Watch my latest version! th-cam.com/video/uDLEhzPuuz8/w-d-xo.html Medley of some of the most recognizable classics from the movies.
Absolutely beautiful!! Please publish the sheet music. I know a ton of people who'd buy it!
I just found this while looking up sondheim chord on google so I could play a joke on my roommates piano, but this is legitimately one of the most well constructed and clear to follow teachings of classical and theatrical music structures I've seen. If you ever decided to come back to this, I would be happy to see it! If not, thanks for what you did here, it was a gift!
1. Warner Bros. 2. 20th Century Fox 3. Indiana Jones 4. Star Wars 5. The Muppet Show 6. Jaws 7. Wallace and Gromit 8. ??? 9. Family Guy 10. ??? 11. EastEnders Ed Zanders, what were songs 8 and 10?
G-SUS
You are truly amazing! 🙂
any chance you have sheet music for this amazing arrangement?
It could be worse Ed, we could be waiting for a Gin and Tonic that may never arrive.
Is there any sheet music for this?
great playing!
Very nice effort and video! One thing only to say, that on sattie's piece the composer doesnt cycles between tonic and 5th (as you probably meant - G=Tonic --> D=5th). The key is in D major (2 sharps) and it also sounds like D major (since we have C#). So gymnopedie cycles between the Subdominant-4th(Gmaj7) and Tonic-1st(Dmaj7). A dominant chord can never be heared, said or named ''dominant'' if there is a major 7th on it (if the major 7 extension is Real note and not just a flourish, ornament or chromatical approach etc ofc - on gymnopedie the major 7 extensions are real notes. Thats why we dont hear any I-->V progression and instead we hear it as IV-->I).
Cool detail: Into the Woods begins on the dominant of G Major and ends on the tonic of the same key
Also love the inclusion of "You're The Best Thing To Ever Happen" from his last show.
Great job.
Thanks for this lesson, I am in awe.
Great video. I'm showing my students.
Nice ending with Sunday in the park, personally I think Sunday has some of his most beautiful music, Passion too.
I love this!
Oh my goodness! I am in awe. It’s great to have things broken down so simply because it makes it really easy to follow 😊

Thank you all v. much for the kind comments; in all honesty I did this years ago as a test for the set-up thinking i'd do more (better!) takes - will do a more polished version soon, any suggestions of things to play? (Also, the titles of what i'm playing are, in order: Warner Brothers, Pearl and Dean, 20th C. Fox, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Muppets theme, Jaws, Wallace & Gromit, Grandstand Theme, Family Guy, Magnificent 7, Eastenders [plus indulgently cheesy ending...!])
