Music, Spoken Word and Miscellanea
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 มิ.ย. 2017
Music, Spoken Word, and Miscellanea houses a collection of rare-ish audio recordings that are not easily found elsewhere. The focus of the channel is on spoken word, particularly poetry, as well as leftfield music from privately pressed records and library music.
These recordings, in some instances, offer a unique listening experience. The emphasis lies in preserving and making accessible these often elusive audio snippets, as they might hold some cultural and historical significance. Even if that significance is simply not forgetting this cultural detritus and ephemera existed.

Ralph Marco - Sweet Angel
A short but lovely piece of 1960s library music. "Sweet Angel" by Ralph Marco feels pastoral and lush, with beautiful flute lines drifting through, but something of the eerie underneath. Very evocative track blends easy listening with a hint of the mysterious, creating a perennial, nostalgic atmosphere. Perfect for fans of vintage library music, contemporary classical, and anyone who appreciates the charm of evocative, instrumental soundscapes.

Derek Scott - Untitled

Here’s "Untitled Track 2" from the Psychoses Suite-a piece that feels somehow more unnerving because it lacks a name. It sits alongside titles like Tension, Schizophrenia, and Nightmare, yet remains unclaimed, adding to the sense of something elusive and troubling. Short, unsettling, and edging toward madness, this track captures a creeping, quiet dread that lingers long after it’s over. If you...
Robert Way - Nightwatch

Kind of eerie; strings set off a sort of saddened tone, the voices and saxophone create a sombre atmosphere. Then everything thickens up; but the mood does not really lighten.
Johnny Hawksworth - Flute Flair

Title says it all really - jaunty little flute number. Very light; very fluffy. Library music to fit a lovely sitcom scene.
Joe Sherman - No Holes Barred

Pretty provocative title from Joe Sherman - lovely guitar riff, brassy parp and hammond. Library music as it should be.
Joe Sherman - It's What's Happening, Baby

Another Joe Sherman number - up tempo, nice drums and brass. Definitely would not feel out of place in the Austin Powers soundtrack. Lovely easy sax; pretty groovy.
Joe Sherman - Like Now!

Joe Sherman's composition for Synchro Fox - it almost has a Northern Soul-esque quality to it. Pumping little library number, brass and drums. Nice.
Period Portrait No. 2

Quirky little piece from Roger Roger on Chappell. It is from a collection of loosely classical sounding cues. A slow wistful theme for flute, guitar, organ, bass and drums.
Larry Page Orchestra - Dingo

Quite a groovy little number from Larry Page and the gang on Contour records. This was written by B Foote. Larry Page was the manager of the Kinks as well as a producer, writer and arranger.

Take Six - Dream Theme Version 1
มุมมอง 3.5K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is from the album Patterns attributed to Take Six. Take Six are essentially an unknown set of session players. The album as a whole is a bit mixed in terms of tone - there are some absolute bangers on there though. These Dream Themes are lovely, gentle, and enjoyable on a Sunday evening. Written by Paul Rupert Lewis.

David Snell - Charlie Is My Darling
มุมมอง 1.7K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is the David Snell arrangement of the traditional song Charlie is My Darling; for two harps, one on each side of the stereo spread. It is taken from the Studio2Stereo album Harp and Soul. This was a sub-label of EMI seeking to demonstrate the potential of stereo through easy listening and light classical records.
Sight and Sound - Woodstock (from Woodstock)
มุมมอง 2K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
Taken from the album Movie Themes Of Today. One of the more collectable albums on Contour, sought-after for the version of "Fragments Of Fear" that this record contains. In addition to that track is this cue tucked at the end of side 1; a groovy version of the Woodstock main theme.

Hi, it is definitely on this album. If you go to discogs via this link: www.discogs.com/release/29459155-Betty-Misheiker-Johnny-Pearson-Lets-Pretend you'll be able to see the track listed "A6 The Rain".
any idea what year these were pressed? very interesting
The recording took place in March 1970 and I'm certain would have been pressed very shortly afterwards by a firm in Newcastle.
