Janis BULAVS (1949) is an extraordinary Latvian violinist,
whose professionalism, individuality and artistic skills
rank him among the world's most famous and recognized artists.
This exceptionally talented performer has a fascinating tone,
natural virtuosic ability and a heartfelt expression.
The prominent Latvian composer, pianist and music critic,
Imants Zemzaris, writes:
" His singing violin lines, with generous currents of portamento,
sometimes remind of an exalted operatic voice.
Bulav's tone quality makes one imagine a turbulent stream which,
uncontrollably surging forward, destroys all obstacles in its path
Larisa BULAVA (1950) is a prominent Latvian concert organist
with extensive performing experience in Latvia and abroad.
As a soloist and ensemble musician, she has given many concerts in all the former USSR republics, Germany, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Israel, Canada and USA.
Since 1977 Larisa Bulava has been teaching (as associate professor since 2001) at the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Music Academy and since 1992 she is the organist of the Riga Cathedral.
