We did not hear any noise from it - We were above the shops and sushi restaurant. One thing we did notice from the glass elevators is that the floors were much thicker above, between, and under the GC decks. You can see it in this video - I found it interesting. It is like a drill - it connects to the back of the motor and spins it up to speed to start the motor. These cars do not have an on board starter.
