Sorry I missed this comment. My time with Irene is pretty personal I can say that It was recorded at my former studio "Muthers" Sausalito , CA. At the time she lived right across the bay.

Yes, she lived in San Francisco at the time. This was the most difficult time of her life. She would 'officially' get divorced by 1991. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I truly appreciate it. I've tried to include all the artists she had worked with over her career. She never wrote her memoir to the best of my knowledge so my book will probably be the only real biography of her life. Had you never posted your duet with her the world would have forgotten about it. Thank you for keeping her memory alive. I sincerely wish you all the best Joe.@@eklectrikmusic

She was offered a big $$$ gig in Vegas that she turned down, and was heading to Brazil - She asked me to go with her, but I had business responsibilities at the time. She was an amazing talent, a huge diva, (deserved IMHO) and spent far too much time alone.

Irene didn't like all the "smoke and mirrors" as she called it in interviews. She was only interested in the music. There are other opportunities like that in her career where her management at the time wanted to get the PR representatives of Michael Jackson to represent her after he had passed away. Things did not go well since she didn't want to give control of her career to anyone at that point in 2009. She had an amazing experience in Peru once that she documented on her web site. It is a photograph she took of what is now referred to as the White Star of Peru. It's under the tab "Travel Sites." She wrote a song about it on her Hot Caramel CD called Soul Beat. She described the inspiration behind the song in one of her podcasts on TH-cam. The fact she became a recluse is what drove me to write this book. The pandemic permanently changed the world. There was more that happened that people overlook unless you do your research. Last year Hurricane Ian got very close to Largo, Florida where Irene lived. As far as I know, she rode it out alone. As someone who would never stay in a house during a hurricane I can only assume it was quite stressful for her to endure. That was about a month before she passed away. You are right Joe, she spent too much time alone. Her battle with her record company permanently changed her in profound ways. Of course, there is more than than just that experience which affected her world view. Thank you Joe for saying that about Irene.@@eklectrikmusic
