Expanse Style Space Battle Scene - Featuring The USSF Howard Brown
This is some KSP footage with some VFX layered over it, the last explosion might seem heavily edited, that's because it IS! KSP managed to crash 3 times while recording that scene, leaving me with... little footage of the event.
I tried to make it work, but the whole thing turned out pretty great in my opinion.

USSF Diligence - First Generation Combat SpacePlane Missile Fire Test Over Luna - KSP
มุมมอง 3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A little thing I came up with, what if there was a modified Mk33 Venture Star used as an early warship. It has 4 missiles and a radar unit. Also enough Delta-V once fully fueled in orbit to do multiple trips to Luna and back. It was maybe inspired by a certain TV show featuring a different spaceplane getting converted into a warship by the US army...
Hope of Man - Far Future Barnard's Star Mission in KSP RSS
มุมมอง 23K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This mission simulates a possible fusion powered probe to Barnard's star, specifically the exoplanet Barnard b. Barnard's star is about 6 light years away from Sol, with the probe traveling at 0.025c it reaches Barnard b in about 260 years. This is the fastest possible travel time achievable without incredibly advanced fusion engine concepts (e.g. Daedalus). If you enjoy this stuff like the vid...
Blender Rigidboy + SoftBody Simulation || Blender 2.8+
มุมมอง 1574 ปีที่แล้ว
Soo, yeah, I made this. There really isn't anything special about it. It's not showing a new type of technology or blender 2.8 feature. It just exists. It's there. Enjoy Follow me on twitter if you want: Pepper_Box_ #softbody #blender #physics #simulation #simulated
Blender Smoke Simulation Using Mantaflow - Blender 2.8+
มุมมอง 2644 ปีที่แล้ว
I'm at it again and made this right after my fluid simulation. It's special because the base resolution is only 128 divisions, but using mantaflow's special upres feature, it achieves this realistic and detailed look, with little to no bake time impact using simulated noise! Render and bake time: 5 hours 14 minutes Follow me on twitter if you so wish: Pepper_Box_ #blender #simulatio...
Blender Fluid Simulation With Realistic Bubbles, Foam, And Spray! Amazing - Mantaflow 2.8+
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Blender's new fluid simulation engine - Mantaflow, really is amazing. This is my first simulation in it, but I have to say, it's much more stramlined and comfortable to work with than the old system, and of course, much more realistic, as it supports rendering of foam, spray and bubble particles, as you can see in the video. You can download blender here: www.blender.org And learn more about ma...
Space Arcade - Raw Gameplay Footage - GMTK Game Jam
มุมมอง 1794 ปีที่แล้ว
A collaboration between DaniCoGames (danicogames.itch.io) & myself for the GMTK GameJame 2020. Music was provided by BurnOut (soundcloud.com/pumpkinhead-514138613/sets/2020-portfolio) Two mini games: Space Control, is where your ship is out of fuel and you have to prevent enemies from getting to you. Drag them into each other to destroy them. Control Swap, is where your ships controls are damag...
... so now what?
Interesting - regarding the Gatling gun, Gatling guns are used within an atmosphere to aid in convective cooling, which is impossible in space.
Great video!
Cool, what TUFX profile did u use?
The ship look's like a vacine😅
All that way, just to go splat and make a crater called human endeavour.
This is so depressing I love it omg
I just happened to move my mouse across the video in the same direction as the first stream of bullets and it took me a sec to realize that you hadn't figured out a way to have elements of your video follow the mouse cursor. Blew my mind for a moment though xD
Why fusion?
ok, for being a KSP ship this is pretty nice, knowing the limitations of KSP first i thought it was a 3d render, and then it would just be shit...
Those PDS are crap, didn't shoot down a single missile.
Is K.S.S Volovodov named after Anna from The Expanse?
Yes! I'm glad someone recognized it :)
It Is better, faster and cheaper to sent photon sail to Barnad B like Breaktrough Starshot mission
More than likely you already know about L5 residents work but just double checking that you do
What is the ion engine you used at 7:17?
its 2.5c not .025c
No, it's 0.025c 2.5c is impossible because it's higher than c (that being the speed of light)
@@SpaceGrond sorry got confused what I meant to say was it was 2.5 percent c but forgot that .025 was 2.5 percent
What is the planet pack used?
Real Exoplanets + Real Solar System
How’d you get KSC parts on the moon?
Kerbal Konstructs
This has to be my favorite KSP film. Please make more!
Probe relay the info but on Earth, 5 generations after the Great Nuclear war there was no one to listen. Anything more complicated then electric heater was considered witchmencraft by ape-like creatures.
i like how your pc is better than mine
Dang, imagine spending 260 years on a mission, then the probe crashes, and you forgot to make a quicksave.
OW
Real ones dont use quicksaves
@@M.Thomas1in my saves i cant quicksave or quickload so if i screw up its permanent
Hi, is there a download for this Project?
Probably asked a lot, but could you post your modlist?
This modlist is long lost my friend, but the main mods are FFT, NF, RSS/RSSVE/REX Restock and I think that's about it
Beware the ides of March
Wasn't Neil Armstrong cremated and his ashes scattered at sea? They make it look like he's buried there.
It's a memorial :)
Nice work! Been wondering who else out there would do this other than me
Nice to see you here, I love your videos!
@@SpaceGrond you kidding!? I love ur work! I’ve been waiting to see guns in space in KSP!!
@@APMo2 I really like your Truman class! Super impressive it's all stock :)
May I have the mod of that ship ?
It's the Mk-33 VentureStar, the mod's name is just Mk33 :)
@@SpaceGrond okay dokay
@@SpaceGrond link?
@@OrangeFruity7 it's on ckan
@@SpaceGrond Were you using RSS? And if so where can I get configs?
I think Barnard B is supported life on the planet itself
It's rare to find a bittersweet futureism video like this. Very cool
Making a bollywood-version of Children of a Dead Earth using KSP is kinda wack.
Question, did you base this video off of th-cam.com/video/WlKgCweQpNA/w-d-xo.html at all? Because either way this video was awesome.
Beyond Trinity is a huge influence on the video, and just the ksp community in general. It is a very important video for a lot of ksp player including myself, so yeah, you could say it was kinda inspired by it!
@@SpaceGrond I am not kidding when I say that this video started me playing ksp, My first peak of the game was heavily modded RSS!
Wow you keep uploading cool stuff! So, the gun blast are VFX? I'm MORE interested now... Blender maybe?
Yes the VFX are made in Blender and superemposed onto the footage in Adobe Premiere Pro :)
Great cliffhanger! You left me wanting to see how the Sol system has (d)evolved. A+
If mankind does not destroy it's self,. or reduce it's self back to the stone age, this might happen in around 2200, but unless they can produce artificial gravity of the gravity of earth, Mares will be the extent of human missions, or at least humans as we know it, but unmanned probes will be sent, just like we send probes to planets, to do the real science rather that very expensive showboating! Six light years in 260 years is outrageous! It will take about 73,000 years to reach the nearest star! Star Trek is NOT real folks!
I think you got your info a little wrong there. It will take 73,000 years for voyager 1 to reach the nearest star to it's escape trajectory, it will still miss it by about a light year. Voyager 1 is not an interstellar probe, and it is not moving at interstellar speeds. The probe in this video is an example of fusion (ICF) propulsion, which is able to reach a relativistic speed of 0.025c. This is 100% achievable by fusion engine efficency, and this is on the low end of interstellar speeds. With more efficient propulsion BCAM, MAE, laser sails, even extreme far future concepts like a kugelblitz you can reach up to 99% tsol, which means you can get to barnard b in ~8 years adjusted for braking. We are definitely not handicapped when it comes to visiting nearby systems, the only thing limiting us is our current technology. Of course warp drives aren't and will never be real, but there are other ways of crossing the interstellar nothingness :)
Don't mind if i -copy this- take some inspiration for KSP2
Wait a minute, we already know Barnard B is uninhabitable, it is way too far from the star
Yes I phrased that so most people would understand. We do know it is uninhabitable, however if the atmosphere were thicker it could be semi habitable, and the lander would have succeeded. Until JWST is fully operation we won't really know exoplanet atmosphere composition or thickness, we can only speculate ;)

Pathfinder For All Mankind
Well, that would be a loss of wasted time and effort. Boy, to travel all that way for nothing - that would be a total bummer!!
Very nice video. Have you ever played the game 'Children of a Dead Earth'? You definitely should
Yes this is inspired a bit by that, a bit by the Expanse, definitely a great game!
woaw
Wow, is not the 1st time i see that fusion engine with those radiators, but i could never find it. What mod is it? Nice job by the way :)
Nertea's Far Future Technologies, it's the "Hammertong Inertial Confinement Fusion Engine".
@@SpaceGrond Thank you! Now i need to find out how to make it work without overheat them :D New sub here...
I like what you're dong Here. You may be interested in my Expanse like indie game(: th-cam.com/video/kJ8Lpr3t1i4/w-d-xo.html
Cool, yet sad
Thanks. Nicely done. I enjoyed the "sad" music. It's not really sad to me; merely more deeply emotional & serious. Perky music is often annoying to me! I will say that I'm not of those who thinks humans are likely to find another planet that's just "perfect" for (our) life. I'm of the opinion that, if humans are ever to travel bodily to another system, they'll need to go prepared to build and live in something like a hollowed-out asteroid or an O'Neal cylinder. Dirtside is for dummies, not pioneers tavi.
I like The Expanse's take on it with the Nauvoo. The ship itself is basically a mobile O'Neil cylinder and is completely self suficient, so that if the target planet is uninhabitable it can still be colonized (like we would Mars or Venus)
@@SpaceGrond Sounds pretty smart to me! I've heard scenarios wherein generation ships travel from system to system continuously. They stop long enough to set up one or more colonies, mine for some supplies, leave behind some folks to man said colonies, and move on. It's an image that strikes me as being much the same as a sailing ship going around the world way back when. tavi.
Adding VFX atop unprepared KSP footage proved to be more difficult than expected. Along with the trouble KSP gave me during recording it isn't what I first envisioned it to be. Still pretty good for being made in one afternoon.
i play with more than 100 mods but damn this doesn’t even look like ksp anymore
Thank you!
Damn, that was kind of sad, the way the probe went so far just to fail on the landing.
Other than occasional visual glitches/ cursor showing, amazing job!
Thank you!
