the ribbon is only help us understand the volume and the curvature of each hair lock, u dont need to use it all the time when construct ur hair sketch, think of it like simplified body into simple shape when u were doing study, u dont need to draw box and cylinder all the time when u construct the body, he dont do the ribbon method in the end of the video becuz he alr knew how to do it without construct the ribbon, like when u do something to an extent u can do it without using guidline anymore
