pretty much climbed to SS rank at the time of the video with either BVO and a tank build focused on rockets and missile launchers. I'd be fine with it if the netcode wasn't booty, cause then at least you could dodge lasers and stuff.
