Good knowledge unfortunately bad demo!! I guess as long as you are the one teaching and you got the know it all attitude you sound very believable! Overall very awkward, holding the torch, the solder, applying the flux, and I thought I was bad DIYer, well now that I know that there are instructors teaching the wrong way, I feel ten times better about my work!!! Shame that there are unsuspecting students observing this and learning it this way.., for the money they spend on HVAC school it's a shame!!!
MAPP gas (methylacetylene-propadiene propane) has not been sold since 2008. Anything labeled MAPP or Map Pro are marketing names today and this more expensive yellow bottled gas has been proven on other youtube channels to only burn about 100 degree F hotter that blue propane bottles.
Is this still going on?

95/5 is not 95% copper and 5% tin. It is 95% tin and 5% antimony. And only flux the pipe, not the fitting. MAPP means Methylacetylene-Propadiene

I never had any luck with map gas......Turbo torch and Silfos 15.....
If you are soldering for HVAC, you would want to flux the female part sparingly so don't have flux all over inside the HVAC system. With flux, a little goes a long way, a very little. You just need to coat the metal surface, not glob it on.
Acetylene -C2H2 is not in MAPP gas. The original chemical, composition is methylacetylene-propadiene propane.

Will you explain the difference between a standard heat pump and a cold climate heat pump. I refer to the actual mechanical differences
Cold-climate heat pumps incorporate several features that allow them to extract heat efficiently from cold outdoor air. The most important is the inverter-driven, variable-speed compressor. The compressor speeds up in cold conditions, allowing it to maintain heat output at temperatures well below 0F. In milder conditions, the compressor slows down, delivering the just amount of heating needed while maximizing efficiency.
Mapp is not an acronym for Multiple Application nor is it acetylene.
One observation, for Mapp gas the name comes from the original chemical composition, methylacetylene-propadiene propane.
Happened to stumble upon this, actually am getting quotes for my place in the fingerlakes for heat pumps, actually had halco here this morning, we will see if they compete with my other quotes.
