It is really a cold weather dish. Stews etc tended to be in the autumn/winter as historically it was a way of using up lower quality meat.
It was very rich but very good. We'll definitely make it again come winter.

Powder sugar is called icing sugar over here.
If you pause on the clip where I'm showing the ingredients you'll see that's actually what the label on my canister says. I use both terms regularly. However, I don't ever call it confectionary sugar which is another term for it but that's just because it's too many syllables.
