Customizing the Crosman barrel and valve for a dramatic increase in performance. Was very satisfied with the results as the power increase was very evident. all work was performed with a commonly available Dremel tool and small ball cutting bit.
DIY Crosman Valve Mod tutorial for 120+ Fps velocity increase!!
มุมมอง 39K2 ปีที่แล้ว
DIY Crosman valve modification that really transformed the 1377. went from 10 pumps just putting the pellet into a 3/4-in piece of poplar to aftermod nearly penetrating through the back of that same poplar board huge increase very very happy with results. Great velocity increase
modified crosman 22xx airgun valve hand ported and TRANS formed!!!
มุมมอง 9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
this is a custom hand ported 2240 valve that I redirected airflow radiused copied my race exhaust Port design on my dart cylinder heads. it probably more than doubled the efficiency of the stock valve do not have a crony but pellets went from barely sticking to nearly full penetration on 3/4 inch poplar wood.

Great advice, tq
How many pumps was that with the modified valve?
Why didnt you give us an example claiming its more powerful without showing us is dissapointing. I did this with a metal tube and it decreased the power also how are you killing flies from 2 feet away mine wont kill anything even at point blank i gotta shott em two to three times
Bro you're at 300 now
😂😂😂
I didn't buy the 3.0 to I'll buy later so I can cut the 1/2" PVC for it to be shorter
Will it kill a wasp ? I want one that kills wasps when they land in my pool.
@@think2cre81 It absolutely will kill a wasp. One shot to drop it then a couple at point blank. Them little critters a pretty Tuff
What would doing this to a CO2 unit do? Same thing or just waste gas? Or BOTH?!
@@makaveli087 I've done the same to crossman 2240 and had really good results.
Did this really give you over 100 fps when reinstalled?

Awesome. I knew someone would have figured out something by now on how to increase the range lol. I wonder if there is a way to also increase the pressure?..
Simply outstanding!💥👍👍👍
Simply outstanding!👍👍👍
Iodized salt ok for bug a salt
Yes iodized works fine. Try the Himalayan salt semi coarse for longer range.
@@shawnahl1657 is sea salt ok?
I add citric acid powder to my salt shot....
I use kosher salt in mine, it’s more like 00 buck shot

Hell yeah, buddy! You have a new subscriber! 👍🏼 I’m going to see if I can 3d print one that’s worth a shit.
I’ll buy one off you if you make a good one!
How do you take that part out???
There is some crossman disassembly vids out there. That's how I started. Make sure your transfer port is sealed good too! Good luck
Is there a difference in bill material or is this just standard A4 printer paper?
Do you have any advice on how to get more muzzle velocity out of oranges? Seriously... This video needed a quick tutorial in disassembly, demonstration of opening the chamber with the Dremel, reassembly and a demonstration of how the velocity was increased.
Does a steel breech stop most leaks? got a .22 backpacker that leaks..puff of air felt
Clean and seal transfer port with silicone
Hi, is possible make this mod to C11 ??
can someone point me in the direction of converting my 1322 into being able to fire real gunpowder bullets rather then pellets?
its not that hard mr atf
can someone point me in the direction of converting my 1322 into being able to fire real gunpowder bullets rather then pellets?
I have trouble believing 120 FPS a Crosman pumper shooting 745 fps. Maybe on the moon. 😂
Well no amount of porting can fix stupid my friend best just to leave it to the pros,
@@shawnahl1657 So as a pro you’ve got a chronograph or two so let’s see the results. It’s easy and what I was waiting to see. If you’ve really improved it then show us.

What part is that on the vigilante?
A Bill? What are you using? Is that paper rolled up?
Is this for the crosman vigilante?
My dog ate mine, i baught a new one but the old one still works, so what i did was creat a complete monstrosity out of 1" pvc and a stupid amount of glue and primer and did exactly what you did, then i did something else really dumb and i took the leftover 1" pvc cut in in half hot dog style down the pipe about 2 1/2" and heated it up and formed it to match the back of the gun and also used a stupid ass load of pvc glue and primer and a couple of wood screws to hold it in place, it looked like complete dogshit but then i trimmed the edges, and then got a JB weld steel stick epoxy puddy, formed it real well and filled in the gaps, wraped the barrel with sand paper and adhesive spray, painted it with epoxy resin spray paint, and glued a pvc 90 onto the stock with a little piece sticking down for shoulder rest and it damn near looks like a real shot gun at this point
did it encrease volocity ??? u got numbers ??
Beautiful work. I've been planning on doing something like this myself
I got to get back to curls. Years of upright rows caused shoulder impingement. Now after therapy trying to get my range of motion back so it is easier to sleep at night
"a fuckin' bill..." lol I hear ya.
so did you modify it by folding a maling envelope?? or could you be more specifc as to what you did please ?
Basically roll up any sturdy bill you don't like, roll it up until it's nicole size diameter and apply tape to hold in shape. Attach bill over barrel and bang...dead flies at range
I use 1/2" PVC. It's a perfect fit over the orange tip and you can cut it to any size. It's a snug fit.
how long PVC you used and what is the effective power range now?
try 3 feet (have to cautarize it) you are now snipping flies on the Oak tree from your living room.
A longer barrel will decrease velocity. It's not a firearm.
How??? It is an air gun. The longer distance the forced air is going through the barrel the more velocity the projectile will have.... It's not rocket science. There will be dropoff at some point but I don't think anyone is going to put a 22 inch barrel on it. I'm sure with the minimal amount of air being pushed it would be bad after 10 inches or so but effectively doubling or tripling it's 2 inch barrel most definitely helps with velocity
👏👏👏 I've been looking up how to make this toy more powerful. This was one of my ideas, but I applaud you for using a bill paper 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but I also found another video were someone did a teardown, and there's a sealed cylinder with a spring, kinda like the first airsoft guns. So, even though it's more work, all you have to do is get into that, stretch the compressor spring and reseal the cylinder with super glue. Thus giving the toy more power. But you have shown me how to make it more precise in a way. I'll do some testing 👍👍👍
Cool! Please put the video link here so we can watch it :D
@@thiago.2545 just look up on TH-cam how to make the Bug-A-Salt more powerful 👍 alot of the videos bring up making the barrel longer, but I will say if you roll up the paper into a conical shape you get better results. Kinda like a rocket engine. Enjoy 👍
"good morning to my 29 subscribers" Lol I'll sub that's funny
Great video dude. I tried this a few days ago, it definitely works. It seems to about double the effective range from the muzzles end, and with a longer barrel, you can get it closer to the bugs without them flying away.
Rock on Brutha!
The cocaine reference was 10/10
Next mod: how to turn it into a Gatling gun 😂🤣
Mine won't be in until tomorrow. But I've already been thinking of getting a smaller diameter piece of tube to act as a choke on a shotgun without extending the barrel to much lol maybe put a spacer behind the spring to give it a little more power if the barrel mod didn't help. Basically I work in the fertilizer industry and we have no shortage of flies in the summer.
I think that's a great idea! Works on my fx impact should increase spring load on bugasalt
😂😂😂 good use for bills
Ive got the same Keef box. Nice.
You get more velocity on a regular gun because of the rifling on the barrel 😂 this will give you a tighter spread but you’re not gaining velocity
Thank u for being a sound of reason in a sea full of idiots. If anything... this is reducing the velocity
Rifling just spins the bullet for stability. Length of barrel increases velocity in a firearm by allowing the powder to burn longer, and keeps accelerating the bullet. Short barrels a lot of powder is unburnt leaving the muzzle after the bullet leaves, and is no longer putting pressure on the bullet. How that translates to a a Bug A Salt don't know. The blowgun analogy seems like a good one to me. Longer air pressure should continue to accelerate the salt. Smaller diameter the better the seal, and velocity. I'll have to take mine mine apart, and see how it works. Has to be a spring that can be stiffer.
@@gonzob9609 fair enough. Let me know what you find!
Same goes for pellet rifles. The barrel is so short on the bug and the pressure isn't crazy so there will be a sweet spot. Double or triple the barrel length and it will probably help. There will be a point of drop off at a certain length though that will slow it down. What that length is idk. I can swap barrels on my pcp airgun and it can make a 30fpe difference just from having an extra 8 inches
Rifling won't help because this is like a shotgun. If the bug a salt uses air pressure, then the air will continue to accelerate until pressures equalize. So a longer barrel should help power. Also, a stiffer spring should give it more power. Accuracy could possibly be improved by having a choked barrel. If you don't know, that means making the business end of the barrel minutely smaller.
I just got through doing mine, haven't chronographed it yet but holy smokes.. I had an old style valve laying around and did nothing with the threads, but went a little nuts on the inside.. 35 pumps and no air left in the valve afterwards with a heavier hammer spring.. shot a steel folding chair and it looked like I shot it with my .25 gauntlet 😅.
Happy to hear it worked for you too. Very satisfying
Great idea! What is the barrel's diameter?
Diameter is about the size of a nickle
