Alcohol used to be a problem - those were the days. Recreational habits that smell less than alcohol but are way more devastating have taken over. I guess that would depend on the country/countries the cruise is going to visit. If the ship will go to certain Asian countries that still have the death penalty on anything drug-related - I wouldn't want to risk that as a cruise line. And if the cruise line regularly visits some of those countries they might as well make it an overall rule so that the rules don't change all the time depending on the route.

Really…come on folks…it’s a Private business. They have an absolute RIGHT to set and enforce their own rules and regulations. What’s wrong with people these days??? If I owe a business (restaurant, car repair etc) I have a right to say who I’ll service or not service unless it illegal.

⁠ while I agree to an extent, and wish more people had the same attitude with the pandemic instead of nagging businesses that would not provide service without a mask, we aren’t talking about bringing crack or heroin on the ship we are talking about likely prescribed medication and they’re gummies not straight up weed. Even housekeepers can be Karen’s if they want to be, and it seems that all should keep prescriptions and OTC medications in a safe just in case the maid doesn’t like them having it. This is why that industry is lagging behind everyone I know who has taken a cruise said it was ok but they wouldn’t do it again. My folks took a second honeymoon in a palatial stateroom paid nearly 30k for their trip sat with the captain etc and said they wouldn’t do it again but rather just travel on their own. The food was at best mediocre and they paid for top package, my dad said even the cheeseburgers sucked, and the only saving grace was the desserts which they filled up on because the food was never that good. So basically stay away from cruises it’s like a being in a daycare even if you behave like a grownup.

We sailed her in 2020 (weeks before the shutdowns) and we had a blast.
