Genesis- the Dividing Line If Tony Banks Had Done a Solo
What if Tony Banks had put a keyboard solo during the drum breakdown section of 'the Dividing Line?' I decided to create one myself in his style to see what that might sound like. Hope you enjoy it!

I really like the CAS album but just for my own listening preferences and pleasure I’ve created my own seven track, 48 minutes version of this album in a new playlist on my iPhone. For this abridged version of the album I’ve excluded Not About Us, If That’s What You Need, Uncertain Weather and Small Talk. For me, the whole complexion of the album has now changed. In my opinion what I’m left with is a stunning and dark seven track album that is obviously more concise and it flows much better, as a single body of work. This is the album that should have been released, with all the other songs perhaps being released on a bonus b sides cd in a deluxe version of the album.
I happen to like Uncertain Weather. I’d swap that with Shipwrecked which I really don’t like.
@@B3keez1: Yep. No arguments here. There’s certainly a case for suggesting that Uncertain Weather is a better fit than Shipwrecked. It has a darker feel to it and therefore might be more suited to being included with this selection. It’s a 50/50 decision for me but I’m willing to go along with you on that one.

I was waiting for someone to say this. Agreed, way too fast…not so much the note values but certain parts come in much too early. The execution itself is excellent though.

Well done! Is the Fading Lights lead sound a standard patch on the Wavestation? That is weird how Tony didn't take a solo in that spot. I guess he was trying to sell us on the drummers. Yes! There's a patch called 'Mini Lead.' He used it on Fading Lights and I used it here. I saw the band on December 10th at UBS Arena on Long Island, NY. The band was great except for Phil. That was really sad for me seeing him in such a state. This is my favorite band after all! Anyway, Happy New Year to you too!

Nicely done Really wish Korg would do a re-issue on this, or even a Behringer clone. I had one back in the 70’s along with an Odyssey I’m sorry I ever sold them.
I was also thinking about that for the last 2 years! Make it a Super-Pro Soloist, simplify the sound selection process, have the same exact sounds plus new programmable ones, no sequencer (Behringer!) but instead include an adjustable reverb, delay, chorus, flanger and more. It would sell like hotcakes.
I mean, the playing is spot on, and to be honest, I could do a lot of banks stuff when I was in bands in the 80's, but I had a Korg 700s which is no Apr Pro soloist. Having the "actual" keyboard is amazing and so important. Sounds fantastic

Taken me 12 years to stumble across this. Whilst the Lamb is a lot to take in and for me the likes of Selling England, is a more enjoyable experience, some of Tony's work is his best ever....like this. Very well played. Loved it. Thanks.
