funky bob newhart show theme

This is my favorite TV theme song. The incredibly jazzy/funky Bob Newhart Show theme. Not the first season theme, with the telephone ringing....

I put together a 30 sec. video of classic Jackie Jokeman giggles. Always makes me giggle too.

Does anyone know what this funk/fusion song is? I taped it back in the mid 80's off the radio, and I have never been able to find out who it is. Please help, and post your answer here! Thanks! (may have been a japanese guitarist, but not sure!)
805 - Young Boy (1982)

Cool band from upstate NY in the 80's. Sound quality is average, sorry. Anyone else remember seeing these guys in the early 80's?
Gus the Cairn Terrier singing and howling!
มุมมอง 24K17 ปีที่แล้ว
Another installment of Gus. He sings and howls on command. Look for very strange howl/hoot about halfway thru the video! Gus howls every time we play this video on the computer too!!

Gus the cairn terrier shows what makes him special.
woah! That is like one big blast of big phat brass chords!!!
man back in the day, way before satellite, Howard and gang was some really funny shit - when there wasn't woke crap infiltrating everything. Thanks for these, searched many other ways - soundboards, etc - this was EXACTLY what I was looking for - appreciate it.
"The Bob Newhart Show" (1972-1978)
An absolute classic.
I like the 5/4 measure.
My Bob newheat rest in peace in the name of our Lord and savor Jesus Christ Amen
8:18 lol
check out the 5/4 measure thrown in there right before the trumpet solo .. what a jam 😛

Has Ralph Curella ever been seen in the same room as Mark Harris?
Hi Bob! :D
Dice is a fake Italian with a fake leather jacket
And funny as hell. Cry more.
0:10 is by far the best, 0:04 as well
0:13 This laugh is hard to find online, even though it was the most used of all the Jackie chuckle drops.
Gary: Ya hear me now? Everyone: I HEAR YA hahahaha
Dice is right. That's the Brooklyn in him. lol. They are grimy.
Lol..... hahaha

Who is the trumpet player on this?
Sounds like Tom Leykis.
Good writers can write music which is, at the same time accessible and sophisticated, which pretty much describes the essence of Pat Williams' style.
My god that bass part is so good, it’s like the chart had the chords listed and then just said “play some cool shit”
That's pretty much what happened I think
My favorite TV theme song ever. That trumpet is just way up in the stratosphere. Great arrangement.
where is part 1?
This is hands down one of the best T.V. themes ever
This is hands down one of the best T.V. themes ever
Great theme song STILL
7:08
The season 4 theme is by far the best Intro of all!! So so incredibly hip leading to that High Trumpet line … Awesome Intro!!
Mark was radio gold
EEEEEEeeeeeheeeheeeeheeeeheeeheeeheeehe...!!!!
Only an Alzheimer's-addled old bag could love a snide, condescending POS like Mark Harris.
"I love MAH-THER!"
give jackie another chance
Fantastic theme! One of the very best. Written by Lorenzo and Henrietta Music.
1-516-922WINE still has jokes and is updated.
XD
The 3rd Best TV Series Theme Song ever! I believe this was the 2nd version they played.
Pat Williams did the music for the Bob Newhart show and he had a steady cast of musicians he used. The "Wrecking Crew" was not involved. The lead trumpet is Marvin Stamn. Tom Scott does most of the saxophone parts. Piano is Roger Kellaway (who also played the closing piano solo on "All In The Family"), bass is Jim Hughart and drums is John Guerin.
What happened to part 1 ???
I could literally listen to Jackie laughs all day! Lol
AH, YOU ALL SUCK!!!!!
The caller was right
Never gets old. I love it.
I love this video
Club Soda Kenny, lol, Classic 👍😆
