Roberts 6700 Marine Carpet Adhesive Part 1
มุมมอง 23K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Part 1, Trying out Roberts 6700 indoor outdoor adhesive to glue some marine carpet down. Since their are so many mixed reviews, I decided to try it out first with some scrap materials to make sure it can handle the job. In part 2, will see what it looks like after 2 weeks.

Great thanks
Thankyou!
On the 3M can you use both wired and Bluetooth at the same time?
No, you can't. Either 3.5 millimeter audio connection, or Bluetooth. Additionally, the wired connection will not work on the 3M if the battery is empty, and they cannot play sound when being charged.
ProHear too loud? Can't you just set the volume of your phone to something lower than 100%, and then use the ear muffs to turn the volume higher or lower from that point?
He said it was too loud on the lowest volume setting
@@intheweeds - Yes he did. And _"I"_ said *_"Can't you just set the volume of your phone to something lower than 100%."_* The data is coming *from the phone.* Which means that *the phone volume control* controls *what is being sent out.* So, even if your 3M headphones are set to FULL BLAST, you can still turn down or off the phone volume, because the source of the music *and the music volume* is controlled *by the phone.* The headphones can't play a different song than what is being sent by the phone. Likewise, it can't play the song at a different volume than what is being sent by the phone. Yes? When I connect my phone via Bluetooth in the car, that's how it works. I still have a good amount of control over the volume by using the car radio volume knob. But, if my phone volume is set *too* low, I have to turn the *phone* volume up at least a little so the car can pick it up (or I can turn the phone all the way up, and turn the car volume down). *SHORT ANSWER:* Put on the 3M headphones, press "Play" to play a song, then *change the volume on your phone* and see what happens.
Worktunes are too quiet
I have the pro hear ones I work in a factory so I have to wear them all day and they are great when you have music on you can't hear anything which is what you want the only problem I have with them is the size I have a small head so I look a bit goofy with them on but apart from that they are great
So they do not rub ?
Full cure time is 24 hours.
Have you been sucking on some Elmer glue?
I'm very dissatisfied with my Prohears. Battery life sucks and they now have developed a problem charging at all. I had a pair of Muffpro's that had awesome battery life until I lost them. I think i'll just order another pair of those.
The Worktunes do have some control over your audio - You can double press the button to skip forward and triple press the to go back. Single press pauses audio and answers/ends calls.
Think that trowel is the issue should have been smaller tooth, great test though
Thanks for the video! The 3m you can pause music and skip songs also you can activate Siri I think
My dog just destroyed my worktunes after 5 years so Im here looking for reviews on comfort. The worktunes hurt my ears after a while and will hurt the top of your head if you have a hat on. there is a recess in the headband for the button on top of a hat but if its not just right it still puts pressure there and after a while starts to hurt. I love the ease of use for the woktunes. hold one button to turn on and off, pause, skip tracks, answer or hang up calls etc. I was just hoping there were more comfortable options out there that are still safety rated.
my goat just chewed the wires on my headset apart
I used it to glue rubber on aluminum. After 48 hours, it has the consistency of peanut butter and pulls up easily
What did you end up doing to make it work? Doing carpet on my boat currently and have the same situation
@@thomasmchugh1865I think it works well on carpet if your going to staple it down But rubber on aluminum was a mess
Which one is better at talking calls over Bluetooth and what is the microphone quality. Do the person you are talking to have problems hearing you! Regards Bernard
Thanks for sharing, I'm getting ready to do my boat with this same glue. How did your boat turn out? Did this glue do the trick and would you recommend it?
Will this glue paneling to polystyrene insulation yhat has a aluminum face sheet on it
Love Worktunes , but there is definitely room for improvement on radio and bluetooth reception. Also the tuning wheel is really easy to bump and gets annoying
That stuff is Junk I used it on my boat and after two months, it got wet on the boat and came right up. I would not recommend it. that was after dried for two months
I bought some Roberts 3095 for my SeaRay carpet, a tip I got from the employee was to use a sponge roller instead of the trowel to spread it across the fiberglass for even coverage. Lay it on thin and roll the carpet after for a strong bond. Going to test it out tomorrow and hope for the best. Can keep you updated on my progress.
The clips are very difficult to open. It would sure be nice to see explanation about that.
105 has prop 65 warning which might be why it's cheaper. "3M does not label the Peltor X5A Over-the-Head Earmuffs with a California Proposition 65 warning and does not believe it is appropriate for this product. To the best of 3M Personal Safety Division’s knowledge, the 3M PELTOR X5A Earmuffs are in compliance with Proposition 65, and reasonably anticipated use of the product will not result in exposure to any Proposition 65 chemicals that would require a Proposition 65 warning."
You can skip songs on the work tunes. Double tap the button for next song triple tap to go back a song. Been using them for about 7-8 years now. The headband will dig into your head after a while.
How about noise cancelling?
Someone needs a glass of water...
Wow, this may sound weird but you've got a very pleasant voice to listen to. Great for podcasting or radio work. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to review these and share on here. I've been trying to decide on which Bluetooth ear protection to go for and this was helpful. Cheers!
That adhesive is some great stuff. But one thing you have to do for maximum strength you didn't do is after trowling is let setup for 30 to 60mins depending on temperature and humidity because its waterbased. After you lay carpet you need to use a J-Roller and roll and press the carpet down. After that good luck trying to pull up carpet. You'll pull up a layer of the plywood with the carpet!!
Oh jeez that's plenty good for carpet glue! Dont forget your peeling a 2" strip and it ripping the backing off that's some good stuff!!
1600 views and only 26 likes. Come on people. Help the guy out. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the review. I've been looking at differences between the 3M earmuffs. You mention the 105 have a "double wall design". Are the 105 supposed to be newer than the X5A? I really wish it was easy to see which are the newer models. But based on your review, I'll probably just go with the X5A since I want as much noise blocked as possible.
Another thing about the x5's is that they allow for airpords. So with the airpod pros, I have noise cancellation active, along with the protection of the x5.
Your airpods pros fit fine inside the X5's? I've got the regular Apple earpods with the cord, and on my Champion earmuffs, the stem of the earpods goes into the foam. Been thinking of getting a smaller earpod like something small with a tiny cord that goes around the back of your neck like Beats. Thanks.
@@colt5189 yeah. It does compress the foam a little but they do fit. Samsung makes smaller earpieces too, but I don’t know if their noise canceling works on an apple device.
Good video. You’re definitely not supposed to let it dry at all. Spread your glue. Put it down then immediately pull back a corner to ensure it’s got 100% coverage. TACKY is dry. Like duct tape stays tacky on the roll right? That was a great test to show why you don’t spread more than you can immediately put down.
Hi, that glue is for fiberglass too? Thanks.
Yes
This is extremely useful. Thank you. I was lent some ear muffs last year. I am hyperaesthesic with eyesight and hearing. They were great for close sounds, but paradoxically I still could hear further away sounds (like 50m upwards away) too loudly, so I'm trying to find protection that defends me from both close and far-away sounds as much.
for large ears, should I choose Optime 105 or Optime 95? or the size is the same?. I can't find Optime 98 in my country, I also read X5A is not suitable for large ears, so my left option is Optime 105 and Optime 95. Thank you.

How to use with glass?
You can either put the glass on and then the earmuffs, which hurts if the glass' sticks aren't flat; or put the earmuffs on and then slide the glass into the muffs (they won't be sitting on your ears, but the pression of the muffs will hold them), which will possibly hurt but less. Specifically for the X5A, you could also purchase very expensive gel cups (HY80; or you could buy unofficial ones, but at your own risk for compatibility issues) which have better sealing and make wearing glass more comfortable. The H10A 105 is not compatible with the HY80 gel cups even if some people found workarounds.
Thanks for this- very useful info.
What auto parts store gave you that. I went to advanced auto and the guy looked at me like i was crazy. He said just go online and find it .
Autozone 🙂
thanks you helped me a lot
I noticed that you got your negative test lead of the DOM on the wrong side for the resistance check. It should be on the common negative which is the one right next of the positive lead of the DOM. That negative is primarily use for finding/seeing a amperage draw on a circuit. I also have that DOM myself.
The glue was holding and the carpet came apart. Are you going to be walking on it or pulling on it?
Do you think I could block the neighbor's dogs who keep barking all the time if I wear any of those?
Yes. I use h10a 105 at work (heavy machinery operator) and it works great. :)
You need a 9mm for your neighbours dog.
Thanks 👍
Thanks to this video, I tested and replaced a bad coil in my Dakota. Thank you for posting!
Thanks for the video. I just bought the same light and need to install it. Appreciate the tip on the sealant type.
Thank you!!!!!
Thanks for the info! About to do a bass guitar "Fender" speaker cabinet with the 6700 from Home Depot. I'll see if I can Vibrate the carpet off! Thanks for the drying time info (Long).
Good day, May I suggest updating your video notes to include the product name and perhaps a link to amazon or something. It makes it so much easier to find the product. Thank you very much for the video Cheers.
Plain ans smiple info thank you.
