Unashamedly, we must expose those of us in the Body of Christ, His One Holy Catholic Church on this earth and in this one Universe, who despite their intense and well-cultivated erudition cause problems for the sake of causing them in those of the innocent. Unfortunately, Monsignor John F. Wippel is one of those people. There is a name for it, covert narcissism, which he practiced and suffered from. I have explained in a very lengthy post below made some years ago the details of his abuse which I am much, much healed from given that I have thought about and researched what kind of experience I had with Monsignor John F. Wippel. I know after his death a student wrote and prepared an apologetic eulogy where she was anticipating the same experience that I went through or at least some intellectual hand wringing concerning the quality of her paper but the bright light she shined on the late Monsignor was not only opportune for his reputation, though he might not have tried to victimize her or had become repentant - possibly, but also this throws shade or cover for his attacks on reasonable men independent of his positivistic and modernistic take on Thomism as I have described. His philosophy is this beyond his covert narcissism: live and speak Thomism without using your reason first and using the mentioned system as a crutch for your thinking without thinking first. Being a Thomist is not a requirement of the Church nor is being an acolyte of Monsignor Wippel's methods set in stone for anyone. However, the sad and most vicious part is he did everything in his power to try to control and force that. That is his sin. It is a shame I am the only one to speak on this publicly, but in the Name of the Lord I must.

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Matthew 27:50‭-‬51 KJV When Jesus Christ died on the cross. He tore down the veil in the temple that separated us from God. And only the priest could go in and pray to God for us. Because Jesus Christ has torn the veil spiritually we can go to Jesus Christ ourselves. No need for a confess to priest anymore. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:7‭-‬9 KJV

It makes me wonder few people ever spoke out about Monsignor John F. Wippel’s psychological abuse of others who have a normal intellect. He used his authority and famed erudition to intimidate the unwitting and unwary into abandoning reason and following a system, namely a modernistic appropriation of Scholasticism via his narcissistic sociopathy. He attacks with all his fury natural reasoning just to break it and conform it to unnatural system purporting to be approved philosophy. Monsignor John F. Wippel has not apologized or acknowledged his personality disorder to this day even despite his retirement.

Now that I see it Monsignor Wippel is copying Martin Heidegger and not letting the Classical and Scholastic philosophers speak for themselves nor let their works speak for themselves but create a compendium of ideology that must be enforced instead of learned. This is not the vision of Pope Leo XIII but sadly the vision of Jacques Maritain and Etienne Gilson all modernists in their positivistic approach to Scholasticism. Again like Father Francis Gignac SJ, had told us in Biblical Greek class that when you learn Scholastic philosophy all you do is remember the principals instead of using your natural reasoning. That's pure poison and bad pastoralism from the hierarchy. Monsignor Wippel is a pure fanatic and an unreasonable and abusive man no matter his deep erudition. What we need to do is uncover the truths of Scholasticism using our own minds to understand instead of being brainwashed by Monsignor Wippel and the very ideological method used by the philosophical school of Catholic University of America. Philosophy is not math or chem. It must figured out with the heart and the mind ... the soul ... to understand the Truth.

Again, I say it with no shame. This man is a narcissistic sociopath. I have successfully understood and finally have undone his grooming/brainwashing of my mind which harmed me cognitively and psychologically. He breaks and controls the unwitting to follow his perception of his modernistic Thomism instead of using a reasonable mind which is abhorrent to his sociopathic nature. He has gathered many accolades and praise but he is not a good man or even a moral one despite his appearance as philosopher and priest.

Why does the priest who listens to the sinner’s sins during confessional ask for a donation in exchange for expiation? Why does the priest sometimes ask for double the donation in exchange for the sinner being able to have a future sin forgiven or expiated? Just last week there was a story in Utah of a 26 year old admitting to murdering an elderly couple and stealing their credit cards during a confessional. The Priest during confessional asked for a $1,000 donation by credit card in exchange for forgiving the sin of murder & theft. Isn’t this an abuse of a confessional? During the confessional the priest asked for an additional $1,000 just in case the sinner wanted to repeat the crime with a second victim. 54644

What is sad about Monsignor John F. Wippel is that he would persecute you if you were not following along with every bit of his own walk and talk. He would break you and groom you into his personality and that is what he is getting away with. He is not a pious or holy man, but a narcissist sociopath.

    • @mythologic
      @mythologic ปีที่แล้ว

This is the issue that is causing the scandals and disharmony among good and faithful Catholics: clerical narcissism which Monsignor and countless other "old fashioned" priests, as they call them, suffer from. He is also a modernist. A true Scholastic respects FIDES QUARENS RATIONEM or SENSUS QUAERENS RATIONEM instead of a brainwashing scheme perpetuated by Monsignor Wippel, Father Kurt Pritzl O.P., and so many maniacal, senseless people at the CUA Philosophy School.

this is such a great helpful video.. I want to share about the victim/scrupulous thing is from judgemental and abusive people without healthy counseling or healing... i promise.... we get so hung up on it. i grew up being nitpicked for every little thing by my parents and always being forced to apologize and I was physically abused for it, even tho my folks never admitted their own faults. Scapegoat kids bear the guilt and judgement . i was about 5yers old, sleeping on couch at a party full of drunk people, and apearently I woke up to being punch in the face by my father while he screamed at me to get my thumb out of my mouth. i was humiliated and wet myself on those people's couch. That was 40 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. I know other people like me and we drive people nuts, but also we have a flashing red light **EASY TARGET ** As I recently started back to confession and communion a few months ago (and Im on the spectrum) I struggle with what is and is NOT a sin because people get in my buisness A lot... I have already been harrassed for taking communion even tho I met with the priest TWICE and communion TWICE and was absolved.... SO iM TRYING TO BE GOOD... BUT ITS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH.... YIKES But I dont want to be like this, I promise. This is a friendly helpful video that gives me some perspective to contemplate on and pray about.

The Conqueror of Death As the conqueror of death, the prophets foretold that God was going to conquer death. The Prophet Hosea (about 790-750 BC) wrote, Hosea 13:14) "I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes." The Prophet Isaiah (about 760-710 BC) in chapter 25: Isaiah 25:8) "He will swallow up death in VICTORY; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for THE LORD hath spoken it." The Apostle Paul (about AD 50-60) confirmed words of the prophets when he wrote to the Corinthian Church in 1Cor15, 1Cor15:54-57) "...then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is THE LAW. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." The Lord Jesus Christ told his disciples that he was going to be betrayed, delivered into the hands of sinful men, put to death, and be raised again the third day. (Matthew 16:21, 17:9;22,23; Mark 9:31; 10:33,34; Luke 9:22; 18:31-33; 24:44-48) Here The Holy Bible, The Word verifies that God would conquer DEATH and THE GRAVE, and rise again from the dead. If a person does not believe in the Words from The Bible, or if they only take some words, or change meaning of words, then they could come up with different conclusions: the devil's work. The Lord Jesus rose from the dead as prophesied via the Prophet Isaiah... Isaiah 26:19) "Thy dead men shall live, together with MY DEAD BODY shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead." [This voice saying 'My Dead Body' is the voice of The Lord Jesus centuries before it came to pass. The Apostle Matthew recorded the fulfilment of this prophecy; at least fulfilment in part...] Matthew 27:50-53) "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many." He was the FIRSTBORN from the dead - as he died and resurrected conquering these three: 1) The Devil 2) Death 3) Hell He did this as a PERFECT MAN and SERVANT of THE LORD. When The Apostle John saw The Lord Jesus on the Isle of Patmos through vision, this is what occurred... Revelation 1:12-18) "And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have THE KEYS of HELL and of DEATH." The Apostle John saw The Lord Jesus Glorified! During the Millennial Reign which will come soon, he will be the fulfilment of the following: ...The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father... [Isaiah 9:6] ...The Lord of Lords and King of Kings... [Revelation 17:14; 19:16] ...The Lord Shammah... [Ezekiel 48:35] ...The Lord Tsidkenu... [Jeremiah 23:5-6] Isaiah 53:10-12) "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." [The LORD knew beforehand that man would go the wrong way. God made a way to save man; and it was for THE SON to come down from heaven and become JESUS CHRIST. He died to pay the price for sins by the Adam race.] Believe on The Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.

There is None Righteous Psalm 14:1-3) "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one." Romans 3:23) "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" 1Corinthians 15:3,4) "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" Isaiah 53:10-12) "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Blind and Deaf The children of Israel had become blind, because in a sense - they wanted to be blind. By the prophet Isaiah in chapter 06, the Lord tells Isaiah... "...Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they shall see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed." (vs 9 and 10). When Jesus of Nazareth was in Israel at that time, and when the Jews, especially the leaders rejected them - the Apostle John in chapter 12:39, 40 records, "...they could not believe, because Isaias said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." The Apostle Paul late in his ministry in Acts 28:25-29: "...after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and they will hear it. And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves." Do not be blind nor deaf, but believe in God's Word - and understand that the time is short, but SALVATION is at the door... Acts 13:38,39) "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto the forgiveness of sins: And by him ALL that BELIEVE are JUSTIFIED from ALL THINGS, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."

The Apostle Paul late in his ministry in Acts 28:25-29: "...after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Now that I see it this man is a complete sociopath using the guise of philosophy and knowing every in and out of Scholasticism ... or so it seems ... to act as a controller for so many people and discourage any understanding of it other than his. I know him personally, unfortunately. The purpose of life is discover the Truth as you are and not as a clique orders even if he is a part of the hierarchy that needs sadly to rediscover a man's free will. A person like Monsignor Wippel is trying to make sure you do not understand but follow.

Rhetoric to Paul was secondary. Primary he was an evangelist with focus on declaration. He was not interested in dialectic.

This man attempted to brainwash me in November 1999 for attempting to show I could understand Classical philosophy using only critical thinking. We can learn without abusive control. He is a closeted narcissist.

Grisez is not very well known, but a brilliant philosopher nonetheless. Currently studying his book: God? A Philosophical Preface to Faith.

Allah revealed this to me: "Islam is the fastest imploding religion in the world, as more and more Muslims are realising that Mohammad and others (breakdown given below) fabricated the Quran to persue their own personal agendas. Islam is nothing but 7th century Arabic tribalism. Muslims are much better and bigger than this oppressive ideology. I love all Muslims as people, but dislike the Supremisist Quranic Ideology they follow". 1000% support to all Ex Muslims, from 7 billion of us (includes many Muslims)...Lovers of Truth. Breakdown of Quranic inputs as reaveled to me by Allah... 10% Mohammad 30% Plagerised from Christian, Jewish and Pagan texts. 58% Added on after Mohammad. 1% by Satan ( Mohammad himself reaveled this. He later removed these verses). 1% Eaten by a goat (as reaveled by Muhammad's wife Ayasha...he married her when she was 6years and he was 53years). 0% by Allah. 👍

This was marred by the inappropriate voice change at 44:36. He came across as ridiculing Paul's genuine appeal as an old man and prisoner for Christ.

Agreed! He's a man of many talents but the fear of God ought to curb our parading of gifts in appropriately. I've noticed the diminishing of the fear of God in other scholars' manifested in different ways too. Such a pity!

Definitions of the different kinds of sin is the best help for those unfamiliar with confession. 👍🙏😇

Cradle Catholics don't know how lucky they are! RCIA class I went to presupposed we understood what sin is as well as which kind of sin it is. Where can I find a definition of what 'bad behavior', to use a general word is what kind of sin? How can I become more sensitive to things I should mention in confession? I try to forget things that will cause tension so I won't have seizures. This makes it hard, if not impossible to remember things I should confess. Any suggestions here?

This is late; but, if you still need help. Usually, there is a little booklet with a list of things that help you in your exam of conscience. Ask a priest or a faithful fellow Catholic. God bless you!

We must continually seek to improve our conscience by _self reflection and true repentance_. If you go to confession, dig as deep as you can, and remember that no sin is too great to be confessed, you will be able to reach the innermost parts of your soul. If you can dig deep enough to truly come to God sinful and sorrowful, and leave, forgiven and filled with grace, you will begin to see the world more perfectly in the likeness of him who dwells within you, Christ. God Bless!

It's so much better in Latin in a confessional. It is a solemn rite which really makes you focus on the gravity of your sins and your need for God's grace. When you hear the priest absolve your sins with, "Ego te absolvo", you are left with no doubt that the priest has the power to forgive sins.
