Patron Suggestion: Hallelujah I've always thought this song was covered too much, but I can't deny I was moved doing it. So I figure if it moved me, then hopefully it will move you as well!

The Verve Pipe live streaming show in 2021 was like no other. Sitting in a circle, they reminisce, jam together, try out some new songs, and reestablish what they had missed out on during the 2020/21 pandemic - a close and personal connection with each other. Track Listing: 5:30 Never Let You Down 9:24 Photograph 14:50 Gotta Move On 20:13 A Fine Line 25:35 Veneer 32:21 What Might Have Been (New...

"Go Further" Book Party Performance of "Blow You Away"
มุมมอง 2053 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a segment from the live performances during the Go Further book party. Go Further is a book of essays written about Power Pop. Brian performs the song Blow You Away, co-written with Andy Partridge of XTC. Fun, bright, and playful, Power Pop is a sometimes adored, sometimes maligned, often misunderstood genre of music. From its heyday in the '70s and '80s to its resurgence in the '90s an...

Brilliant 👏
Great song, and I especially loved the random cut at 3:41 that seems in no way related to the chorus being sung, lol...
One of the coolest things I’ve seen a musician do! Teach people to play a song the way they played it. Awesome video man! Thank you.
Has anyone charted this (perfect) version? Everything else online has the typical Asus4 and Dsus4 chords. And none of the fun stuff at the end.
After coming watching wwe hbk farewell
This is an absolute gem of a song still in 2025.
Inventive reincarnation of this classic……love the vocals.
Here in 2025....... For One Amazing Song ! ❤
I'm glad you're still out there, Brian... Thank you. Daniel
Awesome
I like this cover of the Mark Walberg song 😂
Ive been looking for a tutorial on this forever! Best song titled Photograph ever! Thank you.
Ive been looking for a tutorial on this forever! Best song titled Photograph ever! Thank you.
That was a real gem of a video man. That's been my go to acoustic song since you released it. It's one of the few songs I play even when I'm alone. Tickled pink to hear you talk about it.
I want tutorial for when one become two.
This song makes me both happy and sad, specially after the only girl that I ever had cheated on me.
Thanks for this. Great lesson and an even better song! 🤘
The lyrics are amazing, it really is a love song for anyone, so you grab it up and can claim it as ‘our song’. The key change is a nice touch too.
One,! Day ,! Brien ! I'll learn to play " the freshman!!!!
Beautiful! Thanks for tips and the memories.
Boy it doesn't get any better than to learn it from "the guy who wrote it" and the Villians album is definitely top three!! Quick, easy question . . . how did you attach your guitar strap at the top? Also, how about an Ominous Man tutorial?
Thank you for sharing this. It’s truly a great song.
I am a 55 year old disabled male. I played guitar in the 80s and 90s and then life came along. I have been through hell and back, dead for 13 minutes and revived. In a coma for 2 weeks in 2016. I just got back into playing after 35 plus years. This is my wife’s favorite song. I need to learn this in about 6 months for our anniversary. If I play this video day and night for 6 months, I do apologize. It’s probably the best video lesson on this song. Thank you and wish me luck. It’s only been about 3 weeks and I just got the minor pentatonic scale (e) down. Thank you again.
Wow one of my favorite songs. My favorite artist. You have made a difference. Actually I love you. My hope is one day that I can meet you again. I met you in Tempe about 5-6 years ago.
I like your version of this but it'd be nice if you played the same chord or melody atleast twice before you move onto the next chord, I'm constantly rewinding and asking my self which note you're playing, anyways I want to thank you for sharing, and no pun intended
That's so generous of you brother! Thank you!
Thank you very much for this. Beautiful to learn it from you directly after so many years ... I LOVE how you describe your chordprogression!!! Just like I do , when I record my song ideas at night on my voice recorder, everything in relation to the chords we learned from Hotel California and Yesterday and then counting fingers and frets up and down from there 😄😁🎸
I used to listen to the radio for hours to catch a full version where the dj didn’t talk thru the intro or cut off the end. Loved this song!
This is a song that my band, Black Sevens perform when we do covers.
This song had me captured with the first cord . In context the use in the movie Rock Star defined it for me as a transitional piece of chasing a dream and truly understanding that you were already living that dream as yourself . Well done this song is truly a timeless treasure ✌🏻
I grew up in Florida. I moved to Grand Rapids in 1993, when I was 20, and fell in love with the local music scene. One of my friends played your album, "i've suffered a head injury." That was the first time hearing 'The Freshman.' I was fortunate enough to see you play a couple of times at The Intersection, while it was still in Eastown. I was very happy for the band when you got picked up by RCA. Friends of mine from Florida started talking about you, and I felt proud to tell them my "I knew them when" story. I live in Muskegon now and I listen to your show on WLAV.
Man I never noticed how similar this is to dannys song . Pretty cool
Awesome. Always Loved this song
As a 13 year old I hated this song when it came out. Almost 30 years later it’s one of my favorites, funny how time and relationships work Thanks for the music, Brian:)
2024 and I am still listening to this music. Makes me think of my husband Cullen, who will always love me, colorful or grey.
....Cullen is one very lucky guy to have someone like you....Perfect comment, just perfect!
It’s refreshing to hear a professional musician admit that they can’t read music.
That's a fantastic song that that really is.I remember watching the movie and there was a couple of songs. We all die young and colorful. And those were the 2 songs that sets in my life.I didn't know who wrote it or who sang it.Maybe it's teaching sounds fantastic. You're fantastic in my books anyway.I'm a musician guitarist doesn't matter but anyways thanks
Quite possibly the only song that still hits me as hard now and when I first heard it when it came out. Such a great song.
Good memories ✌❤
Perfect song
Gorgeous song, beautifully written, beautifully sung by a voice that has more character than most novels. It should live forever. How lucky for us all.
This song makes me cry for so many different reasons. Thank you for the feelings.
Everytime i hear the song name "Sweet Caroline" i always picture Axl Rose singing "Woaaaahhh sweet caroliiine" like he did in sweet child o mine lol
Will you please, please do a video teaching 'Penny is Poison?' It's my favorite Verve Pipe song! Thank you!
"you are more beautiful when you awake, than most are in a lifetime..." I wish everybody to feel that way when you look at the face next to you in the morning, when you open your eyes...
Love this. Thank you.
I do. It’s why this song reminds me of my wife every time I heard it. And the lines I know I can be colorful, I know I can be gray, reminds me of how much she has to put up (with me).
Makes me miss…Doug, the brother and Donny
hahahahah
Beautiful lyrics!
Thank you!
aprendi a tocar por causa do filme Rock Star... amo esse filme
Muito obrigado! Estou feliz que você gostou.
Hello Mr. Vander Ark. Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is Anthony and I posted earlier today on this channel. I see that my comment has been deleted. Perhaps I came across too strong or perhaps ( most likely ) I inadvertently broke a youtube policy and a moderator caught me. Alas! I sincerely do hope that I did not offend you, sir. I have only admiration for you and have been a long time fan as well. Please forgive me sir if I have offended you. I appreciate what you have done here. I was very enthusiastic to show you my cover I did of Photograph earlier this week after visiting this site. Stay safe. Stay well. Stay Awesome.
No idea how you're comment would've been deleted, sorry. Wasn't me!
The pre-chorus of this song is one of my very favorite musical moments of the 90s… so dramatic and dissonant. To hear his guitar part in isolation, and therefore what the original intent was… it’s amazing how much the bass line and the other guitar part recontextualize it. Freaking magic!
I appreciate that Brendan!
