Great conversations with our SIMNI President Fiona Cullen and our In Country Project Manager Kylian Kenni in PNG sharing highlights of our Seeds of Friendship project in Darapap Village Murik Lakes and a touch stone on some of our other projects that our members have been involved in this year. Proud to be a life member of SIMNI. Namaste Chris
Great interview Kath and SIMNI appreciates your lifelong journey of raising awareness and advocating for better understanding of women's gynae health and in particular vulvar cancer. These are really important conversations that we need to have with each other and in particular with our health professionals. Namaste Chris Knight SIMNI Life Member

This was a life changing experience for Fiona and she continues to grow and is now our SIMNI President 2023-2024.
Good day my friend Godbless.
Our SIMNI member Kylian Kenni is a PNG National who was born in the Murik Lakes District and lives in Wewak. She and her Partner Ela have been working closely with the local Elders and Villagers to plant 120 individual gardens over the past year. Phase 2 of this project is building a Sustainable Community Garden that will yield sufficient food supplies for the Villagers and more to sell and / or trade with surrounding villages. From little things big things grown. We welcome donations and partners to support us with this grass roots project that is led and run by the local villagers. All that need for Christmas is a boat motor for their dugout canoe. Namaste Chris
Thank You SIMNI Member Adele Rice AM - this was an excellent way to celebrate International Women's Day 2022 #BreaktheBias and #KeepingMakingNoise 2022 and to learn more about your work and contributions to support children and young people who arrive in Australia as refugees, asylum seekers and migrants. It is even harder for these young girls to overcome some of these challenges and thankfully education has enabled them to achieve their dreams. It was wonderful to have other Soroptimist Members from around the world to join us live and to also be able to share this recording with others including the staff and students at Kairos Community College at Deception Bay Australia.
Your work is so good.. I appreciate it.
Thank You

Wonderful song, video and rendition. Thank you
Brilliant Marney and SIMNI! A great initiative and starting another conversation that has so many stories to tell and so many perspectives to share to ensure the messages that are being shared are transparent, honouring and respectful. In my life I speak with people regularly who believe they are doing a great job based on what they know. My passion and purpose is to share with people respectful and Non Violent Communication to honour and protect our children. There is so much that when we learn it, we realise how we can be an even better version of ourselves and be that for our children, our family, our community. Stories of love are such great ways to connect. So happy to find this resource. With love and gratitude. Donna Flockhart
Generous Heart Marney Perna and such a wonderful project to participate in. Namaste Chris Knight
Is there any help for male Victims of DV? Of course it is good to raise awareness but to leave "people feel alone" but when the only people you're talking about are female I just wonder. Are you or the men in this video aware that many of the help services for men automatically assume that as a man he must be the perpetrator because of this kind of video and the society of fear (for men) and the victim culture (for women) it creates? "Teaching respect to boys", yes... I also teach respect to my daughters too. As they learn their way in the world they need guidance about all violence being unacceptable too. Worth watching this too... th-cam.com/video/6wquSjvkANY/w-d-xo.html #EndAllDV
HI Ben. Thanks for your comments. There is help for male victims of D V and Family Violence such as www.dvconnect.org/mensline and the contact centres support any victims of violence, men or women. This DVD was not created to instill fear, but to start acknowledging that we have to engender fairness and to encourage our youth to have to a voice. Our dad's spoke from their own personal perspective, as you also do. Violence in any form is not acceptable.
I'm incredibly proud of my fellow SIMNI Club members who work tirelessly to raise awareness for women and their children who are experiencing and fleeing domestic violence. This video is one of the many ways we as a Club, and as Soroptimists, make a difference to the lives of the women and their children suffering domestic violence. Find out what Soroptimist International is all about here...www.soroptimistinternational.org/. You know, we can all play our part in ending domestic and family violence. If you are not able to physically lend a hand then please donate to the frontline response agencies who support these victims: - Womens Legal Services Brisbane www.wlsq.org.au/ - Redcliffe Encirlce www.encircle.org.au/redcliffe-neighbourhood-centre - Centre Against Domestic Abuse www.cada.org.au/
This would be without exception one of the best projects that my Soroptimist International Moreton North Inc. Club SIMNI has done under our SI Educate To Lead focus in partnership with Kairos Community College at Deception Bay. This project gave 10 young people who study there a voice to be able to express themselves under the National Youth Week (31st March - 9 April 2017) theme Be Bold Be Brave Be You. They and their teachers worked within incredibly tight timeframes to ensure that all activities of the grant funding provided by the Queensland Office of Youth Affairs / PCYC was met. Together with another 12 organisations our young students captured a moment in time and words that reflected themselves and the communities that they live in. Namaste Chris Knight, Director, Inspirational Connections, SIMNI Member. www.soroptimistinternational.org
I am so proud of the members of my SI Club Soroptimist International Moreton North Inc (Queensland Australua) and those SI Members around the world who raise awareness of domestic violence, support the survivors, work together with frontline response teams and do whatever they can to create safer more caring and inclusive communities for everyone. Namaste Chris Knight, Director, Inspirational Connections, SIMNI Member. ❤️🙏
Good job SIMNI ... keep the conversation going. Awareness is critical in the fight on DV.
Great video! Good Job SI of Moreton North!
Great video. Bravo Soroptimist for your job!
great video. violence is a whole of community issue. a good reminder that men must be part of the conversation.
This has been an amazing project involving local men in our community. Ending all forms of violence is a community issue and we can only hope to end it by ensuring that people can access appropriate support before the situation reaches a crisis point. Namaste SIMINI Soroptimist International Moreton North Inc. So proud of my club. www.soroptimistinternational.org
