South Cumberland Day Trip Dec 3 2021

This is a day trip to see Boardtree Falls and Greeter Falls on a hike along the rim trail in South Cumberland St. Park, Tennessee. It is a repeat of the same trip over a year ago but hopefully better with better video. It was an awesome day and a great trip. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Backpacking Frozen Head St. Park, A Day Loop

A 2 day hike that turned into a 1 day loop because of high winds. There are some long range views, rock formations, and a great ridge walk. The first day of a muti day hike in one of Tennessee's nicest parks. There are waterfalls, water features and a nice walk in the woods. The weather started out fantastic but by the end of day 2 it appeared there was going to be severe weather moving in so the trip was cut short...it rained a lot the next 2 days.

This is day 2 of the Collins River Loop. There are some water features, rock features and a rugged trail with lots of rocks and mud. This was a workout but the weather was fantastic...what a great challenge and an accomplishment when completed.

Part 1 of a 2 part very nice day hike in Tennessee's Fall Creek Falls State Park with waterfalls, gulf views, rock formations, swinging bridges and a great walk in the woods. Tempratures were in the low 40's with mostly cloudy skies. This is definately one trip that should be taken.

A day hike to Virgin Falls State Natural Area with rock formations, waterfalls, sinks, and streams. Temperatures were in the high 20's to the upper 40's, partly cloudy skies...perfect for hiking. This is a day hike in two Tennessee state parks, Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls. Both parks are small but packed with great views of cascades, falls, and rock walls. Cummins Falls is a fairly new park having only been established in 2012 and a newly opened visitors center that is pretty impressive in itself. This is a day hike in South Cumberland State Park with waterfalls,rock formations, and long distance views. The trails used were Fiery Gizzard to Dog Hole to Ravens Point back to Fiery Gizzard for a loop of about 10 miles done clockwise. I am using my phone to record so it is shaky. I am getting a better camera and believe this should be watched on a smaller screen to help control the vibration...

Really nice video Old Guy. It appears you are from the same general as myself and some of my regular hiking buddies. We loosely call ourselves the old geezers. We hike every few weekends, mostly in Big South Fork. If you ever want to join some other old men on day hikes, sometimes overnighters give me a shout over on my channel. Big South Fork is huge and very diverse. Come along and let's see what we can find!

So I kind of watched these backward lol. That's a good hike 7-8 miles a day The waterfall was sure pretty. You have to be really careful of the roots on the trail. I hate how the camera never makes the hill look as steep as it really is :)
Agreed about the camera not showing the steepness and the roots can be tricky. Thanks for the comments.
The frozen head park looks amazing. I love how the trees can just grow anywhere. Looks like you had a great trip. I love living in a place where I’m surrounded by hiking, and I really like videos about other people enjoying the outdoors too! Cool channel! I’m following!
