Originally founded as Llanedeyrn FC in 1975, Gwalia United (formerly Cardiff City Ladies Football Club) is the oldest all-female football club still standing in Wales.

Gwalia United have won the Welsh Cup a record 11 times and we have also represented Wales in the UEFA Champions League on a number of occasions. We are very proud to have produced a large number of Welsh International players throughout our history too such as Kath Morgan, Jessica Fishlock MBE, Gwennan Harries, Sophie Ingle OBE and Loren Dykes MBE to name just a few.

Gwalia United is a voluntary organisation which is dependent on coaches, committees and volunteers giving up their valuable time freely for this fantastic club. The Club ensures its obligation of putting something back into the community by its close links with Sport Cardiff and the Council run Dragon Sport Scheme over the years for children aged 7 to 12 years of age, then making the pathway into the junior sections.
