Finally Fall Book Tag 🍁🍁🍂~ 2024 Edition
For 2025 I don't have a specific plan, but I want to read more S.F. books
I agree with several of these. 😮
I love Hyperion
I own the hexologists, but haven't picked it up yet. Sounds like a good time.
I’m with you. I gave it 4/5 stars for the same reason and believe Jimmy’s backstory was way too detailed. After the first year I got the idea.
❤❤❤
I’ve been going through my books and have discovered several that are duplicates. I’m going to take them to a little free library.
Ohhh, quite a few of these sounds really good!
If you liked this video, check out my other TBR videos :) th-cam.com/play/PLLJ1YUThBJ3fptFI0yLzb2XklTvRuiHrO.html
My January TBR is heavy on mysteries with a scifi and a pulp fantasy thrown in: "The Last Dance" (Ed McBain), "Foundation's Edge" (Isaac Asimov), "Takedown Twenty" (Janet Evanovich), "Scorpius" (John Gardner), "The Mystery of the Blue Train" (Agatha Christie), "The Burglar Who Met Fredric Brown" (Lawrence Block), and "The Moon Man" (Edgar Rice Burroughs). I read "Childhood's End" several years ago. What interests me about Arthur C. Clarke is his insistence on atheism and yet his speculation (in much of his fiction) that there is an intelligence outside of our planet that kickstarts civilization and guides mankind in its progress. Intelligent design is tough to ignore, even for atheists.
❤
I just finished Grimms Curiosities! My 19th book of the year and loved it! Next up is The Magicians which I borrowed from the library so this a rush read! Did you know they made a tv series based on the book!
I just got Mistborn for Christmas!!

I started with Blood Song and have read everything Anthony has written minus the 2nd and 3rd books of the Draconis Memoria lol. But still, I LOVE his writing style and he's easily one of my top favorite fantasy authors
@@CelticDad2022 That’s awesome to hear; I plan on re-reading Waking Fire in January :)
No AB? Also white sands and emperors soul is MIA?
I haven’t read those yet 😝
Very nice
Is that City of Bones from my favorite book series (the entire Shadowhunters, not just Mortal Instruments)? 🤩
That’s one of my fav YA series honestly 💕
I love the whole series, but the second book it's was the best in the series.

I know this video is old, but I felt like I was going crazy because EVERYONE loves this book; it was recommended by multiple friends. Sadly, all this did was reveal not to trust those friends for book recs. I couldn't comprehend the world and it relied on tropes to hold itself up, her dialogues/monologues was SO POORLY written. Her _quirk_ that she speaks out loud like there is a live studio audience and uses that _quirk_ to yell .outloud, the most INSANE monologues. If I recall right she swears like a adult trying to write an edgy teenager (hold onto your d1cks folk, it's about to get wild!), and at one point, proclaims outloud to no one, that a tree is shaking like a cVnty evil diva? What? it was a DNF for me.
I will vouch for The Dragon Bone Chair. The writing is fantastic 👏
I've been meaning to get around to that one!

The giver is hands down my favorite book. The other 3 books in the series are good but they don’t follow a linear plot so don’t expect it to follow Jonas and Gabriel
If you like dystopian novels aimed at young adults I highly recommend the Uglies and its companion series imposters. It struggles with the themes of what are we willing to sacrifice for a utopia
Good to know! Thanks!
@@messibessi11I actually read Uglies years ago! I haven’t picked up Imposters though.

Thank you! 💜
Do I have to buy all the parts or can I just read the silo?
Unless it comes as an anthology, each book is separate.
Because I bought the book The Silo and was surprised that there was another previous book, and now I am stuck: should I start reading the Silo or should I buy the previous parts and read them, then read the Silo? Will I understand the book The Silo without reading the previous parts? @@megansreadingrevelations

Question is the female a dom in this book cause I want a dom female to sub male book any recommendations
No this book isn't like that, and sorry! I don't have any recommendations for that trope.
Well you gave him a chance. Two to make it true! So it seems like Robin Cook is not an author you really like. Though I really like his books, I can completely understand your dislikes. Prose and character development are not high on my list of things I really care about in a book, especially in this genre. If they are done well, then that is an added bonus but if the plot and intricacies of the mystery are not well done, prose and characters won’t save it for me, but I can overlook prose and characters for a good/interesting plot. And you are right, some of his characters are a bit ridiculous and sometimes cartoonish. But that is true in a lot of successful writers in my opinion (e.g. James Patterson, Lee Child, and Patricia Cornwell). I think over the top characters are pretty common in some of these traditionally prolific authors. One question I have is given your two Cook books you have read, why do you think he has had such a successful writing career and has sold so many books (Google estimates 400 million copies worldwide)?
You basically said it lol. It depends on what you look for in your literature. I love beautiful prose and people who are talented wordsmiths. I love having an emotional connection to a story, theme, or character experience. Everyone gets something different out of literature, and that's what I personally enjoy about it. I think he is popular because his stories are entertaining and easy to follow. He reminds me a lot of John Grisham. He and Robin Cook write what they know about, and if I am looking for a law mystery or medical mystery, they are the authors to read.
@ Fair enough!!
Have you ever read JD Robb in death series?
No, but if it’s similar to this I’ll try it!
All looks great 🤗😇
Now hopefully I can read them all ; )

Are you sure thirsty ground isn't just the 100 from 2013?
Maybe?! I haven’t read that book.
I am reading Home Before Dark for a local book club so it is officially my first Sager book because I haven’t read The House Across The Lake yet. Glad it’s a podium pick! So far it’s pretty good. I think I’m almost a third through. The MC Maggie is spending her first night in the Banebury house.
It is such a good choice for a book club!
I just read the book 2 and I thought it was only me who found boring those parts you mention, I skipped a lot of that and I came here to see if I miss something😂
