Custom Sea-Doo Jet Ski LinQ system fishing cooler using Ski-doo accessory
มุมมอง 25K5 ปีที่แล้ว
I took an off-the-shelf cooler and mounted $20 Ski-Doo linq locks to it, in order to attach the cooler to the Sea-Doo link system base that I put on my 2013 GTI SE 130. My complete project was about $165.00 total. I forgot to mention in the video you need to use a 7/32 drill bit and do not go farther than 9/16 into the deck because of your exhaust and the bolts will be attached with a T-30 star...

First Time Flying at Myrtle Beach in a Helicopter
มุมมอง 1788 ปีที่แล้ว
Caleb's first time flying. Having fun at Myrtle Beach, SC. Thought we would do a video for some friends and family or if anyone is interested in flying at Myrtle Beach. We booked with Helicopter Adventures and they were great to deal with. Sorry in advance for any weird sounds. Just having fun.
Did you use the old pad for the spacing or did you just place the LinQ bases at a distance from each other that would fit the cooler?
I used the original pad and put the linqs on the cooler, then drilled the holes.
Thanks that was my idea to do. Another question tho. Any ideas to do the similar but with a gas can? Since the linQ gas can wouldn't fit cus of using a larger cooler for spacing@@gregparker7059
@karaLUVEanime hmmmm, not sure about the gas can. I haven't worked with that before.
@@gregparker7059I ordered the base that will be attached to the back of my jet ski. I just noticed that with the type of jet ski I have much of a deck and it's slightly curves up. How did you compensate for the curve to get the cooler secure? Or is the slight curve just not an issue?
@karaLUVEanime there's a part in the video where I was talking about making spacers. I think I cut pieces of the mat that came with the Linq brackets and put them halfway under the Linq brackets to compensate for the curve on the back of the ski. This has been like 5 years ago and I do not have the ski anymore. Wish I could help more.
How were you about to install the screws onto the bracket without drilling into the insulation?
What size cooler? Can you send a link?
whats the lenght of the cooler you used so it matches up with the Linq mounts?
Sorry, I do not have the ski anymore. It was a custom fit. I mounted the linq brackets. I also do not know if Walmart still carries that cooler type.
Isso é a ideia perfeita que eu estava procurando para realizar em um Spark. Você é um gênio. Obrigado.
What’s the actual cooler? Link? Model number?
Sorry, I sold the Seadoo and the cooler was purchased 4 years ago. Not sure if Walmart still has it available.
where'd you find the straps and handles?
Walmart sold them as an accessory online.
Hi Greg good to k ow... I seen your rmcomment on amazon and looked you up on youtube, was hoping to see a detailed install on the cooler etc. Or even a bit more detail on the linq system install with that cooler. Did you use the template provided to drill the screw holes or did you have to custom measure so the cooler fit precisely.... if so can you share some of that info. Tks again glad to see how this isxpossible.
I was not able to use the template provided. I had to make my own for that exact cooler size. Unfortunately I do not have the ski any longer and do not have the materials to replicate.
@Greg Parker ok tks no worries. I think what I may do is place the hardware connectors on the cooler and then temporarily place the linq bases on those and place all down on a piece of flexible material 1 inch thick and then trace the outline of them on said mayerial. Then remove the linq bases and screw in tight as per the outline and place cooler back on to see if all is nice and tight.... if so I would use the material as a guide to make pilot holes. My only concern is the curvature of the rear deck of my GTI 130 SE. I would have to ensure I can replicate that on the material being used.
@@chefgarrin that sounds like a great way to do it. I remember I had to cut spacers and place them under the edge of the brackets on the ski because of the curvature.
@Greg Parker may work but good to know about the spacers.... this is the type of tips I was looking for, not necessarily a video step by step.... any other tips much appreciated
Just got a explorer pro, so I won’t need the linq mounts, but I will be 3D printing a lock system that runs the entire length of the cooler like the seadoo gas tank
Wow, now that will be really cool. Are you gonna put it on TH-cam?
Are they through bolts or just screws holding the mounts to the ski?
Just screws holding the mounts.
how long were the screws you used for the lock bracket on the cooler?
I am so sorry, I can not remember. Been so long ago it seems.
Has anyone had any luck doing this with the GTX S (Suspension Models) I have a 2015 Seadoo GTX S 155. Only models they do not offer the kits for. Less room in the back because of suspension and does have the curve. I believe I could make it work. Going to try. Hoping someone already did.Thanks.
Did you get it to fit? I’ve got all the pieces and am struggling to get it to fit!
@@garrettkucera3808 Still waiting on parts. Let me know if you have any luck.I May have to build something custom
Installed on my 2017 thx for the info
Great vid.
Thanks!
Only forgot one part...THE INSTALLATION!!! Just installed the exact same system on my older 2000's seadoo GTI with the identical cool. This is a pretty straight forward install however as some people have mentioned the screws that come with the base plates are not self tapping therefore require pilot holes which then get drilled out to the precise size of the coarse threaded bolts provided. You are screwing directly into the fibre glass deck through the top foam or in my case rubber mat. I also added extra foam under the rear of the bracket in order to better fit my older machine. In my case I also had to create small plastic spacers (1/4") where the LINQ latches mount to the cooler. I'm not sure if this was because of the angle of the back deck on my older seadoo but it was an extremely simple fix and everything mounts up tight and firm. As Greg mentions it beats all the straps etc you would have to use without these mounts and if you really want to use your Seadoo for fishing it's worth it for the clean and simple latch system. My cost in Canadian dollars: $193.99 Ozark Cooler: $89 LINQ Base Plates: $77 LINQ Latches: $27
Good input, thanks for the info.
Great video and real clean job u did. I'm having a hard time finding the cooler. where did you get it from and what size is it?
I'd like to see more about the way you attached all that to the cooler.
Sorry, I have sold the ski.
Love the video! Exactly what I was looking for I appreciate it very much! What did you use to mount the fishing rod holders? I know it was aluminum but do you remember where you got it or did you custom make it?
Awesome glad you liked it. I used flat aluminum stock from Lowe's that fit perfectly into the rod holders side slots. The rod holders I have have slots where you could put a spike rod in it to put it down in sand. the aluminum fit in perfectly and I just bend it over and stuck it down in the slots on the cooler where to handle straps are located.
Awesome man I really appreciate the information! Super excited to get this installed
Also one other question for the screws you use to attach the fasteners to the cooler where they just find thread screws or did you somehow bolt it? Also the bracket on the jet ski I would surmise that comes with bolts and not just lags?
@@michaelstuhmer2850 I used stainless steel flat head screws for the cooler brackets. The screws that hold the brackets on the ski came with the kit.
@@gregparker7059 thanks man! Happy New year!
How did you spacial reference to mount brackets to the rear deck? Did you just mount brackets to cooler first then line up? The foam that comes with the kit is meant for sea doo accessories. I’m just wondering how you got to final result. Very genuine install. Just need the information to duplicate. Because I have two of those exact same coolers.
Yes, mounted to cooler then aligned on ski.
The spacing of the linq brackets, is that the oem specs that have on their website?
@@naterothchild4946 no, it is not per Sea-Doo specs. This is a different size cooler. Attached the quick link locking mechanisms to the cooler and then to the base of the linq system, marked where I would drill the holes and you can see the results in the video.
I think I’m going with oem measurements and get the pwc linq rack. No bungees or ratchet tie downs. Carry gas cans or coolers with rod holders. This video sparked my idea so I thank you for that.
@@naterothchild4946 sounds good. That's the main reason I did it because I couldn't find any others at that time. Hope it works out for you.
This is epic. Nice hack. I just ordered all the gear to make this hack happen on my ‘21 Trixx. But, I noticed one thing when I began shopping for a cooler... drain plugs. The one you bought at Wally World doesn’t have drain plugs... am I right? I may have to go with the same cooler vs my favorite coolers, Pelican. Again, awesome hack. Gunna be sweet.
That is awesome! Glad it works for you. No drain plug on mine, you are correct.
Thanks! I found the 25qt Igloo BMX to be the best fit for me. $58 on Amazon. Lots of options to build a removable platform or virtually anything, using the LinQ locks. @@PrestonHelton Wow! That is a nice cooler. Thanks for the info. You are the man!
@prestonhelton any success installing on the Trixx?
Could you do a video showing how to mount the clips to the cooler...,thanks
What rod holder brackets are you using
It's just the basic rod holders with two holes for screws, but I added flat aluminum bars that fit perfectly through the coolers strap slots.
Thank you
If im getting a 2020 gti with the linq already installed into the jetski, my question is what size cooler do i get? When i buy those amazon brackets & install them onto the cooler, how do i get them to line up so it snaps on & fits right?
I am guessing that if the GTI already has the Linq system on it then Sea-Doo would have a cooler of the correct size to fit. I installed my own brackets to match the cooler I purchased. Sorry this does not assist your situation.
Yeah it already has the linq on the gti but i dont want to pay $700 for a cooler, so if i buy a cooler for less on my own, and the brackets im not sure how to know or line up the links to fir correctly im not sure wgat size cooler or the distance needed between brackets to lineup correct, i guess ill have to figure something out somehow but im def not buying the $700 seadoo cooler
@@TheEvilways101 I do not blame you one bit. That is why I did my own. You may have a difficult time finding a cooler that fits the factory installed brackets. If you do, post it because someone else will have the same issue. Please let us know what you find out. Take care.
Im pretty good at problem solving & fabrication and i plan on rigging a 45 Yeti cooler on it. Rather spend the money on a good cooler then 3 times the amount getting ripped off hard from the dealer. I’ll definitely make a how to video when i do it..
@@TheEvilways101 tape measure should help. I am going to try to work something out with my yeti 45 and maybe some spacers.
I didn't know these Linq locks existed! Thank you soooo much!! Can't wait to make some custom storage containers for my SeaDoo spark :D
No problem. We are hooking our cooler back up for fishing this spring.
I did it and took it out this past weekend. I am absolutely in love with it. Bye bye cooler rack. A lot cleaner look. I even played with the cooler the back. Cutting donuts jumping some boat waves " not big ones" and everything seems to be ok. No issues.

Order everything and will try this on my 2012 Yamaha FX SHO. Should work great because the back deck in almost flat. Got to check under the deck to make sure screws wont hit anything. I have a cooler rack I built but I'm tired of the straps. This will make it a lot faster and cleaner looking on the ski. Thanks man. I'll let you know how it turned out.
Yeah definitely make sure the screws do not go in too long and cause any problems under the decking.
The weather has been bad in Mississippi for a couple of months. Finally we got some decent weather. So I started on your cooler idea and it worked fabulously. Thanks ! I got a cooler rack and it's great but wanted a cleaner look with out the rack and tie downs. You the man!
@@badlands1217 awesome to hear. It does look a lot cleaner this way. We start fishing on ours toward the end of next month.
I found the locks on skidoo but wanted to know if you can provide me the part # for the mounting bracket thanks in advance
I just did a Google search for Sea-Doo Linq bracket and a ton of them pulled up. That is the quickest way I know of to find what is needed. Hope this is helpful.
What part should you disassemble to drill (I'm from Argentina, I'm using the Google translator)
Or just drill and screw without disassembling anything?
Are you able to provide links to both brackets

How did you mount the line to the jet ski? Just drill and screw it in?
I went on the Seadoo website and found out what size drill bits I needed and used the bolts that were supplied with the kit.
So the regular linkq fuel tank wont work on your setup because you widened yours I take it?

Can you provide a link to the locks? I can only find repair kits. Thanks for the vid.

Man you can't let the devil trick you like that. Jesus wants you to be happy and full of life and joy. Satan is the blamer,do not carry on a conversation with Satan in your mind because he is to tricky. Just stop the dialogue with Satan inside your mind the millisecond it starts as many times a day as it takes and redirect to busy work.
It is awesome how God and the Holy Spirit are moving in those who believe the TRUTH, and Love in Christ, as God created them to be. I am not a church attendee because in the last years I haven't been in one place. I move around from one family member to another and I am not usually understood, or well received, but I know that I know now and my church is wherever I am and whoever I can speak to. My church family is all of you who know this Truth and are denying self, taking up your Cross, and following Jesus, and all He taught and commanded. It's amazing to be mistreated by family and not even get my heart rate going. Trust me, God's grace changed me, I still am not where I want to be, but thank God and this new revelation of the same TRUTH, I am not who I once was, and will never be again. Thanks for sharing my Brother. Glad you are on the front lines of the battle against the lies, and the lack of knowledge that have kept us powerless for far too long. The fire is ALIVE and it is spreading fast. God is AWESOME!
Well i hope i bump into you.....somewhere on God's green earth
I don't know how to be different Greg Parker and Caleb Parker....like I don't know how to let the Holy Spirit live inside of me....all those things confound me sir
First of all, anyone wanting a closer relationship with God has to be actively seeking Him. The Bible is the best answer and asking God to show you. That is what I did. Look up a video on TH-cam, Todd White - Interview - Who is the Holy Spirit and why do we need Him. Keep searching the New Testament in 1 Corinthians and God will show you everything you need to know about why The Holy Spirit is so important in your life. We think to much about the physical world, God said to set your mind on spiritual things, not things of this world. He is amazing.
Jim Deal, Dan Mohler is who helped me understand and I got an amazing revelation I never had before in 18 years of trying. He teaches a 34 week course called Kingdom Living, it is not a new series and he taught it from his home church in PA. It is awesome though and scripturally explains sooooooo much. Check that out. God knows your heart is hungry and he will answer you. I spent years with life just hammering me. Trust me you are gonna get there fast my Brother in Christ, just keep seeking.
Bless you Greg and Caleb Parker

Jim Deal definitely brother, we will be praying for you. Depression is a spiritual attack and can be lifted off in the name of Jesus. God loves you brother and Jesus came to set the captives free and you will be free indeed.

Carla Dean appreciate it, but I think you are talking about praying for Richard Dean, he posted about needing prayer for some specific needs, but I am more than happy to have you pray for me too. Love you brother.
Amen and please pray for me as well. We are all on the same boat together and unity in TRUTH is what we need in America. Dude are you still in Winston-Salem I really wish I could bump into you.....I am in the Triad too
Jim Deal we do not live in Winston-Salem, but we are going to pray and ask God to let you see how much he loves you and just to clarify, we are not anything without Him. Caleb and I only welcome The Holy Spirit to guide us and He does. We are not any different than anyone else. God wants all of us to submit and allow ourselves to be used to worship and honor Him.
