Orson Welles introduces the historical creation of the Battle Hymn of the Republic
FOR GOD..FOR FAMILY...AND FOR COUNTRY !! GOD BLESS US !!
John Brown died so we could have this.
Orson Welles × John Brown = <3
Me too.bawling like a baby
Magnificent and inspiring
Orson Welles was a brilliant performer, able to move an audience to tears with his delivery
I miss you
Miss Julia owned a musket for home defence. Just as the founding fathers intended.
When and where did Orson Welles do this presentation?
The Dean Martin Show
I live in the UK, and this has always been a favourite of mine. Very informative video. Thank you for sharing it, all the best 🥰
I've never seen this till now. Beautiful. Goosebumps and tears in my eyes
If you think John Brown was a villain then you are a complete piece of shit.
The 95 % of the reason for the civil war had nothing to do with ending slavery. It was sold on this fake endeavor...
Old Leonardo DiCaprio
Class act
TV used to be so goddamn weird.
That was absolutely awesome man.
Thanks Kevin! It's nerve racking. haha!
Brought tears to my eyes.
There are two people moldering in the grave of dislike.
He pulled a Shatner.
More like a Shatner pulled a Welles.
Alas Orson, that spirit is dying.
he was a master of drama and theatrics. in many ways: LARGER THAN LIFE.
Mercury Theatre was started by Welles and John Houseman in 1936. The Mercury Theatre troupe included: Carl Frank, Joseph Cotten, Martin Gabel, Vincent Price, Agnes Moorehead, Ray Collins, Hans Conried, Paul Stewart, Will Geer, George Coulouris, Peggy Lloyd, Olive Stanton, Geraldine Fitzgerald, and Everett Sloane.
Marlon Brando and Paul Newman.
You can tell that Orson started in literature and radio. His pacing is classic 30's Golden Age of Radio.
Legend.
What an incredible talent. Every line delivered with perfection.
i could listen and watch to Orson Welles for hours and days. He could have even read a phonebook and it would have sounded like an epic novel. There was always such a ineffable power in his performance. THAT is was hollywood is missing and trying to cover with splosions and CGI effects these days...
No one could have done this except the great Orson Welles. I am from the south and had ancestors that fought for the south in fact my great great Grandfather was in Charleston when the first shots were fired at Ft Sumter. He was also in Virginia surrendered. He came home to a devasted land but rebuilt his and his families life as Americans. We are proud of our heritage but we are more proud of our country. She still is not perfect but she is our home and our love for her wiill never die.
Orson Welles the greatest American actor and director of all time. The style, delivery and the voice is one of a kind. Simply the BEST!!!!
I love his voice....so eloquent, and a bit deeper than mine.
@ corey8144. You have to find like minded people in your area and get involved. That is the only way to save this great nation and restore its' greatness.
Now who starts the battle to set us free?........
@GusF That sounds treasonous to your native country. ;D
Orson passed away in 1985, 26 years ago already. Would he fit into today's society? He was so intelligent, we have no thinkers anymore. We have become so mindless today, just fluff.
Old Orson......they threw away the mould when he came out...........he was unique.
Magnificent, to the magnificenth power.
Wow. Great performance, great content.
Words says it all!
The voice, the delivery, the quiet intensity; Orson Welles never had to raise his voice to shake the rafters. And when words wouldn't suffice, all he had to do was fill the silence with his look, and the message was delivered LOUD and clear. Thank you, TH-cam for keeping the words, the stage presence, the wonderful talents of Orson Welles alive.
This is intense
what a great speaker !!!!
