Prima di mettere dell’ olio nelle canne sporche , passa una pezzuola ( più grande ) asciutta , per togliere i residui di polvere bruciata . Gli estrattori , li puoi pulire ogni tanto , non sempre . Did you have any sighting issues with yours? I'm considering buying a garand in 308 but i keep hearing of people having problems with sight adjustment. They say for example, that in order to get the weapon to shoot straight they have to adjust the front sight all the way one way and the rear sight all the way to the other. Did you have this problem yourself?

FYI, I have an original Mkll, Mod. 1, a 1942 SA receiver and it has a barrel marked AMF, 308 WIN and dated 3-66. I was surprised it didn't have the NATO designation but 3 collectors have confirmed it for me.

The spring loaded flap on back if the bolt is a shroud that prevents debris from entering the longer ejection cut in the 3.5 inch receiver.

I like the wood darker, so on mine I used Birchwood-Casey dark walnut stain, followed by four coats of boiled linseed oil. It’s beautiful(IMHO!). I did the same treatment on my Mosin M-91/30 after stripping all that reddish lacquer finish they slathered on before putting them in storage.

What is the screw that goes through the stock close to the trigger called? My rifle doesn’t have it there and I wasn’t sure if it was unsafe to fire without it.

It's funny you said you wanted it in the original caliber. The Beryl was originally chambered 5.56x45. It was developed from the Tantal in 5.45x39. The 7.62x39 variant is an export only model.

I’ve seen others adjust the tension on the locking lever, that might have helped or not.

Every TH-cam video I've watched about the SuperMag shows that they all have laminate wood so I've come to the conclusion that they must have never came with solid hardwood stocks.

Very cool, your sword is just like mine, Just a signature on the same side, Someone told me it's over 400 years old on a Japanese forum. It's not a family sword and I can only surmise that this was a sword from an Amory that was used to supply the local farmers and whoever could hold a sword during feudal times to fend off neighboring feudal states. The blade is extraordinary and breath taking to look at. One day I will get it restored and have the blade mounted in another more appropriate saya and other implements.

what is the wax that you use for the stock?

I just picked up one of these 1917 Enfield CMP service grade and I wanted to thank you for showing how to take one of these apart. I have seen various videos on dismantling the bolt, but not taking apart the rest of the rifle. In normal operation, do you need to take the bolt apart to clean it? Or is that something you do once in a while?

If u read your manual it will tell you to tighten the front action screw first then the rear screw and u don't have to take out the one behind the tiger

The "10" marking is probably IO for Inland of Ohio. How long did you let the tung oil dry before waxing?

The mags are aluminum. The very earliest were marked .223. Very collectable.

Hi mate, I know its one year later but does it have a serial number on it (on the blade or habaki/collare above tsuba/guard)? does it have a serial number on the koi-guchi/saya mouth (scabbard/sheath)? does it tempering stamp (manufacturing stamp from the arsonal shop) on the tang or lower retain collar below the tsuba/guard? the tempering stamp is small like 1/4 inch in size.

If you need to reload , better start gathering every empty case you can find... they are precious,,, good luck...btw... move the camera closer...!

There's not only no real need to strip the wood off a No.1 Mk III, but, if you do, you can easily mess up the barrel bedding. Both the bayonet lug and the inner band play an important role in bedding the barrel properly, and are important to accuracy. Best not to mess with them.

Did you ever figure out the maker?

Looking for my first M1 Garand. Should I go .308? (I have a couple .308's already and plenty of M80 Ball, but I have nothing in .30-06.) Looking for a little bit of collector value too, can't tell if these Expert Grade 308's are worth my time or if I should go for something else. Going to get it from CMP at some point of course.

I used that same wax to seal some metal that I reblued, and oiled. It really works great to seal and preserve the wood and metal. Definitely give it a shot over bluing and you'll be as impressed with it as I am.

It is easier to find and shoot normal ammo with the 308 than the specific 30.06 ammo?
