This was fascinating to me. I really enjoyed watching you create something beautiful as well as practical. I was looking to buy something like this, but I’d love to do this myself. I guess I’ll have to find out what machine and materials I need and learn how to sew!
Is this considered a fixed ridgeline?
Yes sir. This is a fixed length Ridgeline.
@@randysmith1283 perfect thanks! Was looking at getting a free bird. Does it already have hooks for a under blanket?
@@fidrox2250 The underquilt hooks can be added for a small charge. Just contact us at support@dream-hammock.freshdesk.com to add this to your hammock order.
I have a commercial machine that recently got sewing. It came with binding attachment but no foot to match. Are the Foot plates and attachment company specific or can I find and use a different foot? Thanks for your quick video.
You can really use any foot that fits your particular machine. I would suggest going with a wider foot to get the best results.
@@dreamhammock Thank you for your suggestions.
Would you guys sell just an over over?
We do over overcovers for your Sparrow hammock, Just contact us at support@dream-hammock.freshdesk.com annd we'll work with you on getting one.
Thanks for the video. Love your work ❤
Does that make it smooth? I hate the granular feel on my spork. I want to polish it.
Great video!
Amazing tutorial
Awesome video but all i have is canvas. Will I run into issues with fraying unless I buy the type of material you're using?
One sure fire way to find out. Give it a try and report back for everybody.
@@dreamhammock haha will do
Great work DH
Ye kaha milaga??
Randy, What material did you make the template out of? Great video!
masonite or hardboard
Randy, that modle JUKI are you running, Ira
It's a Juki 8700-7
That was super quick and easy. Thanks!
Great vid and just what I need for storing my camo bits and pieces. Just one question...if I make a bigger bag are the corners still 3" or do I need to make them bigger - thanks
That dimension will increase as the bag gets larger. The easiest way is just to fold the corners and see what you need. Good luck with your projects.
Guess who's going to finally have a shaving kit that accommodates ALL of his stuff without having to stand on it to get it zipped shut? Thank you a ton!
Do you have a binder ribbon recommendation for curved assemblies? I’m looking for keywords to search for binder ribbon that does especially well with following round edges. Thanks!
I'm not aware of one that will do very well on curves. Sorry
Thank you sir. First box/bag for me so took a bit to keep up but with some perseverance - success!!
Where can we buy this
Great video. Thank you.
Awesome 👌
That's great idea! thank you so much.
Do you recommend this hot knife over the sailrite one?
Sorry, never used the Sailrite one.
Awesome. This is going to be one of my first Orpheum, I think. Your instruction makes me feel confident.
Please I need this product what's the process for getting it?
Real nice work, well explained - thank you. I've subbed.
I used this to make a new bag for my tent and it worked great, thank you for the video!!
You're certainly welcome Brooke.
👍
Smart way of working thank you for information and step by step job
Thanks, nicely explained. But how do you decide the dimension (length x width) of the fabric if you want the finished bag to be of a certain dimension?
To determine the starting dimensions of your fabric: length + height + about 1inch = starting length (2 x height) + (2 x width) + 1 inch = starting width These are rough measurements so you may have to adjust slightly to suit your needs.
@@dreamhammock To get you right, could you please plug these figures into you r formula (I want the bag to be roughly 12 x 4 inches)
@@rahalati Start with a piece of fabric approx 17 x 17 and see where that gets you.
This is beautiful like a flannel lined coat
Muchas gracias, excelente tutorial
So yes, I know that this is an old video, and I comment for the algorithm.
Awesome!
A really nice project thank you.
Fantastic video. Great information that I will put to use.
1 inch
Hi Randy! Good easy project that would make a good gift for friends or family. Rather than spend a bunch of money for things that might not be appreciated, this year I think I'll make some bags and gear that anyone can use as I learn how to put a vintage Kenmore to use.
You know, I'll cherish a personal and thoughtful handmade item over a purchased one every time. Good luck with your projects this Christmas season.
@@dreamhammock The nice thing about your business model is that you take that idea and your talent to hand make customized "hanging beds" and accessories. People can use them 8 hours every night and appreciate that they are personally designed, then made by an American craftsman. The Lord bless you Randy. ☕🙂👍

I want to anadoize bismuth metal, what liquid would you recommend? Vinegar or soapy water ?
Nice video 👍 Thankyou
Very helpful thank u, ❤️ from Indonesia 🐨
Could you please instruct me regarding drybag , I meant that the bags with seam sealing tape and welding film pressing , how is it process . thanks
Thanks Randy. Very well-done tutorial. I'm not sure if I have met you at some point. I'm Slowhike on HF and I've been organizing the Grayson Highlands Fall Festival, in VA, for about 12 years now. I also help organize the Mt Rogers Area Winter Hang as well. I've only herd good things about you. Hope to run into you some day.
Hi Tim, I'm thinking we did indeed meet at Watoga SP in WVa a few years back. Hope you are doing well. I really love getting out to many of the different hangs, but it's always a struggle to find enough time to go I'm afraid. I also hope to meet up with you one of these weekends.
@@dreamhammock Yes, that's the only MAHA I've been too. Hope to see you again. Keep up the good work!
it is wonderful sewing machine. I've the same machine. just love it
5:27 What a pErFeCt view! I see eXaCtLy what is going on here... not! :/ 6:15 This is much better.
How much does it weigh?
This fabric weighs 1.5oz per square yard. This particular hammock would weigh right around 16oz.
Whats your cutting table surface made of?
I made an 18th century floor length coat and not for the life of me could I figure out how to make a square bag... until I watched your video - that is. Thanks Randy. I'm off and running ☺️ 🇨🇦
What kind of table are you using to cut on?
