Joseph P Kennedy was a brilliant crook.
It’s a birth injury and it should have been made known to everyone. Hiding it was the worst thing they did because it resulted in further injury to her

I think Eunice Kennedy Shriver saw her sister Rosemary Kennedy again in 1960.
Rosemary Kennedy died of natural causes.
I think Rosemary Kennedy’s failed lobotomy took place on November 19, 1941 because her father Joe Sr. suffered a debilitating stroke on December 19, 1961.
I wonder what Rosie would have been capable of achieving of the birth went right?!
Kate Clifford is a master at storytelling. This was fantastic, definitely makes me want to get her book.
Great job! She’s a great speaker!
I think Rose Kennedy took the risk in the hope those 2 doctors could help since all other methods had failed.
Bad that the hierarchal system stopped that nurse delivering the baby without the doctor. He wasnt needed. Glad we have progressed in medical understanding since.
Rosemary was the only moderately attractive looking one.
Has the movie been black listed? Why has the movie been hidden, just like Rosemary.
Hard work is not enough, you need education now. What's wrong with that?
Evil.
Makes you wonder if they were hiding something besides her intelligence
Psychiatry kills.
❤❤❤ A shot of inspiration.
Sad. She was the prettiest daughter looking just like her mom.
Wity their money couldn't they hire two three ppl to look after Rosemary without resorting to such cruel and extreme measures.
Who is author of this
Such a pretty girl.
Were Charges or a complaint filed against said lobotomist? THe man is No doctor, he's akin to a butcher. This is an out rage

It must have been so embarrassing for the Kennedy’s to be seen in public with a less than perfect child
Ko/Miigwech brother. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰😊🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
44:14 - Joe had a stroke and coun't walk or talk very well - HA-HAAA! SCREEN-FIVE! SEE WHAT YOU GET. Karma's not a good thing, now, is it, Mr Kennedy?
MIDWIFE: I'll hold the baby's head inside if you'll keep your legs closed. If I allow your baby to be born, Doctor will be very upset. NORMAL MOTHER-TO-BE: OH WELL! If that quack fires you, I'll give you a job, I'm rich and fuck what my husband says. Give birth to my baby NOW! The child at 23, possibly married, has a good job, is living her life to the fullest. enjoying her power-grab as oldest sister and oldest child. Would have done great things. INSTEAD..........
I was critical of Rose and Joe Kennedy.
Both the author and many comments here reveal a considerable lack of basic understanding in both the historic contexts, the Kennedy family and the difficulty of having a child with considerable learning disabilities. We weren't there, so in our gross arrogance we judge, but that only betrays a ridiculous shortsightedness so prevalent in our culture today. Some of the authors comments are grossly subjective not historical factual.
Did Joe Kennedy know what happened with the baby? The Dr & nurse should have been hung out to dry. This is unbelievable. ❤😢😢😢❤
The irony of naming the foundation for disability as "joseph kennedy jr foundtion" when joe jr thought people with disability should be sterilised and looked down on them.
President John Fitzgerald Kennedy has always had a special place in my heart because he was killed on my son Kelly's second birthday. November 22,1963. To make matters worse for this country 9/11/2001 The Twin Towers were hit by those airplanes which was my oldest son's 45 birthday. Jerry was born September 11, 1956. Thank God their sister was born a girl between them in 1958. I have mentioned that "Hopefully there will never be such a tragedy happen to our Country ever again in our lifetime because I only had two boys!"
mafia style to use force to silence & hide
Fabulous presentation backed by researched facts and supporting documents. An unforgiving appalling story about powerful political ambition unleashed on a most vulnerable young family member. Clearly all that is laid bare is quite an atrocity that the parents committed against their daughter. I can only imagine the fear the other siblings must've lived through when they realized their most innocent sister wasn't protected by their parents who instead felt compelled to protect their reputation because of her. It's hard to reconcile how Rosemary was treated as an inconvenience, liability, neglected, pawned off on others, even medically maimed to squelch her in early adolescent years. The only redemption of the story are the measures taken by some of the surviving Kennedy members of the family to set up foundations and organizations to protect the most vulnerable members of our society. The only positive of such a dark story that can prevail and redeem the name.
She was by far the most attractive kennedy
It was common for people of wealth to shutter special needs children. There are several accounts of European royals doing it too.
C'est un grand explorateur de la nature durant le 19 siècle,il a laissé un trésor de livres qui enrichissent la bibliothèque scientifique de l'humanité.j'espere être comme lui....
What a pretty young lady she was...
This makes me so sad. My Brother was born in 1950, a delayed birth, like Rosemary. His damage was far more severe. He had Cerbral Palsy. My dad arenas didn’t know until it came time for him to walk. He didn’t walk until numerous surgeries were done on his legs, ankles and groin. He was 26 when he took his first steps and could walk with the assistance of a walker. He had seizures and epilepsy as well. He, later on had a brain pacemaker (cerebellum stimulator and was the eighth patient to ever have one implanted in his brain. This calmed down the much of the spacicity, enabling him to use his arm and hands with better control. He passed away from a heart attack at the age of 65. I was just thinking about him this morning, still crying on my way to work at all he had gone through and the pain it must have caused him. That’s when I saw this lecture. I am so thankful that my parents never put him away and he was able to live a peaceful and happy life at home. I remember my mother, worrying her whole life about what would happen to him. If she passed away, he weighed so heavily on her heart. In the end, he passed away before she did. I wish she had never worried you never know how things are going to turn out.
Awwee she's beautiful,,really pretty;)*
Hold her back for 2 hours that is insane who was this nurse she should have been put in jail
This is one of the worst saddest stories poor Rosemary and sad for her mother and siblings her father was an horrible man
I did not know the full story. And this was a wonderful presentation, and I'm sure it is a wonderful book. I especially did not know what a bad mother rose was. I didn't realize that she did have power. Really excellent presentation.
Now Rosemary Kennedy would be given drugs to calm her down and control her behavior.
I think the lobotomy is barbaric.
I suspect Eunice saw Rosemary for the first time in 1961.
