"Dinners ready!!"my mom shouted from downstairs. "Coming!" I said as I began to sit up from my bed. As I did I got a phone call from an unknown number, I thought it could be a collage saying I was accepted because I applied to a few last month. I pick up the phone... "Hello? Hello? Sweetie, I know you don't know me but I know you, that thing down there is NOT your mothe-" the call went to static, so I hung up. "Well that was weird". I said as I walked down the stairs towards the kitchen, ready to see 2 plates of delicious food sitting on the counter. "HEY...mom, where's dinner?" I felt a drip on my shoulder. We don't have any leaks in the house, or at least, I don't think we do. In a crackled voice I hear, "Right below me." I look up to see a monster with my mom's head on it, bones bent the wrong way and it was on the ceiling. "WHAT THE-" I saw white lights bringing me from every angle, I sit up and look around. I'm in the hospital. "Are you ok sweetie?" I heared a sweet voice say from my left. Who are you!?" I ask still trying to process. "I'm so sorry I couldn't help you in time." "WHO ARE YOU!" I screamed loud enough for the doctors to come running in. "Im the woman from the call, I'm your aunt. Your mother died right after you were born. You got kidnapped from the hospital the night this place got broken into. All the police found was a trail of black goop on the ceiling. It took me years to find you and by the time I did, you hung up on me. By the time I got to your house, it was too late." The lights began to flicker and it all went to black. I was back home, it was all a dream. I heard my mom from downstairs. "Dinners ready!!." I got up but I remembered my dream. I poked my head around the stairs, just enough so I could see the bench. It was just like my dream, no food on the bench, no mom in sight. I ran back up to my room and rang the number from my dream. "Hello?" "HOW DO I GET RID OF THE THING." "What thing, who is this?" "THIS IS YOUR NEPHEW, HOW DO I GET RID OF THE THING?" "JAMIE, IS IT REALLY YOU, I THOUGHT IT KILLED YOU YEARS AGO! " You need to make a mad dash for the door, run as fast an you can to, 1234 Potato Lane, do u understand?" "I'll be there." I run down the stairs and out the door. I look on my phone, the adress is only 4 blocks away!, I'm sprinting with nothing but dim street light to light my way. I didn't dare look behind me as it could slow me down. I see a sign for Potato Lane and I'm at the far side. I can see the house in the distance getting closer and closer, I can hear something chasing after me but I keep running. I'm three houses away and I begin to run towards the house. I get to the door, and slam it shut mehiend me...
