@@myslikulhotv1694 En sanoisi, että vaikeampaa, mutta hieman erilaista. Epämukavampaa kyllä, ergonomia on uudempia vetureita huonompi.

Edo-junaan jos päätyy Sr1, kyse on luultavimmin siitä, että muita veturityyppejä ei syystä tai toisesta ole ollut siihen käytettävissä. Sitä pyritään välttämään juurikin siksi, että Sr1 ei toimi työntävänä veturina. Z -veturijunat ovat käteviä junia sähkövetokaluston siirtoon oikeille paikoilleen, koska siihen sopii mikä tahansa. Jos vaikkapa Helsinkiin on ajautunut suunnitelmaan nähden liikaa Sr1-vetureita, voi sellaisen - tai vaikkapa kaksi - siirtää Kouvolaan ilman, että pitää erikseen ajattaa pelkkiä vetureita. Lapin yöjunissa sama juttu.

Virallinen ohjekirjan mukainen nimi on "virranasettelupyörä", mutta ei kukaan sitä sanaa oikeasti käytä. Sillä tosiaan ohjataan ajomoottorivirtoja (A). Modernimmassa taajuusmuuttajakalustossa sen sijaan on vetovoimakahva, jolla säädetään vetovoimaa (kN). Vaikka säädettävä suure on eri, käytännössä toiminta on samanlainen. Mitä enemmän kääntää pyörää tai kahvaa, sitä nopeammin kiihtyy.

20.12.2023 Sr1 IC 68. Tiedätkö kuinka usein tällaisia kulkee kun ite oon kuvannu vaan neljä: IC 6 (Sr1 3052), perässä Sr2 3237, IC 150 (Sr1 3090), perässä Sr3 33XX, IC 178 (Sr1 3105), perässä Sr2 32XX ja IC 66 (Sr1 3010) perässä ei mitään.

Miksi Sr1:sellä tuo "saksisanka?"-virroitin ja muilla "yksipolvi?"-virroitin. Onkohan nuo nimet ihan päin mäntyä vai muistanko oikein...

Vaiko sittenkin kaarivirroitin ja saksivirroitin en muista millä on mikäkin...

@@attipekkajames Se on aika vaimea kumahdus, ei kuulune videolla. Pendolinossa se kuuluu melko vaimeasti ohjaamossa.

@@_ilkkuuni_ Molemmat ajaa asiansa kyllä, mutta ehkä mä kallistuisin Intercityn kannalle. Saa muokattua tilanteeseen sopivia kokoonpanoja, on esteettömämpi liikkumisrajoitteisille, ja niistä löytyy tarvittaessa monipuolisemmin eri palveluja.

Sr2 and Sr3 have vacuum switches, or I think the correct term is "circuit breakers", since they are able to cut the current even when it's short circuited. I'm not 100 % sure of the exact location, but they can ne heard from outside quite well (also, from inside). Sm6 has vacuum breakers at least with 25 kVAC system. For 3 kVDC I don't really know since we don't use them on our side of the border.

@@laju HOnestly, in USA I have no chance to stay next to locomotive and listen to it. I live next to subway(metro) and railway station in New York is underground, and people are let to a platform only when train comes. As of different location in New Jersey or Connecticut - they are far from me. On Long Island - there is no electric locomotives just EMUs which are powered from third rail.

@@gregodessite I in fact visited New York City in last fall. I rode the LIRR and the subway. :) It was interesting to see how the rail systems have evolved there mostly independent from Europe.

@@laju When are you going to visit NY next time? There was Brighton Train Parade in subway on September 28 -29. Very close to me. I even have a video narrated in Russian. As of DC trains in Russia, as far as I know, they use magnetic circuit breaker. It rotates pneumatically, but used electromagnetic power for arc suppression.

Osassa on "autoradio", mutta osassa ei. Ulkomuistista lueteltuna VR:n kalustosta Dm12-kiskobussissa radiot olivat ensin ja sen jälkeen sellaiset on löytyneet Edo-ohjausvaunusta sekä Sr3-veturista. Muissa ei ole, mutta kuljettajat saattavat kuljettaa mukana matkaradiota, tai vastaavaa äänentoistolaitetta.

@@laju joo, itteeni sillai kiinnostaisi kuljettaja koulutukset nyt ku on ajanut tie päällä jo jonkin verran niin vähä vaihtelua erilaisis maisemis. Onko Seinäjoella mahdollisuus tähän kuljettajan vaihtoihin vai onko se vain niiku tietyillä asemilla?

Equipment starting with "Sm" are electric multiple units, as in this video, which is a class Sm3 Pendolino. You are probably talking about "Sr"-locomotives. Sr1, the Russian based loco has an old school main circuit breaker with high pressure air blow to suppress the arc. The Sr2 has a modern vacuum circuit breaker (Sr3 Vectron also, as far as I know.)

@@laju Are Sr2 and Sr3 circuit breakers also pneumatic? If yes - do they work as loud as on Sr1? This sound in familiar to me. I lived 13 years in Odessa by the Black Sea, before I moved into USA

Yes, they are also pneumatic, except a different type, where the separation happens in a vacuum. Not sure about the sound of Sr3 breaker, but in Sr2 the sound is quite loud, but a different from Sr1.

On the Finnish side (Helsinki -> Vainikkala) the Finnish driver drives alone, except when in training. On the Russian side (Vainikkala - St. Petersburg) the Russians usually have two drivers. They were experimenting single driver for a while, but lately there's been two.

My video editing skills are close to none, thus so far I haven't tried anything else but some plain text. :) The train consists of one VR Class Sr2 loco pulling 3 or 4 (can't remember which) double-deck Intercity coaches, the last one having a driver's cab for push-pull operation. I can record train rides occasionally, although I don't have any fixed plans when or which routes. I don't travel by bus, so no bus videos expected.

Kyllä. Toijalan ja Tampereen välillä myös Turun junat nykyään ajavat parhaimmillaan 200 km/h. Turku-Toijala-välillä ajetaan edelleen suurimmillaan 140 km/h.

@@laju Oliko sulla millanen juna tässä vedossa? Näyttäis ja kuuluis kiihtyvän aika nopeaan tahtiin.

Sr2 + kolme kaksikerrosvaunua muistaakseni. Eli kaikkein joutuisin yhdistelmä, kahdella vaunulla kun suurin sallittu nopeus putoaa. Täyttä kiihtyvyyttä ei toki ollut tarpeen käyttää, ehtii kevyemmälläkin "kaasujalalla".
