Gettin' tired of livin', livin' for a moment Gettin' tired of hanging on the line I wake up every morning and I pull back the curtain And wonder if it's gonna rain or shine Gettin' tired of thinking, gettin' so tired of begging Gettin' tired of forgetting that there's two of us I'm getting so tired of loving a man that just don't give a damn Just tell me, tell me baby why I'm holding on When your lovin's long gone? I got a good mind so why don't you tell me why I can't say goodbye Just tell me baby why I've been holding on for so long? And nothing but a miracle is gonna bring you back Bring you back to me now I gotta get myself together Gotta stop telling myself that I can do no better Gotta go out and maybe start meeting some new people I gotta go out and buy myself one of those little black dresses Cause I'm so tired of this T-shirt I'm so tired of cryin' off all my make up Gettin just so tired of waking up with a lonely heart I'm getting so tired of giving a damn about an absent hearted man Just tell me, tell me baby why I'm holding on When your lovin's long gone? I got a good mind so why don't you tell me why I can't say goodbye Just tell me baby why I've been holding on for so long? And nothing but a miracle is gonna bring you back Bring you back to me now Oh, I can see it Coming down the shadows I can see it, it's coming through It's coming through the windows Oh, I can see it I can see it coming down the ceiling I can't escape it, can't escape it No I can't escape it Tell me, yeah, why I'm holding on When your love is long gone? I got a good mind so why don't you tell me why I can't say goodbye Just tell me baby why I've been holding on for so long? And nothing but a miracle is gonna to bring it back Bring you back to me now Oh, nothing but a miracle is gonna bring you back to me now Oh, nothing but a miracle, oh no, no Oh, nothing but a miracle is gonna bring you back to me now Oh no
I have Daryl to thank for introducing me to Diane, and I couldn't be happier. Maybe I'm coming to this party late, but I love Diane! I love Carole, and Joni and so many other female vocalists, also, but Diane has so much soul; she's so much fun to listen to. I seem to fall in love easily these days, but I don't think I will ever fall out of love with Diane. It's been a long time since I've heard such soul. I can't seem to get enough
OUT OF ALL THE PRESENTATIONS OF ARTISTS IN THE LETTERMAN SHOW, THIS PERFORMANCE AND SONG MUST RANK AMONG THE TOP. THE MUSIC AND VOICE OF DIANNE BIRCH WAS SIMPLY OUT OF THIS WORLD. WOW... WHAT A TALENT...
I went out to buy her CD after this performance and been her fan ever since. Funnily, I was going to change the dial originally, but the first note drew me in. She remind me of a Carol King, another favorite as well as Karen Carpenter. Beautiful style & voice. I was drawn the same for Maxi Priest when he first came on the late show with Close to You. I remain a fan for both artists. And they never disappoint.
I disagree, this version is so much tighter. The Daryl’s house version is probably more popular but this version is much better. Also dunno what you mean by duets but wrt harmonies there are just a couple of sections with extraneous “oooh”’s by the band that I could do without.
@@747ConeYeah, they did this tight. She didn't pack up her entire band to come on Letterman and play 'fast and loose' like Daryls house version. She does good live version.Alot of musicians cannot.
I feel like she is almost overpowered by the size of the band in this version. Although I admire the DH version, I love the simplicity, tempo and visuals of her original release.
First saw Diane on Daryl's House. At 74, there are tons of things goin on that cause me grief especially the direction music is going. Much of it isn't even music, heavy metal, rap etc. And then along comes Diane Birch, I guess she's from heaven, cute , sassy and her music is like medicine. IT JUST MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER!
I couldn't have said it any better myself. I first discovered Diane on Darly's House a few weeks ago. In a nutshell, I was BLOWN AWAY by her beautiful voice and scintillating smile. I now watch that video on youtube often because it's incredibly uplifting and evokes nostalgia. I am in love with her voice, smile, and demeanor.
Diane is a little bit of Carole King, a little bit Carly Simon abs a whole lot of Diane Birch and that’s the total package. Love love her style, so unique and so refreshing

Her voice is very annoying
I have fallen in love with her beautiful voice and smile. Pure talent here. I am speechless.
Wow what a amazing artist Dians voice well not enough words to say how fantastic she's extremely talented much thanks 🙏

much better than T SWIFT, a soulless variety artist
You mean, Trailer Swift, a brainless variety artist. Fixed it for ya.
Knew when it happened it would take a miracle.
Wow 4 trombones and one flugelhorn that´s what i love
great song good song
Best singer/songwriter tradition simply amazing
Damn is that stanton moore back there??

talented and incredibly beautiful
That is one great song! How come we never heard of her again since 2009?
REAL MUSIC !! 😊
REAL MUSIC !! 😊
Whatever happened to Diane Birch? So talented. Maybe she's raising a family somewhere. A lovely woman...for sure.
Diane is now living in the UK, (no children in tow) and a new album is due for release very soon 😊
AMO
Brava e bona.
Love this young lady, what a wonderful voice and song, you rock girl!
Great artist, great voice; also discovered @Daryll's House; She needs much more exposure! Makes me happy every time.
I like the horns on this version. Daryl's house is better tho.
it was good but you did it better on LFDH
she was great playing the lazy cow on Parks & Recreation too
She was great on LFDH
The brass section is simply magnificent.
What a TROMBONE section!!!!
The horns in this version ruined this
This is beautiful
The daryl's house version is so much better !
Whoever arranged this was so bad
Crazy but 10yrs latter and she still isn't the biggest superstar around
The horns are nice but i find them a little overbearing
Came from Daryl s house to here... love Diane x
Beautiful stuff, well done everybody. Love the trombones and flugelhorn.
Bravissima. Voce meravigliosa. Musica sublime. Voto 100/100.
Friggin awesome
The version at daryls house smokes this, those duets are some of the best music you’ll ever hear in your entire life

Having said that Daryl’s house has a lot of songs that I think are the best versions of certain songs, just not this one.

I agree and I’m 73 must be our mindset.
Right on brother coming from the heart and soul
I agree!! You should listen to Henry Paul from outlaws. He is going strong at 74, touring, & raisinga new family. His music is uplifting.

Can Diane be any prettier and any more great as a musician than she is? Unreal.
She's like the mix between Carole King and Aubrey Plaza.
She is fabulous. Even cuter with her personality showing at Daryl's house performances.
Very powerful sound.. Super bass player Motown licks.
Diane is a little bit of Carole King, a little bit Carly Simon abs a whole lot of Diane Birch and that’s the total package. Love love her style, so unique and so refreshing
Saw her on Letterman when she performed this song and immediately went out and bought her CD, been hooked on Diane Birch since
much better than T SWIFT, a soulless variety artist
Discovered her at Daryl’s. Fantastic singer...she’s gorgeous too!!
Daryl's house set my standards too high!
not much better.
Never heard of her but what a great song!
