I think that Le futur is translated as I will. I will dance, you will walk, he will talk. The futur proche is I am going to dance, you are going to walk, he is going to talk. This will make more sense to an Anglo as it’s a direct translation. Le futur proche is the “close” future used for actions that will occur today or tomorrow. Futur simple is used for things that will occur beyond tomorrow.
