Living in a Remodel - Kitchen Wall Removal - Renovation Timelapse!
Today I knock down a wall! ...and update my kitchen with modern electric, Klearvue Cabinets, Midwest Contertops and Samsung Appliances! My house is 960 sqf, built in 1982 and is a 2 bedroom 1 bath with a two car detached garage. I may not make my money back on this upgrade, but I will live better for it! The difference is night and day! I no longer feel ashamed to invite people over and welcome entertaining guests! My hope is that this video inspires someone to put their butt to work and complete a house project!

You just made 50k
Was that a load bearing wall?
I have a set up just like that and dont know if its load bearing did you have to put in a beam in the attic?
Hi, thanks for the comment. I can’t comment about your house; but this house had w-style trusses above, in the attic and no supports down below that wall in the crawl space. So that house had perimeter load bearing and no beam was required. Best of luck with your kitchen! 👍
An now you are living in the kitchen.... If that's what you were after, why not put the couch and the TV in the old kitchen?
Good point but I liked that openness in such a small house.
In what world is it a good idea to lay the floor before the cabinets?!?!
…just seemed easier at the time. It might be a pain for the next guy but I sold that house shortly after the remodel. Great comment though; hopefully it helps illustrate that there’s multiple ways to get a job done and every circumstance is different. 😎👍
Great job!
It’s an amazing transformation. I applaud you. I think changing your counter top from formica to quartz to match the island, will be a game changer.👏🏽
Thank you for this!
Glad it was helpful!
What was the tile that you used?
It was a Mohawk tile; but I can’t remember off the top of my head. I did answer that question in response to another comment, might be able to find it there.
The long wall that u just removed was that a long bearing wall bcoz it’s perpendicular to the ceiling joists.
Wrong. Perpendicular, yes. Ceiling Joists, no. Roof Trusses above, floor trusses below with no foundational support below = not load bearing.
This is beautiful!
Come Do Mines 😂
Well done
Inwas just talking tonsomeone about doing my kitchen/ lv like that. Thnks for the cisual of what it will look like from the front door. Love it.
Awesome!!!
Beautiful! You knocked it out of the park 😮 🙌 great job
Question: where did you pull the electrical from for the island? I rewinded to see if i could catch it? 🤔 want to do my own renovation and saving this one to my faves!
I'll be honest, unpopular opinion. I liked the previous light wooden counter tops. But that wall had to go.
I would love to know what the total cost was
That was amazing 😮 🏡💙
great job!!!!
Big Thanx! 😎👍
What was the total cost?
Original budget was $8k. I blew that and it was right around $12k(pre-covid prices).
amazing!!! 😮
You’re amazing!
This is beautiful. What was the approximate time to finish? What was the most challenging? I have a kitchen project coming up. Any tid bits would be appreciated!
Thanks! It took about 2-3 weeks of planning and then I ordered the cabinets and appliances and started work. From there it took just about 30 days to complete and I’d say the budget was the most challenging; as I thought it would cost $8k and it cost upwards of $12k. Good luck and God bless!
@@willdocter Thank you!
Good job 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful.........I'd think about a banquette instead of table and 4 chairs.......personal preference:)
Thank you and great idea! 👍
I hate these people. They make me jealous. As a doctor I keep people alive but I envy people that can do this kind of work, and do it well.
Everyone has their talents! I appreciate you and the work you do!
Wasn’t that a load bearing wall?
Nope! No support underneath it in the crawlspace.
You knocked it out of the park 💯 beautiful
Woot! 😎 👍
How long did it take and the estimated cost? It looks like that wall was not load bearing either I'm guessing?
Hey! It took 30 days and about $12k *early 2020 $$$* and nope, not load bearing!
Knocked it out of the park! How did you learn how to do everything?
Big thanks! Working with the Trades at my job and a lot of TH-cam
What's the square feet on this kitchen?
Something like 11*20 so 220-ish
I wish I could work that fast
Right! Took a month but Timelapse makes it look so much faster!
❤amazing job
Thank you Izzy!!!
Well done, you killed it
Woot! Ty!
Can you come do mine!! Lol Awesome job!! Getting ready to mine but I'm doing the gutting out then sheetrock and ceiling. Then having carpenter to put in cabinets, new windows, & flooring. Can I ask where you get your cabinets and how much? I'm getting an island small one put in as well sink will go on it. But great job. 😊
Thank you! Good luck with your project! Sounds fun! I got my cabinets from Menards.com and used their online builder.
How did you safely take care of that old gas line?
No old gas line here. Only electric
Amazing. I am looking for similar work to be done. Can I ask how many days it took you to do this ?
Thank you! It took me 30 days only working on it in the evenings and on weekends.
Is there anyway I could get in contact with you I’d love to hire for my new home project 🙏🏽 , email?
Wow you did all that by yourself, thats cool. I never seen someone complete a full kitchen by themselves
Thanks! Yeah, I doubt most of the guys/girls that can, aren’t the type to record and post it. But IDK, might be wrong!
Bro that looks so good! Great job!
Big Thanx back at ya!
Love the tile floor and the layout.
Big thanks! 🙏🏻
Praying that this won't be another tidy, whitey redo.
lol; I already read your other response
Nice job. Recessed lights in ceiling.
Yes! Thank you!
So wonderful how long did it take you ?
Thanks! 30 days!
Beautiful!!! Looks great ❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! 🤗
Amazing! You are so talented!
Thank you! Cheers!
Single guy, small house, of course the open plan works well..... My guess is that if he entertains he wants the mix of cooking, TV and eating spaces...... But for family living, (unless children are small and go to bed at 7:30) open plan creates chaos, no quiet, kids practise intruments, want to play music... I like classical in the kitchen when Im cooking to doing family paperwork... but with 2 sons and husband...I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE sports on TV
Love it exactly what I have been wanting for 20 years.
Big thanks! :)
My current house looks the same and needs update can I pay you for your mentorship during this project??
Sorry mate, I'm not a professional. But thanks and good luck on your project!
