Kia Stinger fading/spotty window trim fix
I got frustrated and went through the process to figure out the best way to get rid of the crappy plastic coating on the window strips of the kia stinger. trust me, this process is the only real solution for reasons covered in the video.
cheers.

NASIOC Dragon Meet 2014 Deals Gap, NC. DJI Phantom FPV

My first attempt at a TH-cam video of my FPV footage. I'm using a Gopro Hero 1, DJI Phantom Quadcopter and FC40 camera (for FPV streaming) in this video. I have a cheap gimbal that I shorted out at the campsite at the beginning of the trip so all of the shots are just from the hard mounted gopro and FC40 cameras. Sorry about the shaking and jello effect, unfortunately I didn't have an isolation...

Whirlpool Refrigerator/freezer leak fix
มุมมอง 37K11 ปีที่แล้ว
You can follow the instructions in this video, they will work. However, Whirlpool part# w10619951 is the official fix for this problem. Whirlpool will pay for the full repair for units newer than 2 years and will still pay for the part for units older than 2 years. How to fix your over-under style whirlpool refrigerator's freezer leak. If you've ever found a sheet of ice on the bottom of your d...
So it's been 9 months now... Are they still good? Also thanks for the video!
Yup, they still look great! If they get a smudge I can clean it off with my shirt if I wanted - but I usually keep a microfiber cloth in my glovebox. It's just bare aluminum once you wipe off the plastic coating, easy as pie to clean and shine.
The strips on the hatch look difficult to remove without breaking them.
yeah they pop out - held in with plastic clips. Use a plastic tool. I hate to report that they actually come off too easily - just had to reinstall yesterday because my son tried to climb on the tire and grabbed onto the trim while the hatch was up and it popped off. Not going to break them, start from one end and peek under to see the clips and then pry from under the clip area to avoid any bending. The front/top part is held on by adhesive so you could start there.
I had mine boacked out instead
Can you please do another video showing how to remove the front and boot lid trim. Please, I don't want to damage anything
Thank you and will definitely try this. Have had the same problem on my 2019 GT2.
I did try to remove it and got frustrated, so I took it to the dealer and they replaced them all under warranty. It hasn't come back because my car now always sleeps inside the garage. Knock on wood so far. Anyhow, good info to know.
ah, I had mine replaced, it came back a year later so I did this. I should have made the video from the start of the project just to show how easy it is, but it's not easy if you don't know the trick to it. Fingers crossed for you man.
I'll have to try this. But first, do you know if the acetone will affect the trim, if the trim is bronze colored? Should you only use the acetone on plain aluminum trim?
acetone should ONLY be used on the aluminum once it's removed from the car for sure. Yeah if you touch your paint or the plastic trim it will ruin it. However, the aluminum trim on the back trunk has some rubber gasket material attached and I did not have an issue with the acetone making some contact with that from the cloth. Wet the cloth, rub on the aluminum with it fully removed. I had it on a big piece of cardboard in my garage far from the car, then I reinstalled.
Thank you for your tutorial. Those trim pieces have always been a problem.
Yup, and this trick fixes it for sure n here I am 4 months after doing it letting it sit out in the winter nastiness and they still shine. If a fingerprint gets on there I can just use my shirt and it's gone. So much better.
Does the rear strip come off the same way?
The rear hatch is the easiest overall, it's held on by clips all the way through so technically you could start anywhere. But start from the back and you'll feel where the clips are. As long as you don't bend the metal, you can be fairly aggressive. The plastic clips can break though, however it's easy enough to replace them or simply glue them back together with good liquid CA glue. That being said I didn't break any and neither should you unless you have a lot of dirt in there.
Thank you! Cleaned and trimmed that rubber piece now I'm letting the freezer thaw.
Can you please let me know if I'm supposed to clip the entire top part off? Also, does anyone know if the setup is the same for the GZ25FSRXYY2?
Just enough to open the slot which is getting clogged. Since I made the video, there's actually a repair kit they'll send to you for free. That being said, it is the same problem/setup and you just want the rubber spout look like this so it doesn't get clogged anymore. neighboursappliance.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Insulation_31.png
Had the freezer problem, first thought that it was a worn seal. Thanks for this information! The black plug was all blocked. Working fine now, plus I have a clean freezer :)
Thank you so much for making this video! That was driving me crazy!
by doing this, you will allow warm air into the bottom of the freezer area. the reason they put such a narrow channel was to prevent warm air from entering the freezer. THIS IS NOT A FIX YOU WANT TO DO. there is actually a kit made to replace the rubber sleeve, wp part number w10619951, install the kit rather the using the half assed way of clipping the boot
Thanks~ just made the rubber adjustment cut, chipped away the old ice in the bottom drawer, and my fingers crossed. Next project...
Thanks for this video
Thank you! Our refrigerator has been leaking for a few weeks now. When I saw the layer is ice that had formed on the floor of the freezer I just scraped it out and thought that would solve the issue. But not less than 24 hrs the layer of ice was back again! Thank you for the informative video! I'm going to do as you suggested.
Yeah you'll need to clip or even remove that rubber slot thing from the drain tube in the back like in the video THEN thaw the freezer so the backed-up water currently frozen and also plugging up the tube can drain out. Once both are done, you won't ever have another issue.
Figured I'd give an update, it's been over a year since I did this and there's not even the slightest hint of any leak in or outside of my refrigerator and has been running every day since I made this video (aside from a couple quick power outages over the winter.) B
Brandon- what's the best way to thaw out the freezer? Is the refrigerator still usable during the process?
I just put as much stuff from the freezer into a cooler with the remaining ice from the tray, left the refrigerator door closed but the freezer door open and unplugged the entire unit for a couple hours. I also had a small fan blowing into the freezer to help speed up the process. The main thing you want to thaw is actually the drain tube which is in the back, I bet if you put a fan on the part I show in the video on the back of the unit you could melt the ice in the tube much quicker. However, in just 2 hours, nothing thawed while in the cooler and nothing got warm in the refrigerator, it's pretty well insulated so either way works.
Thanks for taking so much time to capture your trip and a few glimpses of my ride :) TIL: I have a severely misaligned fog light!
Thank you!!
Thanks so much for sharing. The slit in my black tube thing was clogged as well. I prefer to fix little things like this myself.
Glad it works! It's been 4 months since I did mine and it works great still as well.
It's four months later (I never check my YT mail; sorry) and yep, the fridge is still working fine! Thanks for saving me a couple hundred bucks and waiting around for the repairman to arrive in his four-hour window.
Sorry for the delay everyone. This DOES work but you MUST thaw out the freezer after cutting or removing the boot. The water gets frozen in the tube clogging it after the boot backs the water up.
No,sorry to say it did not.... I was very encouraged to find that the little slit was indeed blocked with debris.... But in not to long a time, water began collecting and freezing at the base of the freezer and then melting close to the front and leaking onto the floor. Strange timing.....the repair man is coming on Thursday.
Like SoftwareSavesMe, thank you for your video. I found the slit nipple and cut it off, then broke out the ice formed in the bottom of the freezer. We're hoping it will stop the puddling on the floor.
Thanks! I gave it a try. . .now we'll see if it did the job. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
