Being present matters | In the Car with Clint
มุมมอง 443 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this episode of In the Car with Clint, I share a quick story from our Regency Park warehouse that reminded me why presence as a leader matters. I spotted a small issue with some labels being placed on a bit wonky. It’s not a big deal, they’d still make it to the shelves, but I want it done right. If I hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t have seen it. As a founder, you can’t be everywhere all the t...

Hey man, nice and simple way to put this kind of issue out here. I have one question though. I'm part of a family business as the third generation in the business, my grandfather is already retires but my father and my uncle are still actively working in the business. Now, we are a very very small business and we share the same secretary but even when she is a good secretary, she is quite uneffective as an assistant and for the mast years I've relied on my wife to do and investigate many things for me (and she is the most efficient person on that I've ever met). I'm thinking about hiring her as a part time executive assistant because of how good she is and also to get some more money into the house cuz we manage our business as if we were all employees, we can only take pur salary home and that is already defined. So, my preocupation is in weather you think it can be reasonable, sustainable and healthy or not. I'm more worried about her relationship with my father and my uncle, but also about her feeling like she is always under my authority. Have you seen it before work out? I know about a lot of couples having a business together and a lot of couples forming out of a boss-assistant relationship, but I can't find anyone talking about a husband hiring his wife as an assiatant. Any thoughts or experience would be great

I agree but think think it is important to reward everybody, but they do not need to receive the same reward or value of reward. If they are not worthy of being rewarded then it may be time to have a conversation and manage them out of the business. example if I had a full time (or even a part time) employee I would put away after legal entitlements as a minimum .10c for every hour they work to be used to incentivise them through out the year / Career, so if they work 38 hours a week for 48 weeks of the year (get 4 weeks leave) then 38x 48 x .10 = $182.40. You can give them a $100 XMas bonus or hamper, $50 bonus for their birthday and accrue $32.40 for significant reward in the future or when they leave the business. Imagine if you accrued .50c or a $1 per hour, which you could do for your A & B graders who I am sure are contributing more to your business and can receive 10x the benefit. Even if you give your employee's a ham or $50 Foodland voucher at XMas time that would cost like .03c/hr. But of course it is your business and how you choose to run it and reward your people is entirely your decision, as it should be but in my mind the above is how I would reward my staff if I had my own business.

Total 239 subscribers and a Total of 541 Uploaded videos of your channel. I noticed one thing according to your channel your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You need to optimize your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. If your channel is optimized a little and if the videos are SEO then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow. And monetization of your channel will be on.
