A Deep Dive into Fugazi Founder Trevor Gorji
มุมมอง 23K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video we take a look at the streetwear label named Fugazi founded by Trevor Gorji from Los Angeles. Fugazi is a post-structuralist commentary on streetwear and the modern-day consumerist phenomenon. The brand’s take on fashion and clothing is rooted in the new sincerity of metamodernism. The brand exists as a study on the nature of streetwear; critiquing how something as simple as an ev...

your videos are very well made i was wondering if you could cover some cheaper alternatives to the style of brands you are covering
This video is extremely well made and touches upon so many aspects of India fashion... really well done, subscribed
Check out Pieux, an indian brand that works on the concept of circularity. They are the winner multiple sustainability awards. They are very new
Very inspiring, thanks 🙏🏼
I always liked the idea of it being called new money/street money since it seemed like it was a mixture of street wear and old money
Does anyone know what shoes he has on at 10:53? They look like Nike ld-1000 but more sleek with less branding. Btw Amazing video big fan of yours on insta good to see the content is just as good on TH-cam!
I think this became my look by default. Tbh, I was too depressed to dress up but still wanted to show I had style. Kept me going! Thanks for posting.
2:01 never knew those were fugazi!!
you got me super pumped for kartik, had heard of his stuff but never really payed no mind until now
Hmm, I have to disagree with the ref to the French photographers pioneering the term formal streetwear - I would say "Art Comes First", two friends who originally worked for Ozwald Boateng definitely have been working this style in a distinct way for quite some time. You also didn't mention "rude boys", a very British meets Jamaica-style crafted during the Reggae sound system music scene that was coming out of Britain and Jamaica in the 70's and further stylised by the 2nd generation Windrush era.
one of the og right here big up to. brands like kartik research ! how shocking it is that in todays time thoses piece are made without electricity ! RKIVE is also up there big up to all the creatives out there
Once again, what a great video wow wow wow
Even before watching the video,i love it.Thank you for covering kartik,as someone from india who aspires to create art through fashion, kartik is my biggest inspiration.Great work
What is the page for two French photographers
DHRUV KAPOOR UP NEXT!
fiye
Yo vids are such high quality. Quality > quantity for sure keep up the great work
rkivecity outbreak, fetus, garuda, aesthetic of resistance, leada, blueprint, please do check them out🫶🏽🫶🏽🫂
great vid. Samaaj studio is also reall cool
Love from india 🇮🇳❤️
Thank you for covering him
love the vid! it’s about time a brand truly represents our culture. India’s contributions to fashion, from manufacturing to intricate embroidery, rarely get the recognition they deserve beyond just production. great to see a brand bring that into the spotlight! edit: other indian brands you might wanna check out- prxkhxr, powerofhue, spacebiskit, noughtone, toffle and unreborn project.
ok 'Ilovetwinks' ☠☠☠
I'll add Kardo to that list as well!
Cant forget garuda
@@SidhantBahuguna a 100% missed garuda the best avant garde pieces
Corridor NYC, Wythe and 18 East make a lot of their products in India also.
this screams: unstoppable. Truly breathtaking pieces and story
4 for 4 📌

Fashion trends are cyclical, and this particular style had its peak between 2003 and 2009. A quick look at magazines, TV shows, and music videos from that era shows its popularity. About every 20 years, styles from previous decades make a comeback, and we're seeing that reemergence now.
formal footwear is very comfortable you just get the wrong stuff
cool vid, and I appreciate the brand shout outs at the end
tyler the creator is part of the satanic diddy network. These celebrities are sick and just evil.
thank u for plugging sum brands !!
👍🏼
What are these pants at 2:04 !!!!!!
Blondey McCoy was wearing 'eclectic grandpa' style years ago
I wish I could wear clothes this good but unfortunately my body produces insane heat and I will be dripping in sweat lol
Nah the ASAP NASt beef was weird. you cant call yourself a real artist when you are begging another nigga to acknowledge how your dress, especially when the OG pieces aren't your own original design. There was no concrete merit to his accusation. He should be dressing for himself not for the acknowledgment of other niggas. It just looked like a brokie just trying to get a response from a guy who was up. imo, Nast should've instead used that energy to focus on his rap career instead. Though i know who he is. I can't name 3 Nast rap songs
Is this whole video just Americans' reaction to discovering that gym clothes and trainers aren't what most people wear out and about? Most people wear smart shoes, maybe a shirt/ jacket etc. out, its just a case of if you wear it like a dad or you want to be trendy and fashionable, i dont think any of this is new or even belongs to one 'genre' or 'style'. Its just adults wearing cool clothes that are meant for adults, as opposed to wearing clothes for comfort/ meant for teenagers.
Subtitles or the brands you name would be nice, I have no idea what brands you are naming at 10:12. Edit found it: Plastica Gardenheir Clogs but u said it so fast haha
Tyler and ASAP didnt create anything, they both just take inspo from asian/japanese streetwear.
i love your videos, thank you :)
I think ‘formal streetwear’ can be seen from NOAHNYC tbh.
Drake's and ALD?
The intern look. Can't wear this past 25 years old.
awesome, thank you. inspiring
Great video!
ur way too focused on what semi famous people are doing, loafers are so dumb and represent so much white rich shitty fashion, there's no good way for people of color to wear it... what's next? ironic Klan hood? find ur own style and stop hunting other people ,who are just following trends and trying to create trends that basically revolve around the same thing.. which is clothes inappropriate together either because of age or situation or famous people wearing something and then not famous people copy it and call it a trend. The funniest part of this is ur discovery of Monk, some of us musicians have never not known him, and he is an actual legend of music and just different in so many ways. Not like rappers trying to mix prep bs and thinking they should be credited w/ prep bs... go to Boston with that shit
Great video/insights! 🙏🏽 ✊🏽
Killer vid, yo!
This is literally how I dress time to change yall caught up to me 👋
this style goofy asf
