How to add elastic to the neck of knitted tops and sweaters
มุมมอง 19K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is how to add elastic to the neckline of a knitted sweater. Yarn tends to stretch out over time, so this keeps the shape of the neckline how you like it. I ordered clear elastic string from amazon. You can use any elastic you want! The pattern is The Cotton Candy Tee from Kneedles & Life. Find the pattern here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cotton-candy-tee-2

Mermaid Tail Beanie YO and PO Stitch Tutorial
I used a barber cord and an extra knitting needle to do mine for the top this was demonstrated for (forgot to pack myself a hook and scrap yarn!!) It worked surprisingly well, albeit a little stiff to work with lol. Thanks!
That’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
Very lovely stitch!
I would love to see this in English knitting style.
is there a video for this top? if not can you please tell how you made the bottom part 🤍
Your video is easy to listen to and easy to follow. Thank you for a video well made and well edited .
Thank you Nancy!!
Thank you. I never knew how to do this cast on.
happy to help! thanks for watching
Best instructions so far glad she leads the yarn with the left hand. All the others doing everything with the right hand is confusing. Great bobbles here. Thank you!
Perfect! Thank you.
thank you
This is an awesome technique because when you close it t the end, it won't leave that big gap. Thank you for sharing!❤
Interesting! Do you have instructions on how to create this bobble while knitting flat? Thanks!
What is the shawl pattern ?!

@@kneedlesandlife thank you !
Excellent explanation, thank you so much!

Lovely! It is so peaceful to watch you work.
Thank you so much!
You knit like I do. I have been told it is OLD WORLD knitting. I have no idea if that is true or not. The way you hold your needles and do the stitch is just what I do. So simple.
Definitely my favorite way to knit! It's commonly called continental knitting. English style is holding the yarn in your right hand. :)
Continental knitting....that right. I knew it had another name. Not many use that style. Thanks!
That’s what I do also.
I have been wanting to do this.,. Can you please let me know the size of the string - .8mm, .5mm?
Great question! The elastic string I bought is 1mm
When I do it the pattern shows inside the circle instead of outside
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking
@@kneedlesandlife nevermind, I was looking at it the wrong way. It ended up being fine and I now have a neat pair of socks
Purl 2,bring yarn to the back, slip one St purlwise.
Great tutorial. TY so much! Making the Magnolia Bloom Cardigan, at the 1st bobble. Your way is much neater than some I’ve seen 😊
I’m going to try this on the stretched out cuffs of a cardigan - thank you!

Hello. On the video is that round four as that round starts with a yo on the pattern? I’m on round two and it starts with k2 then yo k2 po
I’m just showing you how to work the stitches, not the exact pattern. Follow whatever the pattern says!
What’s the pattern called?
Great tip! Thanks😊
Beautiful!
Very helpful,thankyou!
Wow so easy
Glad you think so!
Head up to you...your written pattern on Pinterest and your website, doesn't indicate that the stitches you slip are ALL done Purlwise... your video does.
There is a note right at the beginning of the pattern that says "ALL slip stitches are purl wise with the working yarn held in front."
this should work for knitted leg warmers too right?
Great tutorial. Thanks!
I'm finally at the point in my sock knitting journey where I want to start trying other heels / toes, so thank you for this great tutorial!
aw thank you so much!
I will be using this technique this evening. I’ll let ya know how it goes for me!

Thank you, Susan! Glad it helped!!
Thanks for the tutorial! And your knitting is beautiful!
Thank you!
I gave up on a bobble pattern this week, but this is a great demo so I will give it another go. Thank you!
