Graphing a Linear Inequality and Shading It Right
From learning when to use a solid line to when to use a dashed line and whether to shade above or below the line as well as practical ways to double check your answer, these two examples will work through how to graph and shade a linear inequality.
Remember that if the inequality is greater than or EQUAL to, as well as less than or EQUAL to, we have to use a solid line.
If you want to double check your answer, try filling in any point. If you fill in a point and get an answer of TRUE, it means that the point you selected is on the shaded side. If you fill in a point and you get an answer of FALSE, it means that the point is NOT on the shaded side. This is a great way to double check if you are right before submitting an answer.
As always, if you are looking for study practice, there are interactive resources available that will help you strengthen your skills and improve your math that are free and can be found at www.workshop49.com

Examples of Testing if a Point is True or False in an Inequality
มุมมอง 1714 วันที่ผ่านมา
In these practice examples follow along as I work through testing 6 different points (ordered pairs ) inside of linear inequalities. We do practice questions with both the greater than or equal to, as well as an example where it is just a less than symbol so you can see what happens when the two numbers are equal. These easy to follow examples will show you how we can take any (x,y) point and f...
Examples of Solving Compound Right Triangles (When you have more than one Triangle in a Problem)
มุมมอง 6914 วันที่ผ่านมา
In these two easy to follow examples, we work through problems where we have been given multiple unknowns across multiple triangles and we need to use SOH CAH TOA as well as Pythagorean Theorem in order to solve everything. As we work through these examples you will see that these are best done if we separate the triangles into individual triangles looking for the triangles that has the greates...
Examples of how to Graph Lines Using y=mx+b
มุมมอง 1714 วันที่ผ่านมา
Follow along with these four step by step walkthrough examples of how to graph a linear line using y=mx b We go through how b is the y-intercept and how to play it on the vertical y-axis as our first step. Then we go through how m is the slope and we can use that to determine how much our line goes up or down as it moves to the right. Note that sometimes linear equations can be written as y=ax ...
Examples of How to Solve Pythagorean Theorem a² + b² = c²
มุมมอง 11814 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this video we work through two different Examples of How to Solve Pythagorean Theorem a² b² = c² One where we are solving for the hypotenuse, the c-value. And then another example where we working through how to solve the a or b value when we know the c value. In these easy to follow examples you can see that there are only two different ways that we can be asked to use this equation. Some t...
Examples of Calculating Power Using P=W/t
มุมมอง 3921 วันที่ผ่านมา
In these three examples we will work through different ways of using P=W/t. We will look at the power of lifting an object where work is mgh. Then we will look at the power required to accelerate an object where work is kinetic energy. The last example looks at the power of pushing an object where W=Fd. Check out our videos on calculating work if you wanted a refresher on how to do that. The be...
How to Calculate a Standard Deviation of a Sample Set of Numbers by Hand
มุมมอง 3821 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this example we are going to work through the steps of how to calculate a standard deviation of a sample set by hand. If you were given a much larger set of data I would highly recommend looking at using some type of spreadsheet software to help you out for regular calculations. However, it is still important to understand how the calculations are done in the event that you need to be able t...
Solving Questions with Normally Distributed Data
มุมมอง 2821 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this example we will first divide up a normal curve so that you can see the percentage of data that is expected to be found in each section. We will do this by dividing the normal curve up into sections based on adding or subtracting standard deviations. Then we will look at a sample of cats and their weights and try to estimate how many of those chonky little fluff buckets were in a given d...
Solving Energy Lost to Friction on a Slide
มุมมอง 2421 วันที่ผ่านมา
Going down a slide is every child's dream and thanks to the power of friction it will stay that way. In this easy to follow example we work through how energy lost due to friction can keep the velocity at a manageable speed as the child reaches the bottom of the slide. We will solve the energy lost by recognizing that at the top of the slide the child's energy is all gravitational potential and...
Solving the Work of Going Against Friction
มุมมอง 2921 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this easy to follow example we will be solving the work of a reindeer as it pulls a sleigh across a surface with friction. We will solve the force of friction and then use that to solve work using the equation W = Fd. Remember that in order for this situation to work that the object must be pushed or pulled across a surface at a constant velocity. If you were push harder than friction the ob...
Solving the Work of Changing Velocity - Speeding Up or Slowing Down
มุมมอง 3221 วันที่ผ่านมา
In these examples we will look at how work is solved as a change in energy either by speeding an object up, or slowing an object down. We will look at how we can solve the kinetic energy of an object at two different points in time and that the final energy subtract the initial energy is the work done. Remember that work can also be negative, and that happens any time you do work that removes e...
Solving the Work of Lifting an Object
มุมมอง 2721 วันที่ผ่านมา
In these examples we will solve the work that is done to raise the height of an object. We will look at two different situations, one where a person is climbing a flight of stairs and we calculate the work that they do. In the second example we look at the work that would be required to make a stack of bricks. There is also a unique challenge at the end of the video that I would love for anyone...
How to Draw Histograms By Hand
มุมมอง 2321 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this video we will work through two different examples where we have been asked to draw histograms by hand without the use of technology. In order to sort the data for making a histogram we have put the data into frequency tables. If for some reason you have been given raw data and asked to put it into a histogram, I highly recommend you sort it into a frequency table first. Key points to re...
How to Draw Frequency Tables By Hand
มุมมอง 1721 วันที่ผ่านมา
Given raw data, going through two easy to follow examples we will create frequency tables by using tally marks to keep track. This is particularly helpful if the data is not sorted before hand. Remember to select appropriate bin widths to capture your data in a reasonable number of bins. (Two is too few, twenty is too many) It's up to you to get a good feel. Personally I like four to eight bins...
Solving Kinetic Energy
มุมมอง 2321 วันที่ผ่านมา
In these easy to follow example problems we work through the units and equations to solve the kinetic energy of a moving object. We also look at an example where we solve an unknown velocity of a runner with a known energy. Kinetic energy is the energy of a moving object and is measured in joules (J). Mind your units of kg and m/s when filling in your values. If you are looking for additional s...

Thank you so much! That really means a lot! 🥹 Appreciate the shoutout, and if you need any more educational wisdom, you know where to find me! 😎 Although, I'm pretty sure you've got all of this covered!
Thank you for the helpful video!
You're very welcome, I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. ^_^
Thanks man
You're very welcome. My pleasure! ^_^
Happy new year!
:)
:) Thanks for the smile!
Cool video 👍
Thanks for checking it out!
Aw this makes me miss chem class. It made so much sense!
Spectator ion! Don’t remember that term from Chem 20! 😂 So is the water of the aqueous solution considered a spectator?
Fun fact, the water is not actual a spectator ion, because the water is a molecule. ^_^
I like the vowels vs consonants trick! Easy to remember.
I feel that perhaps at this point in my life I should have outgrown strategies like that for remembering things.... alas nope. Glad this one helps you!
Lol you sound like you have something against chemistry. But this was good! Easy to follow. I also appreciate the final answer formatting.
Oh no, I love chemistry. Especially the type that involves calculations!
This one was fun! I enjoy being able to call out the answers before you write it down. I think I learned this one in high school? 🤔
Knowing that someone is shouting out answers while I am doing a video makes me so incredibly happy! <3
These are basically just logic problems. But like… math logic problems…. Oh. Oh I see. 🤦🏼♀️
This one was fun to follow along with. 👍🏻
This was very easy to understand!
So happy that you liked it! Or well.. understood it. Maybe you still don't "like" it. ^_^
I called it before clicking on the video
Way to go! Once you realize that there are only a couple ways to get this style of question wrong, the only thing left that you can do is get them all right! ^_^
Thank you so much for this video! I have a test on this tomorrow and I didn’t understand too well, I think I will do much better now that I know.
Best of luck with your test! ^_^
Yes indeed very helpful nice vid
Glad you liked it. I would be happy to make a follow up video with some questions that are a step up in difficulty.
This video is extremely helpful
So glad that you found it helpful.
This makes a lot of sense and I am not even that good at math
Thanks so much! Just keep watching videos. We will have you acting all MVP in math in no time at all!
This video deserves more views
Tell your friends who like learning! Maybe even tell your friends that don't like learning!
