I would gladly dump Amazon to have this back.

So I totally agree that this is sad and Amazon is evil. However, it you really read up on this stuff supposedly e-commerce only accounts for under 20% of shoppers and they say what has killed this mall primarily was the area is not as nice as it used to be. They say many others like Fiesta died bc places like Fashion Sq are newer and much nicer. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think we need more things like malls with skating rinks and it’s sad how kids now socialize via computer more than playing outside and going to malls.

Even though I know we'd hurt each other again, cause the same irreparable heartbreak until the end of time, I would do it all over just to lift you into my arms and kiss you until my lips grew sore one last time. Yo te amo para siempre, mi amor. See you soon...

Don't forget that the Metrocenter parking area was surrounded by a divided four lane road. It completely circled Metrocenter. There were a variety of businesses along that roadway too. One was a very large record store (Warehouse?). In the late 1970's I used to ice skate at the ice rink.

Seems to be the fate of shopping malls across the globe. I grew up near what used to be Europe's largest shopping mall - coincidentally called the Metrocentre, in the UK. It's not as bad as this, but so many closed shops. Very sad to see.

I remember the bar/resturaunt that was built like a plane, and I cried when they took out the ice rink and the arcade went in.

One thing I'll say: Maybe try singing louder, or playing quieter. I can barely hear that lovely voice of yours!

This was really well done. I personally think that the story was well delivered, and done in a nice way. Those two people in the comments seemed to have missed the point of this kind of video. Yes, I do think that visuals and good acting are excellent, but also the story and the way that it is told are important as well. You can poorly tell a story to someone, and still get the point across. However, you can't use flashy visuals and a glittery performance without actually explaining what is going on. Basically, you did good. You told a story and although it might not be the most perfect telling, it was still entertaining.

You've documented The Backrooms in real life! We lived in northern Arizona, and coming down to Phoenix and going to Metrocenter was always a big deal. Especially the arcade above the ice rink and the huge sculpture & fountain for tossing pennies into. Very sad to see it in such decline, I drive by there occasionally and have happy flashbacks. Thanks for sharing.

I used to walk up the canal from sunnyslope in the 80s and 90s to golf n stuff and metrocenter mall. Good`ol days
