Exploring a HAUNTED old paper mill built in 1854, abandoned since 1970's! #urbex #urbexing #spooky
มุมมอง 8621 วันที่ผ่านมา
This old paper mill is pretty well-known amongst urban explorers. It's been abandoned since the 1970's, and supposedly the original owner's ghost haunts the place, but we didn't pick up on anything supernatural. A super-cool piece of history to explore!

A sad sight to behold. An old farm house filled with the owner's possessions which included piles of collectible, decorative glass, dolls and toys, clothing AND a birdcage with a skeleton inside it!! SO CREEPY!

Exploring the SUPER CREEPY Camp 30! Canada's last remaining intact World War 2 Prisoner of War camp
มุมมอง 72หลายเดือนก่อน
The best way to spend a lovely autumn afternoon is exploring a spooky, old, abandoned POW camp, the last remaining and intact one if its kind in Canada. Originally a boy's school, Camp 30 became a facility for prisoners of war in 1941, and during its time it housed over 900 high-ranking German officers. There are some interesting tales surrounding this place, so read up in on it if you want to ...

Did yah find any treasures
A few crystals! But most were too attached to the rock and would break if we tried to remove them, and we didn't want that to happen. But I got a few loose ones!
That's in Woodstock Ontario baby!! an old Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) station closed in 2004
Wow, it's been closed for 20 years! Crazy!
Lol what's with all the graffiti these days 🤣 I find that to be a popular subject to paint on walls these day's 😅
Yep, it's like they have to paint the most offensive thing they can think of, and that thing is usually penises, lmao
@@KundaLunatic 😆 🤣
I know that place,I spent a night in the jail back in the late 70s!
Wow! No way!
@@KundaLunatic And the cops gave me a ride home the next morning! LOL!!
@@fuzzwack1 Haha that was so kind of them. lol
Another cool find, pretty trashed , looks like it's seen better days, how long has it be abandoned
I have no idea, but probably a long time, judging by the amount of destruction in there. The basement was flooded with probably a foot of water, which had frozen over. It looked like the water had been there for a while.
@KundaLunatic yah it's cold out. I've got some flooded caves I've been waiting to freeze over so I can explore without getting wet
Oooo...caves.
@KundaLunatic I was thinking of checking out the pow camp, any idea how security is around there? I'm just wondering if I'm gonna have issues of I drive up there, lol
There was no security both times I was there. The last time we noticed two cameras but they were pointing at the one building that is fenced off. There is also a trail that goes through the place so it's very accessible. People walk through there all the time. So you should have no problems. Enjoy! It's an awesome place!
I remember salvaging some nice iron-legged walnut tables from the old Schrafft's Candy factory in Boston in 1984. It fit perfectly in our apt kitchen in Somerville, Boston. They were transforming the factory into some tech office spaces.
That's awesome that you got to rescue a little part of the factory! It's sad when these places are demolished and gone forever.
Wow cool place, super dark, kept waiting for Willy Wonka to poke his head around a corner.
It was awesome! There are some dark areas, but then there would be spots where the natural light would come in. The sunlight lighting up all the decay was so beautiful <3
@KundaLunatic I love the older places still in decent shape, kinda gives you a windows view into someone's lives, but you really can't beat the decaying look I just love it for some reason 😀
Same here. There's something really beautiful about the decay and destruction...it's like some things turn into art once they start to break down. That's why I feel the need to capture as much of it as I can, because once these places are demolished, they're gone forever.
@KundaLunatic my thoughts exactly 👍
Very good video :) what is that crunch under your shoes when you walk in there lovely sound👍🙂
Thank you! The sound is just the random debris that's all over the floor. Lots of crushed brick and glass.
Understand there is usually a lot of glass in such places..it will crack more times under your shoes when you are out in places 🙂
@@KundaLunatic Must have been a lot of glass you walked on in there...
Yes, there was a ton of broken glass. Vandals smashed the windows, unfortunately. I'm just glad I have thick-soled shoes!
too bad they will destroy so much 😪 good you have thick soles you don't want the glass to go through the shoes ..will you visit more places..
Like the vibe of the place, I could spend the night there, lol I love those older places
Me too. But it always makes me sad to see these old farm houses left to decay, or gone entirely because of development.
Awesome view, nice and quiet, wouldn't want to slip there, long way down 😮
It is amazing up there, and yes, very high! A special place with a lot of spiritual and historical significance to Aboriginal peoples.
Love the old camcorder!
Creepy, I like it ,another awesome place, would make for a interesting night explore 👻
It was a lot of fun! An interesting place, for sure.
GET OUT OF THEIR MY DAD PEES IN THERE DURING ROAD TRIPS 🤮🤮🤢🤢🤢
lol, he's probably not the only one!
The door test, Lol. I just did the same thing the other day, stupid doors closing by themselves 😂 and that poor bird, I've seen a few animals but never a bird still in it's cage 😢
It takes a lot for me to feel disturbed, but that bird cage disturbed me. The door closing by itself was creepy, even though I know it probably wasn't a ghost, lol. But I kinda wish it was a ghost ;-)
@KundaLunatic I've been tempted to get some equipment I could use when exploring some of the creepy places, lol see if I'm alone or not 😅
I can usually feel if there are strange vibes in a place. I'm super sensitive to stuff like that. Camp 30 definitely had some vibes. My camera batteries all died so fast when I was there.
@KundaLunatic yes i find some places just give me a weird feeling like I'm not alone, and the weird sounds don't help, lol, but only some places while other places actually give me a calming feeling like there glad I stopped in ,one of the reasons I love exploring these old places and camp 30 is def on my list to explore lol been making a northern list lol
Yep, same here. I have been to some places that have a warm feeling, like whoever was there loved the place and those feelings stuck. It's sad when people pass and have to leave the homes and possessions they treasured. And it's especially sad to see those things get disrespected and trashed.
Awesome building, love the creepy dark hallways, nice find 👌
Thank you! It's an amazing place, a must-see.
Is it still possibly to get into here, im planning on going this Friday any tips for avoiding security and where to park
There was no security when we were there. Everything was boarded up, but we got in through a broken basement window in the back of the building. There is a small parking area just before the gates.
@@KundaLunaticthank you ended up going last night around 7pm, went thru the place you said, we were inside for about 20 minutes but heard stomping and whispering so decided to leave
It was probably kids who were inside tagging. But I can understand wanting to leave because it would be so creepy after dark!
Relaxing. 😊
It was a very peaceful moment, observing it enjoying its meal :-)
We get sphinx moths all the time. Never seen them as a caterpillar though. Just beautiful.
It is beautiful, isn't it? And cute too, with its little tail and feets :-) It was the first time I ever saw one, and I've never seen a Sphinx Moth before. I'd love to though, because from the pictures I saw, they're huge!
It is a wonder Doug Ford has not sold the lakefront property to some developer.
Amazing!
It is an amazing place!
Those tall grass is so unique!😃😃🍁🍁
It was quite the experience pushing through them. And afterward to be up on a hill, and looking out at our trail through the grass. Super cool :-)
Very good video 👍looked very vandalized in there 😪what is that crunch under your shoes when you walk in there nice sound more of that 👍
Thank you! Yes, there was a lot of vandalism, but not as much as in other places I've seen. The crunch sound is all the debris that's in there. Probably a combination of glass, tile, dirt and drywall.
You must have stepped on a lot of glass when you're out in desolate places..
Yes, there is always lots of broken glass. Thick-soled shoes are a must :-)
They might be fry of a larger predatory fish. Minnows have no teeth capable of harming you. They look more like baby trout.
There's definitely Lake Trout in that lake.
I know how good it feels to have a belly so full it sticks out for everyone to see must feel amazing digesting an entire food meal whole
Place needs a bulldozer paint job....😏
Out of curiosity, roughly whereabouts is this garage ?? ...... It looks vaguely familiar
Near Still River.
Nice!👍👍🏿👍🏽👍🏾👍🏼
Thanks for posting the video! Looks beautiful
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it :-)
soooo cuuute!
Awwww, baby peep!!
Cormorants have destroyed mature cottonwood forests on the spit and are now destroying forests on the Toronto islands as swell. There are no natural predators for them and they systematically destroy every habitat they colonize. The soil becomes caustic with their gauno and the only thing that thrives for years is stinging nettles. The absence of trees causes erosion and many species vacate the surrounds.Meanwhile, the cormorants just move on to the next stand of trees and go to work destroying that as well...Yay.
Sounds a lot like humans...yay.
Cute baby bird
Cant believe you have not gotten any comments, I'd like to do this trail someday. This section is no longer part of the VTA but it is still part of the Transcanada trail system . How many days did it take for you to make iot thru from spanish to elliot lake?
Thank you for commenting! You should definitely do this section! It is really beautiful. We did it over 9 days, hiking about 10-15 km a day, with one day off to relax. It's too bad it's not part of the VT anymore, but at least it's still hikeable (runs along the snowmobile trail for the most part).
