I Finally finished the mount for the fire extinguisher, I stupidly bought one those quick release mounts. Total rubbish ($30, all plastic, difficult to remove). $6 of angle aluminium worked out much better.

I Guess it’s ok if you’re gonna be wheeling .
This is on my to do list as well. First main concern is a set of new axles to replace the Dana 20 and 35. Nicely done my friend . . . love the looks of that snorkel.
Thanks mate! Yea working on the drive train and making the jeep more reliable should always be priority. The snorkel was one of those fun modifications/ not completely necessary mods.
@@dtpprojects (I meant the Dana 30 and 35 ) ;-) I agree but the problem where I live is that axles are very hard to come by especially used Dana 44's It's like striking gold. I'm now considering a Currie 44 in the front and the Currie 60 high pionion in the rear. But that will dennt my savings pretty hard. So still orienting. What axles do you run?
@ in Australia, we are very lucky that all TJs came with a 44 rear and 35 front Dana. Getting a Currie is crazy expensive to get here.
Love this color and texture. Very well done my friend.
Thank you! Cheers mate
Nice work mate . Do you get any forward rake ?
When the new 200kg rear springs and the 14 year old front springs I did, now with both the front and rear being new, no forward rake. Keep in mind I have a rear bar and full tank of petrol.
@@dtpprojects i am getting forward rake around 5-6cm I’ve got aftermarket front and rear bumper 35” spare with soft top carry people with me 2933 and 2942 right now but thinking to swap with 2941 , rear spring giving me 3” lift atm
Sounds frustrating mate. Keen to hear how you go with the change of springs. Keep me updated.
Has there been any issues with removing the torx bolts on the body of the jeep after being sprayed with the liner?
I changed the door hinge torx bolts to hex head bolts prior to painting (as these are the only bolts I’ll probably ever be removing). The torx bits are horrible to deal with normal paint. The raptor would make it worse. But you can always scrape it out and use an impact on the torx heads.
awesome work!
Thanks man, I was surprised how quick it was to change them out
How about pressing a little harder with the edge of the key
I do like my car, not gonna ruin it
Thanks homie
Great Video. Can't wait to see what upgrades are next!
Hey, Appreciate it mate, there’s definitely more coming!
That ac going to be working overtime
@@ShawnHellaMay The jeep was black before the raptor. The roof is plastic/fibre glass anyway. No difference I’ve noticed.

Socket rail to hold your sockets on and even a basic scan tool nothing over the top recommend a FOXWELL which is enough to get an idea what’s going on in ecu
@@dannyoconner9680 Yeah a rail will definitely keep things neat. I now carry a scan tool on each trip. And now with a jeep TJ my tool kit has definitely changed
Great video David. Your video seems to be the only one on YOuTube that shows installing a Maxtrax Flat Rack Mount to a Rhino-rack Heavy Duty Crossbars. How did you go fitting the rectangle nuts into the HD track? I might have an older Rhino-rack as these nuts appear too wide to squarely slip inside the track. Did you have any issues? The only solution I can think of is to file a little off these nuts to get them to fit. Thanks.
Hey, so I also noticed when i installed it that the rectangle nuts didn’t fit square in the track and they sit on an angle instead. I think you might be right the rectangle nuts need to be shorter in length. I think its a mistake by Maxtraxs
Bro, it looks great! The button and loop hardware make it look super pro. Really clean project!
Thanks mate! Appreciate it!
Great job. This is on the to-do list for my 98 TJ. Finding the time seems to be the biggest hurdle.
Couldn’t recommend the raptor more
Very good stuff. Enjoyed this alot
Glad you enjoyed it mate. Appreciate the comment!
No bro never seen anyone doing it this video I bought the same one in Queensland and I looked everywhere to check how to do it how it looked couldn’t find so I paid arb to do it. Just saw your video I was like better be a new one 😂
Yea the instructions from arb is 25 pages, with horrible photos. It’s solid work to install these bars
What year is your forester ?
2007
Love this idea ! does this solar panel come in different sizes ? want to mount one but I also would like to use my Moon roof too?
Yea heaps of sizes available online
1:21 spider.
so sick! how much did it cost im keen too get one too!
Very expensive, $2759 new from ARB. I dIYd the install. And I was super lucky to pick this up second hand for $850 and it was new
How are you liking the rack post install? Curious about water tight quality, air noise, and utility of this set up. High on my list after seeing this video!
@@theotherguy2582 yea really happy with them! Super solid. I might order different legs though. Rhino rack do a more shorter leg now, nil issues with water. I only have wind noise when the maxtraxs and shovel are on. I actually recently ripped off my shovel mount and sheared off 4x maxtraxs pins when I went into a low roof car park. And there was no issue with roof or bars
how much bedliner you uses on the body?
I used 7 bottles for the body, including the bull bar
Nice work mate
Thanks mate!
Hi David. What are the end caps you put on the bumper. I would love to order them as I think the OEM looks super bulky.
These are the ones I bought from Amazon, the fit is pretty poor. But they do look better than the big bulky ones! www.amazon.com.au/Front-Bumper-Compatible-Wrangler-1997-2006/dp/B09L6X8GGJ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=32YNFDCG1XNRN&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Mc3cl7FW-T2oPQwW5Nw8tg2dbz2xMix7GUbgC4B7a6Gq9Qnqr3mwQDUScmd0ELcR-OQu3KWfVEFiUm4Ar0Vu4QrBbRPUJorcSfWtH5P-yKkAPB_g5ss6IeOi5TcdLIazQzRuSuMghtIZzIee10ed_E2MgUOOwizXPKogqFjYq-7TpRo1uitbWnFDjezzXKHcrklYEp7OjebllqmEvv68sxWw8MlS8sejEGKahJ_k_flnaZO2nM8q2_K9F1Bu9H5txSY-jLIt8O9nSmwm6j2CXZpVQhvZUid-zQilynUxWw4.foVEXlIvREY3jwyTbUvuNvXUP0G1yY3Cm42BFlf1E-o&dib_tag=se&keywords=jeep%2Btj%2Bend%2Bcaps&qid=1721650911&sprefix=jeep%2Btj%2Bend%2Bca%2Caps%2C534&sr=8-2&th=1
Hi mate, thanks for your vids, I have a 2003 tj. How long did it take you to air up your tyres with your arb?
@@kyranstaunton5616 Hey mate, from 18 psi to 32 psi it takes about 1-1.5 minutes per tyre, my tyres are 30”
@@dtpprojects thanks very much for your super fast reply. I'll likely follow your lead on a few of these vids.
@@kyranstaunton5616 no problem mate!
I love this restoration, but... you install inverted the rotor! The nuts will be loosen when you use the machine.
Good catch! someone informed me too about this, and I had to take it apart to flip it! Cheers for watching!

Wow, tackled that obstacle.

Hey mate did you sell the Forester? SO did I haha
Hey, yea the Forester was sold about 2 years ago now. Bought the Jeep about 4 months ago (second time having a TJ) much more robust than the forester was. Finding the Mitsubishi better ?
@@dtpprojects oh yeah much better heaps more capable and much better ground clearance
Thanks for the vid!!!
No problem!
The best job paint matte black, very nice job in best car made all time, the Wrangler TJ.
Cheers mate!
awesome work!
Thanks mate!!!
Holy rust free! Cant believe you got that bolt out with your hand, look up south main auto's attempt from the salty areas hahha! Looking to get these myself!
Watched that a while back. That was so crusty, could barely tell there was an opening in the middle.
Awesome work. How did you do the metal door handles?
Sanded them down in place and sprayed them too. Wasn’t worth taking off
Can you confirm the name of the mounting bracket? I can’t find it anywhere
FMJ Industries, I DM the owner on instagram, he’s on Facebook too though.
@@dtpprojects thank you, sir!
I have a 2006 TJ sport and plan to paint with raptor liner also. I want to go for white hardtop and try to aim for Nardo Grey body, this will probably take some experimenting to get a good approximation but i want to give it a try anyway. If big fail i'll go for black also. Thanks for video and clear explanation. Job well done i think.
No problem mate! Appreciate the comment
Nah, beauty job ma boy, beautae job🤙🏽
Thanks mate
That turned out great looking grinder, and its good to see you used the old GMF label. Just a question does one of those cups sitting below the wheels sit the other way to collect the sparks, just looking at the way the bolts are facing on the mounting rod
Great job! Whats the name of the color ? What color is it? Thank you..
Thanks mate! The black is Raptor liner black and roof is woodland grey with tintable raptor liner.
Nice Work! That Jeep is really coming along.
Thanks George!! Definitely enjoying working on the jeep!
