Have this very occasionally, maybe once a month or so, on my 2016 but didn't realize the significance until quite recently. That said, I don't recall it happening in the last 6 months but will look out for it. I'm only at 55k as I only drive a couple or three times a week, less than 40 gentle miles per journey. I'm booked in for a trans fluid and filter change and also plan to get the lower temp trans thermostat installed. Who would have thought we needed to baby these heavy duty workhorse trucks?

Shit trucks . I have 18 silverado ltz and my transmission went out at 76k miles . 6000 dollar repair. Should be a recall.

My friend had the same problem of shuddering with his 2019 Silverado after 6 months dealing with the dealership they finally figured out that the wrong weight of transmission fluid was used and after they changed it the shutter went away

I got a 2015 also promaster city. i wonder if you have the same problem as my dashboard shows ⚠️ along with check engine p0522 P0520

Common problem. Cause really boils down to allowing too high operating temperatures AND programming of transmission. Stock programming attempts to allow softer shifting by letting the converter slip a little even when commanding full lock. This slowly destroys the friction liner and that ends up clogging and kills the transmission. Fix is better cooler and remove lines from the radiator for cooler fluid, reprogram TCM for proper lockup and don’t lock in gears 1 through 4 at least, and install a billet type torque converter which will not warp as easily as the stock type. Best of luck to all. Also change trans fluid every 30k miles.

More than likely the torque converter but that’s inside the transmission housing when everything is bolted up my 2018 is doing this crap luckily have a warranty on it

Great video! Nice work. Replaced one today. Old Bearing did not want to budge on the press. Put a little heat on it and it broke loose. Rest was fairly easy.

I have a 17 Silverado 1500…. Highly recommend getting a billet torque converter installed so it will not happen. I will not be driving mine until next Thursday when it gets replaced. I got my billet torque converter for $500 at O’Reilly’s. $1500 for an install and the truck only has 63,000 miles on it.😑

Sorry to say it, but that engine should be in a pile of scap by now. GM is orange for the most part. It matters. Get the one that says GM vehicles.

2018 canyon had a gm flush and fluid replacement I had missing transmission fluid from the factory basically but thankfully no wear or tear. 300$ 🤘🏽

2017 Sierra 8L90 one owner and not abused. Had severe shudder at 55k so fluid changed under warranty. Still had slight shudder so valve body changed before warranty expired. Still had slight shudder that I could feel in my butt. 103k and I got a bunch of tranny codes. Went with factory reman for $6,500 with three year warranty. Shudders, shifts hard, and surges when cold. Exactly like it did before. I’ll take it back in soon. Also has a crazy LOUD door chime that they don’t know how to fix..awesome.
