Sounds like the sister song to the 23rd Turnoff demo "I'll Be With You".
chils evry time.
Always loved this version. Kieth Relf's voice is perfectly haunting.

😊
Overcool n unreal, baby ❤❤❤
Is this Kirkby on merseyside
Nice groove ✌️💙 great tune
Killer !
I don't really want to write a lot about bands that have been and are being ultra-spoiled and promoted by commerce like hardly any other band, but unfortunately I have to say that this version doesn't come close to the Stones version, although it is definitely interesting and has its qualities because The Attack were a first class band and their other material put a lot of the Stones material into the shadows , but not this song!
I agree
GONNA be a big star gonna go real FAR ... wow that is SO Beatles-ish
I think the name of the comp album was called Maximum R&B.
Simply Excellent!

U CAN ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING NEW READING COMMENTS "BEE'S KNEES"NOW....TO FIND THE RIGHT TIME & PLACE TO SAY IT REALIZING I MAY B ASK NEVER TO COME BACK OR CHASED OUT!!!??? HUMMMM🤔🤔🤔🤔
Que?
They cut off the lead guitar solo too soon....😂
Vocal interplay between Joe Marooth & Campbell. They did appear on Finish TV but slim chance that survived.
Way to go man! A much better version. Many thanks to who posted this.
This version better sounds better than the Pink Floyd version.....and Syd Barrett wrote it. I definitely like Pink Floyd. But this versions got a harder beat to it. Good find man! Great Record! Thanks for putting it out. I've never heard that one before.
This blows away the original Stones version!
I’m starting to question if the Stones wrote all their own material. Lot’s of information in this regard has slipped out, especially as the ‘ players ‘ involved are coming to the end of their time. If this was on Decca, was it produced as a demo for the Stones to copy. If you look at the documentary of the Stones in the studio working through this song, could they of been learning the song and not creating it as previously thought. Pressing test versions of songs for more well known artists was the industry norm in the 1960s and this may be one. Food for thought !
@@archstanton3763it is also quite possible that Brian Jones didn't "accidentally" drown either. Jagger and Richards wanted him gone and didn't want to give him any credit and were both jealous of his talent.
RUBBISH
Why would this have been the one/only example of delving into such a dark subject by the Attack, if this was one of their songs? Any other examples of a very dark side of their compositions? The Stones had them in abundance!
it's good
By Alex Harvey from Glasgow, Scotland. An acetate from 1966, produced by Phil Solomons.
Cool as
THANK YOU SO MUCH, VERY GOOD VIBES❤❤❤❤❤
The snare drum sound on this 1966 unreleased Mod Beat Acetate sets the standard for all snare drum sounds in a recording studio. The engineer on this EMI UK recording should get an award.
I cant get no satisfaction...thats the crime.
This would appear to be Alex Harvey Record: - (Unreleased at the time acetate, appears in the Dig The Fuzz Records compilation “Revenge Of The Amphetamine Generation” [1997])

Great track. Thank you!
Great !
Extended intro and original vocal take
Real grower. I so wish more Kirkbys material had survived. I read they had a bit of a following in Finland - that may produce something as a lot of Euro nations are gradually putting their radio archives online. A Johnny Kidd set is claimed to be in one Swedish archive.

Hello Gary! Nice Upload:)
Great upload. Excited to see where you go from here.
This music is the BEE'S KNEES!!! Rock at its finest. This transfer sounds far superior to a standard studio remaster mp3.
This song brings back a lot of memories for me. I just wish I had that blue red and white comp album I bought in the late eighties.
I had this song on a comp with a blue, red and white target on it.
I hope you find some unreleased vinyl records or composition demos from Danny Hamilton in the 60s.
these seem to be from CD compliations of unreleased discs where an acetate exists, but he hasnt got it. Modboy1 does have acetates - about 10000 of them bought from a music publishers library- they get sold off in 10 a week and audio snippets posted on YT
@@highpath4776I can't find his TH-cam channel to listen to the acetates.
Great channel. ✌️
You top man! Thanks for the info. I knew it had been comped, but I didn’t look deep enough or else I’d have found it. I need to change the title. Thanks again..
Actually, this song by the Kirkbys is on 9 different comps and was released originally on RCA 1542. Hen's Teeth, Rubble, Mod Meeting have all comped this just to name a few. Good tune. Gonna' be a big star is probably the flip and apparently, has not made any comp appearances according to the Ugly Things comp data base.
True the song has done the rounds, but this is a different version and is now available - as is 'Gonna Be A Big Star' - on the new Top Sounds label vinyl EP 'Five From The Kirkbys'
And not long ago a whole EP was (re) - released with four songs , a must have for every collector of superb Sixties bands!!
❤🎶👏👏👏
