Hi My name is Peyton. I was treated here for a tumor on the back of my skull. Very rare type of cancer and I am cured now. I am however curious as (i had this when I was 2 years old and so it has been some time) if they still have the peaccock machine? I as well as another patient were the first to ever use this said machine for radiosurgery. This wouldn’t happen to be the machine I speak of, would it?

I am a physically active 60 yo male with a very active athletic background. However, around 2017 I began suffering from a swollen foot that resembled gout, severe leg pain, and I walked around with a sword sticking me in my butt cheek pretty much every day all day. I could not stand for longer than 3 minutes without starting to dance. One day I was drying off after a shower and somehow was taken to my knees. My mental health was suffering because here I was, the best I could be, and declining steadily. During the final 6 months before surgery, I would feel ice cubes dropping down the inside of my leg and sloshing around in my foot. I had been going to the gym for over 40 years and hanging was my only short reprieve from the pain. After getting directed around into a whirling dervish of tests I did some research and found Barrows Brain and Spine's, DR Jay Turner. He proposed a plan to alleviate all of the deformities causing problems and probably others that had not yet begun to. His team is world-class to be modest. The facility and support staff were clean and perfect. Dietary was actually very well handled. I am 5 days into recovery as of this writing. 1) My foot is normal 2) No icy shooting pain or leg pain only surgical pain as expected. 3) I am not being constantly prodded with a sword in my butt cheek. Totally new lease on life. During my travels over the years, Off-road racing was probably the biggest contributing factor in the degeneration of my spinal components over the years, which was my passion. I expect to be cruising around the sand dunes again after getting clearance from Dr. Turner. Thank you so much, all my love.

Thank you for posting this introduction! It is comforting for my wife an IPH stroke patient to review the video as she has survived a serious “out of the blue” stroke while fully conscious. Fortunately, she was flown to Barrow from Yuma soon after her life pivoted in a few moments. Her out come certainly would not been so positive if we boarded a plane bound for Costa Rica that was scheduled a month before.

Wish it would be used on initial treatment for the tumors! I have a 3.6mm tumor inside the pituitary screwing with my cortisol and TSH. No one wants to do anything about it. My last midnight saliva cortisol tests had two of the three highest ever recorded. With Tri Core the max normal is .112ug/dl, anything higher is considered as having Cushings or hypercorticolism. Two of my last three tests last week came in at .712ug/dl and .639ug/dl. I also have four MRIs. It sucks feeling like the Incredible Hulk for three to five days at a time. For those that do not understand, your cortisol levels rise when you are in a fight or flight moment or such as getting cut off on the road and you feel that adrenaline for about thirty seconds to a minute. Mine doesn't stop. The last two years I have 16 of 24 midnight saliva cortisol tests high, with many extremely high.

Also an alkaline level in your body cannot hold any disease, so if you do your best to eat alkaline foods that will also solve your problem. Oil pulling also helps. Raw fruits and veggies as well. Eat as less cooked food as you can (none if possible) at least until your body heals. And avoid all dairies. They raise and promote inflammation in the body which then lead to diseases. Hope this helps

I just must say that I am one of the most blessed men in this world to have met Dr. Kakarla and who was not afraid to take on a very risky and complex spinal surgery. Matter of fact, I had visited previously with three other spine surgeons in the Phoenix market and none were interested in taking on my Scoliosis/Kyphosis surgery. Dr. Kakarla was in this surgery for a full 12 hours, plus he came out to communicate with my spouse every few hours plus he gave her a communication monitor with updates, that was life saving for her. To have your body and frame reduced in height from 6' to 5'.3", to walk looking towards the ground, not being able to sit or lean against a wall as the pain was severe, and then just being able to see over a steering wheel, this was not a good life and neither was taking pain pills and injections for years. Here is the real deal. Days after my surgery my wife finally gets to explain what Dr. Kakarla achieved to improve my quality of life. Keep in mind, before surgery I could not look upward, great amount of pain, and to many pain pills and injections plus my vital organs were being squashed. How in the world Dr. Kakarla could cut, remove bone along my spine, straighten me up and put all those rods and 36 screws in my back so that when I got out of bed for rehab, I was now 5'.9" tall and looking my wife right in the eyes, I regained six inches. It was not only a miracle by a spinal surgeon whose hands and mind are blessed from above, but he is just a great person. I must say from my heart, my Lord was watching over both of us. Lastly, Dr. Kakarla took on a challenge that many others did not want to waste their time, as none felt I could be cured from Scoliosis and Kyphosis. Dr. Kakarla told me right up front that he can do this without any hesitation. When I went into surgery my wife and I knew the odds were very difficult to even survive. The glimmer of hope came from Dr. Kakarla, his detail and communication gave me the will and his abilities as a super spinal surgeon brought me back to where I now have a new life. At age 64, I walked out of the Barrow/St. Joseph Hospital and rehab center, with not pain, six inches taller than when I first arrived, absolutely "No Pain" and no drugs to manage any more. I could look forward instead of the ground. I am again so blessed to meet and have my life in the hands of Dr. Kakarla, and maybe one day, another person who has spine issues may take the next step to meet him and bring themselves this great quality of life. Thank you. Gary Fietz
