I think you're probably right. We fell for the "it'll be valeted inside and out when you pick it up" We didn't expect it to be spotless but didn't expect it to be far from spotless either. Live and learn eh!
You will probably find a customer viewing the van took a dump
Hi, thanks for commenting...you might be right 🤢
I'm considering the 104x for my motorhome. Unless you're a particularly heavy user I'd say 4g is more than fast enough for touring use. Also the coverage is far superior to 5g which is almost non existent in many rural areas. Not to mention the 104x is almost half the price. All the best.
Hi Scuba, thanks for commenting. You make some good points...as for coverage...what made me stump up the cash for the 105 was the fact that it'll only get better. 5g is the future.
Hi, great video, lovely caravan, we are newbies too, we bought exactly the same 2023 model last October from Cosford Caravans, we have been away four times so far. We absolutely love ours. We had 180w solar panel fitted for all our dull English weather lol. We both hope you have many great holidays in the future. I have subscribed, if you come across any problems - we would like to know about them and vice verser 🌞
@mikebro2557 Hi, thank you so much for commenting. We've only been away twice so far but at four different sites. Very much looking forward to better weather and the chance to get away. We've got a solar panel but to be honest, we don't really know much about it. Just hope it's working OK because we are relying on the motor mover when it comes to parking 😅 Will let you know if any problems arise and will be very interested to hear if you have any issues with yours. She's at the storage yard at the mo. Seems a bit sad to see her there riding out all the rough weather. Looking forward to seeing her packed up, clean and shiny and ready for the road. Have you got an awning? We definitely want to get some sort of awning. Happy caravanning 😁
@@LivandTrekGoTravellingwe purchased a 3.2M wide awning from Cosford Caravans (I forgot the name of it) we also purchased a 3M wide plastic awning mat from B&Q online, don’t rely on the metal pegs that come with the awning because they will easily bend if you’re on a hard pitch, get hefty ones instead (4 or 5mm thick), you may find a small lump hammer is best for knocking the pegs in. One last thing - buy a tin of silicone spray and squirt a small amount into the start of the awning rail on the caravan, this will help the awning glide along so much easier without struggling. Happy caravanning
@mikebro2557 thank you 😊 Keeping fingers crossed for some January sales bargains 🤞

Great review thank you we are staying here Sept 2025. Did you get a quiet nights sleep or was it noisy.
Hi thanks for commenting, glad you enjoyed the video. Generally we slept well but we were set back from the road. The noise we encountered was from Magaluf revellers walking passed the hotel around 5am most mornings...returning to their own hotels further up the hill. Don't let that spoil your break...it's a good hotel. Have a great time 👍
@@LivandTrekGoTravellingI’ve stayed here 4 times in the last 2 years, loved it, food is amazing and yes every time I’ve slept well but I’ve been on a high floor with sea view every time In my opinion one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in a Mallorca. Might even meet you next September lol, look out for the single Scotsman 😂😂 👍👍🏴
Think you'll find was someone who viewed caravan before you who did dump.& don't get you replaceing cassette. Could got hosepipe in & some toilet fluid etc in it.bit over top getting new .wouldn't of put on here would of just spoke dealer's. Also cost carpet etc if they said they had done it.
Hi thanks for commenting. Replacing the cassette was a personal preference. I sure wasn't prepared to clean out someone else's crap...would you?
I think someone used the loo while it was on the sales ground, absolutely disgusting. They never give you a new cassette but in your case they should have ! We have been caravaning 35 years, it’s a learning curve , enjoy 😂 xx
Thanks for commenting. You might be right there 🙄
Whilst putting any dessicated crystals will pull moisture from the air it will not reduce the moisture in the air as the van isn't and can't be sealed from external air. Basically it's a waste of time. See Atlantic Caravans video on the subject. For 18 years we've removed bedding and taken it home for winter but left upholstery and never had an issue.
@steamdrivenandy6880 I think I've seen that video. Wasn't at all sure what to do with the upholstery, thanks.
¿DONDE??🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Hi..thanks for commenting. Believe it or not...this is on a shopping retail park in the UK.
Which other local tourist attractions would you like to visit?
You pay extra to buy from a dealer expecting it to be as perfect as a used van can be. This is a good advertisement to buy private and cut out the middle man.
There are pros and cons to both sides...whether buying from a dealer or buying privately. Of course..buying privately you get no warranty.
If folk can’t handle seeing poop on screen then they really need to stay in bed with the curtains drawn.
Hi thanks for commenting...alas that's the world we live in today and it never hurts to give a warning. Thanks for watching also.
Welcome to the caravanning world. Looks like you’re doing really well. Great first caravanning vlog.
Hi Amanda, thanks for commenting. Glad you enjoyed the video, we've a few more up and are hoping to get another out in a few days.
We had the same experience with the toilet when we bought our new to us van this year. The dirt was in the bottom of the cassette compartment not in the cassette! Disappointed but wasn't surprised, got my gloves on and give it a good clean. Happy caravanning and welcome to TH-cam. Cheers, Martin
@TheCaravanNut Hi Martin, thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry to hear it happened to you also. We both enjoy watching your videos, we subscribe to your channel 👍
They obviously more money than sence as alot of new carravanners today seem have.not as nice as used be in my opinion. As people seem be different breed
For our 40th anniversary we ended up aat Blue Dolphin in filey lola bit more exotic than swindon lol and our van was about 15 years old hahHa xxx
What you may find if you have a poor 5g signal, go into the settings just like what you would on your phone, and drop/restrict it to a 4G signal. which I have done this many times, because restricting it to 4g, I had a better through put on speed test than 5G. But as with anything you are totally dependant on your location and distance from the 'Towers and Network Provider
Kevin, thanks for commenting. Good suggestion, I'll give that a go next time we're out in the van. Thank you 👍

Hi to both and great to see another video from you. Very informative regarding the product and your experience so far with it. We have a box fitted to our motorhome as this was standard fit at the time for our model. As you have found totally depends on your location and distance from the 'Towers and Network Provider ' I believe. We also have a static caravan across from Anglesey and Puffin Island and this is very restrictive Radio Frequency attenuation/absorption and even reflections can be an issue due to our geographical location next to the rock faces. We tether the phones at time to our systems in the motorhome utilising EE, Vodaphone and site WIFI (Contention ratio dependent). Seems to work for us most of the time, other times we have found RF wilderness! ) We still work and manage 'Teams Meeting's ' when on Holibobs with few issues, stream 'Netflix/Sky Go/TH-cam ' on most occasions when the weather is inclement. Thanks again and look forward to more content coming.
Hi Steve, thanks for commenting. You raise some points there which tell me you're well sighted on the whole issue. We'll hopefully have another video out next week covering our stay on that sight and a couple of places we visited whilst there. 👍
New sub here. Interesting to see your conclusion that signal strength is paramount. I understand that even 4g can reach speeds of over 100MB per second with a strong signal, so yes, in my experience 5G is great, but often unnecessary as even a 4k video stream only needs around 25MB
@chrisyates399 Hi Chris, thanks for commenting and a BIG thank you for the sub, really appreciate that. You raise some valid points and when I thought about it..the main argument I could come up with for justifying the price paid for the 5g unit was that I was 'future proofing' 🙄
@@LivandTrekGoTravelling Yes, and I also have a Three 5G hub that travels on the road with us and agree that it's 'future proofing' however for most needs and just 1-2 people 4G is plenty as long as strong signal.
@chrisyates399 Is that three hub locked to their network?
@@LivandTrekGoTravelling No - I paid to have it unlocked when the Three contract came to an end.
@chrisyates399 Ah I see 👍
Hi guys and your channel's a great find 👍. Found you by binge watching channels for the Phoenix + 644 before we pick ours up our 2023 model hopefully in late November. Not a million miles away from you in North Shropshire. But back to this vlog on WiFi....... When we gave up caravaning in 2021, our WiFi set up was a Solwise omni directional roof mounted antenna (£150 fitted), linked to a 4G MiFi (£30), plus a selection of 20GB PAYG sim cards at £10 each. If we ran out of data on the cards, we'd tether our mobiles (unlimited data) to the MiFi. Internet speed and coverage, like you've already discovered, depended on the SIM provider but we never seemed to get less that 20mps on 4G, enough for streaming in 1080HD. In the Phoenix, we're going back to basics and just going to stream via our tethered mobiles with unlimited data on two different SIM providers, no extra kit involved. Interested to know more about your choice to go with the Avtex 5G system in lieu of mobile phone (or MiFi) and external antenna? Maybe catch up one day on our travels? 👋👋👋
Hi Paul, thanks for watching and for commenting, we appreciate it. As for why I chose this unit...before buying it I only knew avtex were a popular company in the van market. I did a little research mainly on TH-cam and actually decided on the 104 model, the model below this one. I didn't even know the 105 existed until an installer mentioned it. Best of luck to you with your new van and happy and safe travels 👍
You really need to check the speed inside the van just using your phone to compare with the Avtex external aerial and router.
Mark, thanks for commenting, you're spot on and I have done...just didn't film it. As I say, it's very early days and I need to test more over a longer period. I'll probably do a 6 month review. Do you caravan yourself and have WiFi installed?
I am I between Motorhomes, new one arrives March. Previously used Netgear Nighthawk M1 4g 3sim with no external antenna and worked amazingly until recently. Have purchased Starlink mini but hope to only use normal when 4g5g sim unable connect so interested in whether it’s worth installing external antenna. Thks
@markfisherg I considered starlink before installing this unit...from a performance point of view do you think they're the market leader?
@@LivandTrekGoTravelling honestly not been able to test myself yet but from what I have read online seems to be bulletproof but very expensive even with the roaming pause option. I have bought it more as a back up and use in Europe if 4g5g fails but would prefer to find the perfect or as near as best sim option. Best of luck
@markfisherg Thanks, you too, happy and safe travels in the new van 🚍👍
Hi both new subscriber thanks for your honesty it will help a lot on new caravaners what to look out for. We have toured for over 7 years now and have now gone seasonal in Criccieth we love it there hope you enjoy your travels look forward to following your channel 💕👍
@lizleonard3681 awww thank you so much for commenting and subscribing. We both very much appreciate it. We're very close to Criccieth at the mo. We're at Haven Porthmadog. Do you have far to travel to Criccieth? Our caravan storage is only a 10 min drive away and that works out well for us. Seasonal might be something to think about in years to come. Hoping to explore as much as possible. It's stayed nice and dry all weekend for us. It's been cloudy but North Wales is beautiful whether the sun is shining on it or not 😊
I have a avtex amr104x with a smarty sim and a ee sim so far this summer I’ve found that the ee sim works better and in more places than the smarty .
@paulharrison904 Hi Paul, thanks for commenting. Small world...my three network sim is from Smarty also. As I mentioned on thr video, my WiFi is with EE...which personally from a coverage perspective I believe is the best network in the UK. I haven't got any experience of any other van router type but I think avtex are a quality piece of kit 👍
Smarty sim works on the Three Network. Most other non primary sim card providers piggyback onto one of the main network providers
We have the avtex 4G router with a vodaphone sim, we have not had any issues with caravaning and watching netflix etc, even when our phones have been struggling in the same location. It's a great bit of kit.
@@ChrisGetsOut Hi Chris, thanks for commenting. Which model do you have...also is a dual sim?
@@LivandTrekGoTravelling Avtex WiFi AMR994X 4G, yes it is dual sim, really pleased with it.
I wonder, say without subscription to a specific sim supplier you could use a card before purchase of a month or so to test signal. So you could carry a group of different sims try for the best then subscribe for about a month.
@georgepiercy7501 Hi George, thanks for commenting. Yes, you probably could but the issue with travelling about in a van is that if one particular network sim works well in one area, has good coverage there...chances are..next site you go to..that sim might have poor coverage. You're constantly at the mercy of the Network providers 🤔
Do you find your van WiFi speed varies signicantly, site to site?
