hello, do you also have noises from the camera recorded as well? (manipulating the camera, lens AF motors, pressing on buttons, rotating dials, etc.)?
No, no camera noises. This has onboard recording, as well as the ability to run the audio through your camera. I’ve never experienced camera noises on either the separately recorded audio nor the camera scratch audio.

Hey! I'm curious.I own at one point the wireless go II I was able to access my Internal audio files via my ipad And smartphone is well Is obviously my mac! I upgraded To the wireless pro and now I can only grab the audio When they are hooked up to my computer , I wonder why that is??
Great question. I’ll have to look into that. Are you using the Rode Central app from the App Store to access your audio files?
@DetailsMatterTV I don't have to they Show up as Harddrives! But with the Go II I could Grab the Audio Via Rode central App via Ipad Android?
@@nucentury08yea I’m not sure. Never tried with the RWP. And I do have the Go II’s but I’ve also just used that system with my computer.
Awesome! I enjoyed the show thanks!!!
Do you happen to know if there's any way to get the Rode WP timecode to sync/match or drive the timecode on an iPhone app such as the Blackmagic? I tried it and it's not the same even if they are both set to real time of day timecode . . . .
I actually just started using the Blackmagic iPhone app. I’ll have to look into this. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Can you record time code and audio with these
Sure can. Once you get the hang of the menu, using the timecode is a breeze
@@DetailsMatterTV timecode sync with multi camera?
@@MonstroInLAyea. In the video I showed you how to use the deity timecode system with the RWP. But you can also just jam timecode from RWP to your devices. It’s pretty simple.
@@DetailsMatterTV ok I only want to use the rwp system without the deity
I am sorry. I tried to watch it but the music was just too annoying. Anyway, wish you luck with future videos.

Thanks for the feedback 💪.
What is the quality of the audio send to the camera, is it usable for something more that syncing? Is is stereo?
It’s actually not bad. You just have to make sure your in camera audio settings are dialed in
Great content, very useful, but Music too loud and not necessary when testing the mic
Yea that’s a mistake I won’t make again. Thank you for watching and for the encouragement 🙏
I honestly think you should re-upload this with the music removed. It's clearly potentially a really good video and so useful but I literally cannot hear the recordings due to the music. There's no shame in a reupload and I would rewatch.
Thanks for the feedback.
You cannot mute from the RX; you'll need to mute the TX if you set up the 'Ø' in RØDE Central. The lack of this option significantly reduces the functionality of this set. You can't do it with software, either. What a stupid idea not to provide such an option-unless someone knows how to do it remotely.
I just received my Rode Wireless Pros today and so far am very impressed with the sound quality. Was outside recording a test podcast in the wind with the dead cats on, using the default settings and we were so impressed! I didn’t read closely about setting the O button on each tx and thought I was placing markers as we were recording when I was actually muting myself! lol Btw - I have much respect for the TH-camrs I watch online. Until one actually starts doing it, they have no idea of how much work is required to pull of a quality production; yours included. I am not at the level of critiquing white balance and didn’t even notice it as a problem and the scene switching I thought that was neat and saw it as a break point in editing. Your video impressed me and the helpful comments from the others have made me think of how to make my recording professional. I’m not even out there yet! All private test recordings so far and not even close to what you have got going on. IMO you are well on your way and have another sub from me! Also, you must have used the Lavalier microphone and must have had it tucked away as I couldn’t see it. Sound quality was very good from it too! Cheers everyone!
"in this video..." *Video ends without anything else. Misleading title. Lies, lies and more lies! 😂
😂
Damn, that sucks.
True, but at least they made it right in the best way!
I LOVE this mic. I actually use it to capture audio for my guerilla shoots, podcasts, and short video clips. I could not be happier! I use the 32-bit float exclusively and transfer the files directly to and from my computer using the micro SD card.
I'm with you! The more I use it, the more I appreciate its versatility and simplicity. Having 32bit float on top of my camera is great!! Thank you for the comment 🤜🤛
I would've liked to have seen some comments on how the Rode system works with other lavalier microphones. I've tried it with Sony mics and it doesn't work. I also have a Sennheiser lav mic.
Interesting. I wonder if it has something to do with the locking mechanism 🤷♂
22:58 likewise!! I had an issue with the RWGII .. and they replaced it! Their customer service is A1!!
Exactly 🫡
How old is this mic? 1, 2 years? Cost just like the H6 recorder. :)
It’s a couple years old. Yea it costs the same but it’s a completely different tool that serves a different purpose. I’ve been using it for a while now and it’s a great mic for 36bit float during run n gun shooting
Thanks 😊
@You Bet 🙂
Thank you so much sir for your packaged information.
You’re very welcome. Thank you for watching.
What mic are you using on this video at your desk?
I used the Rode Wireless Pro throughout this whole video.
Still today... Hurry up Joey hurry up, 🤣 🤣 🤣 ❤
🤣 The best things come to those who wait 🫶
Thank you for your extremely thorough review! My Rode Wireless Pro system is arriving on Feb 3rd and I'm excited to use it. My buddy (fellow Brit) and I do an audio podcast called The Wrong Side of Hollywood, and so with this system we are hoping to record more shows and videos out in the field. Thank you.
You’ll love it! The 32bit float and timecode features are extremely useful and makes post production pretty streamlined. I’m working on a video comparing the Rode Wireless pro and wireless go II system against the newest Saramonic Blink 500 ProX two person system, which is solid for the price-point. Thank you for the comment and encouragement! I’ll definitely be checking out your podcast brother 🤜🤛
So good Details Matter. Super talented!!!!
Thank you brother 🙏
That plate of barbecue chicken and sausage looks amazing!
You have no idea! The Takis Mac and Cheese and homemade potato salad was unreal.
Yo this dudes barbecue is ridiculous 🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥
That is a very helpful video. Thank you.
Thank you for watching 🤜🤛
Problem, every cable company will start a streaming service and in order to have everything you had on cable in the 2000-2010 you will have to pay 3 times as much on individual streaming channels.
Are you talking "Cable Provider" (aka Time Warner, Dish, etc.) or "cable network" (discovery, peacock, etc.)? You might be surprised how various cable networks are owned by the same corporation. There are only 6 or 7 companies that own all of the networks, and people no longer need 600 channels; they only need to subscribe to the networks that have the shows they watch. The Discovery network has a ton of channels under their network that are all available on the Discovery App, which is like $8 or $9. So I think some will benefit, and some cable diehards will stay until all of the advertiser money dries up and everything goes to paid subscriptions.
Remember when cable started? It was commercial free… can we go back to that?
bro the first ad for tv was in like the 50s how fucking old are you
I don’t remember cable tv ever being absent of commercials. But that doesn’t mean you’re wrong 🤷♂️
It just means more people will be pirating the games. I watch the Cheifs game and didnt need peacock
You also didn’t need cable TV
Hi, thank you for the review! I was wondering, does the microphone start recording the "camera backup audio" when I press record on the camera? The recording button on the actual mic is just for the 32 bit mode or do I have to press it also for the internal backup audio of the camera? Cheers!
Thanks for the comment! No, unfortunately, pushing the camera's record button does not trigger the recording on the mic's 32bit float recorder. You have to remember to push the record button on the mic (and push it to stop recording) in order to get that backup 32Bit Float recording. It's a great mic tho! By implementing the right system, I rarely forget to push record.
@@DetailsMatterTV Got it, thank you for the quick answer! I mainly shoot run and fun documentaries and I'm currently going from an heavy Ursa setup with XLR and everything (24bit internally) to a Lumix S1H which has 16bit internally. I was looking for a solution that gives me at least 24 bits easily, but it's pretty tricky in certain situations with this system. Do you know any other system that could fit my workflow? Thank you in advance! (I currently own a Sennheiser MKE 600, but if I get a XLR to 3.5 cable it would still be a 16bit audio for the camera preamps...)
Yea you’re kinda handcuffed by the camera’s capabilities. I like the M3 MicTrac as a solution for your setup; you just have to maintain a process for production so you don’t forget to press record (and end the recording when your shot is finished).
Quality Australian company - from product to support
💯
Thanks for the detailed video. Just started using this kit myself. I'm new to video and audio, and it has really improved my output!
I'm pumped to hear this Marshall. Thanks for the comment. I'm excited to hear that my content is useful! Media production and your storytelling will change lives. Hopefully, my content can help make the learning curve just a little shorter.
Good content. Accessible. Good presentation. Well scripted. Well lit. Good audio. The B roll choices were nice. But cutting to a different camera angle every four seconds was extremely distracting. I wouldn’t think doing this level of technical explanation, you’d need to optimize it that much for the short attention span theater crowd.
Yea you’re absolutely right. That was the general consensus from many other people here in the comments as well. Going forward I think I’ll only utilize a second camera angle for specific situations. Thank you for your feedback and encouragement. I really appreciate it.
Amazing review! High quality content and editing! You’re a true professional! The EDM music was so inspiring too! God bless you and your family! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I'm grateful for your encouragement. God bless you and your family as well!
The RODE Wireless Pro is my favorite, but it does not deserve the 'Pro' moniker. Also, you must be trying to make a MultiCam in Premiere because you have to work so hard at it. Now for the details: 'Pro' systems do not have prominent branding to photo-bomb the camera. Pro systems do not have reflective surfaces to flash studio lights into the camera (as seen in a RODE-produced video!). Pro systems do not make a lockable lav ring that loosens on one side when you think you're locking on the other side! That last part ruined a recording when I forgot to warn a producer that RODE has a crazy stupid, non-intuitive way of locking the lav to a transmitter. The locking ring operation is NOT INTUITIVE! Why does a user need a class to know how to use the locking ring on the lav? But, as I say, the Wireless Pro system is still my favorite. But, I curse RODE for the low-class, non-Pro big branding on all three units and the surface reflectivity on the receiver. 'Pro' systems don't do that! Timecode? It's a lot of work to get it set up on the RODE Wireless Pro system. There's a MUCH better way to sync'ing clips in a MultiCam using Final Cut. It's called First Marker. After the shoot, I put a marker on something I can identify in all the angles and Final Cut will look at the audio ONLY AROUND the marker and compare it with the audio around the other markers and then sync the AUDIO (NOT the markers! The markers only guide Final Cut to a small bit of audio around each marker to frame-match the clips) perfectly, even if you weren't exactly right in placing the marker. My hour-long, six angle multicam is sync'ed in less than a minute. So, I edit FAR FASTER NOT USING TIMECODE! Got a camera that was starting and stopping during the shoot? Not a problem in Final Cut. A marker on the first clip, then all other clips with the same angle name will appear on the same track in their correct positions. Finally, my one question here is: What do you think is the best setting when exporting audio from RODE Central?
I usually export in 32bit float 💪
How can you sync tc to atomos ninjas?
Good question. I’d have to look at its functionality. I do have the Ninja V+ and the Shogun Connect and I think they both accept or offer timecode, but I’ve never used it. But if you can jam timecode into the monitor/recorder, my guess it would be a fairly simple process.
So ya hit record on your cam and the 32bit triggers record aswell?
No you have to make sure the mic’s transmitter is recording. The 32bit float track will be found recorded separately from your camera on the transmitter itself.
Glad to hear that this new system doesn't require the RØDE software to get the audio files off of the transmitters. This makes me actually want to get it.
I know, right?! That was really frustrating prior to that firmware update on the Wireless GO II.
@@DetailsMatterTV - Didn't know about the firmware update. I'll check that out right now. Still, having 32-bit-float would be nice.
@@JaredRibic yeah, you can pull the audio track right off of the transmitter now, just like you can with the wireless Pro. They did a firmware update maybe a year ago that fixed that really dumb issue.
If it's ok with you may I from time to time ask a few questions?
Heck yea! It would be my pleasure my friend.
Thank you for your presentation. AWESOME. I do have this system also.
Thank you my friend! I appreciate your encouragement. I love this system. It’s so good. A lot of filmmakers are turning to it because of the pro features. I know people that are running the system to a mixpre or zoom f6.
Very good video! I have two big issue with M3 and I hope you can help me with your experience: 1) internal recording is only 16 bit and I didn't find a way to change this setting by software. 2) 32 bit recording don't start when I press rec on camera: I have to press rec on mic to start recording so it's very frustrating! Is there a way to fix these issues? Thanks
Thank you 🙏 Let’s start with your second question first. Unfortunately there’s no way to get the mic to record internally when you press record on the camera. You always have to remember to push record in the mic (and then again to stop when you’re done recording your clip). This is frustrating for me too, especially when going back to locate the clip and corresponding audio file. Regarding only recording 16bit; which file are you utilizing (primary folder WAV file, or the RAW folder files)? The 32bit float files are located in the RAW audio folder once you pull the internal MicroSD card out of the mic. I hope this helps.
@@DetailsMatterTV thank you for the answer. 16bit is the file paired in the clip video
@@SimoneNunzi yea the 32bit float is gonna be the file you take off of the mic/recorder. You’ll find it in the RAW folder on the MicroSD Card
@@DetailsMatterTVso you can't record 24bit directly on the camera? I tought it sounded bad when connected to the camera directly. Almost like the in built mic in an empty room. Is it possible you were recording stereo when you connected it directly to the camera. It shouldn't sound like that. Even some of the cheapest 60$ mics sound better (Diety mini).
The information here was very detailed and nicely done. I have the very first wireless go model when it launched as single receiver and mic unit. I didn’t know they came out with other models but you nailed it.
Thank you so much!! Super grateful for your positive feedback. Sometimes the comment section can get ruthless, so it’s encouraging to hear comments like yours.
I've been amazed by RODE's after-sales service too. They've responded to emails about setup and compatibility within a couple hours several times. They even fixed my equipment under warranty in a different country when the damage was probably my fault.
using wireless pro along with deity tc1 (3 pack) just starting to upgrade all my equip for timecode. using blackmagic 6k pro and canon r7, jam tc from wireless pro to tc-1 tskes a little fussing with settings but system works great. tc to blackmagic 6k just WORKS!!! canon r7 is audio timecode havent quite got all bugs worked out but very promising!! also using tascam x8 which will accept tc from ultrasync blue, BUT U NEED ULTRASUNC ONE to tie it all together, now we r talking about a lo of tweaking to get it all on same tc!!! and a lot more $$ than i wanted to sink in biz but once u start it takes a lot of syncing havent FIELD TESTED YET!!
Yea diving into the timecode feature wasn’t the most simple to figure out, but now that i understand how it works it’s pretty simple. I haven’t tried the timecode with the audio channel yet but I imagine it’s the same (once you do it it’ll be turnkey). I like the functionality of the Wireless pro with the TC-1. So handy. Thanks for the comment.
