I wonder if they make it short to accommodate for stretching over the course of a season or two of use. I'm noticing the tightness of the recent gear that I've been demoing.

This set did not have a reinforced T. That's a custom option that really depends on how often you play.

My floot-to-knee measurement is about 19", so it's right in the middle of XS and S. I'm leaning towards XS if I go with Bauer.

To be honest, I don't recall much about the pop on this blocker. I do try to pay attention to it to see if there's any above average performance when I demo gear, and I didn't notice it with this blocker.

These were a 32", and I probably would fit a 31" in this pad's sizing, especially with their flat (poofy?) boot.

I don't remember the wrist mobility. How did it work out for you?

this is a custom pad thats an option in the customizer. for a stock hl2 its gonna be the tab

@@LukeC-im9kj my sales guy showed me a pad that the stock hyperlite 2 toe bridge ripped off after less than 5 days on the ice. I went with the mach as well

@@ndsports316 im in a hyperlite 1 and it has that toe bridge, had it since it first came out i love the way it folds away when in rvh so the pad is sealed perfectly on the post. imma stick with my hl1 i dont want the hl2s because they removed alot of things i love about the hl1s

I'm not sure how well I could compare Vaughn's description of its closure to other companies' break angles, though I'm glad that you can decipher what I'm trying to say! Haven't heard about Simmons in a while - hope you get a chance to try this Vaughn XP 70 degree break to provide a comparison!

Yes, I'd say they have different shapes and break angles that they feel unique compared to each other. Depends on how you currently play and how much you're willing to adjust yourself to your gear!

The blocker is catching up to Bauer and is substantially more comfortable and lighter than the 5. The 581... I don't have words. I had to reject it when my set arrived and ordered a 600 custom instead. It's like a street hockey glove you'd find at Walmart.

Ah, so you felt pretty strongly about the 581 that you didn't want to continue with it, eh? I like the innovations with it though I can see how the changes might turn some people off. Hope your 600 break works well for you!

@@ChrisLeYEGI have the 600 in the 5 but was talked into trying the 581 based on nothing more than pictures. I’m all for trying the latest innovations. When it arrived at the well-known goalie store, I was standing there with their two top representatives and we were initially hesitant to verbalize what we all were thinking. After the cat was out of the bag, we tried finding words to describe this monstrosity of a glove. It’s just awful! I’m not liking the pads so far either honestly

Yes, I used the stock option for the Hyperlite 2, which is the Tune-Fit Strap 2.0. I prefer it over the Mach because there's more slack so I can adjust how snug it is, though the setup of this version has a loop that I can sometimes feel on the upper inner calf.

Yes, the top-of-the-line gear remains quite expensive, though I think there's a lot being done at different price points to offer goalies the equipment they need at their level of play. Hope you have something that works well for you!
