    Oh two videos in one day from Lilly you really are too good to us , made me very happy and motivated 😊. Aww bless your daughter I hope she’s feeling a little less overwhelmed. My daughter knows if anything is moved even in the house she notices instantly . She always says she hates me cleaning her room because she never knows where anything is . I try to keep everything the same and do it when she is there. I get the same as you if I have been in social situations afterwards I just don’t want to do anything and also I often feel quite quiet for a few days . I will be coming on that journey with you as I really need help with improving my sleep as I’m a terrible sleeper and defiantly need some fitness in my life as my dr told me I need to do 10,000 steps a day . I started fly lady as well it’s been a life saver honestly , I’m getting quicker and the house seems cleaner ❤

      Glad you enjoyed! I ve actually learned that when it comes to toys having smaller boxes and baskets for specific toys (only one category) works best, the kids don’t pull too much out and it’s easier to put everything away. Whenever we’ve had bigger boxes it gets very messy, the kids find it difficult to find what they are looking for and it’s just generally disorganised.

    Well done Lilly you have nearly done the playroom and if in doubt , use nicks black bag method lol 😂 I’m the same when I go somewhere crowded and I don’t feel right for a few days . I hate driving in the dark as I hate car headlights they are just too bright for me . I hate balloons , fireworks , party poppers , Xmas crackers and you know when you take out the cork of a champagne bottle 🍾 I don’t like that sound either . Hope you feel a bit better soon and that you enjoyed your birthday ❤

      Hahaha that made me laugh so much, everyone always finds me so “weird” for being scared of balloons and fireworks and everything else you mentioned. I have astigmatism and bright lights during the day or night are very harsh for me. Driving on a wet sunny day is completely blinding for me. I don’t do well with flashing lights and no cool white lights allowed in our house. All of our lights are dimmable so I can adjust them whenever needed. Its not great for my videos but I am not here to be a content creator with beautifully edited videos, I am sharing real life, real advice and real life experiences to support people. I am slowly recharging, everyone has left now and I am a weird people who enjoys parties after they have ended 😆

I am very honest and open and always felt exposed and taken advantage of, so fewer close friends are better for me. It’s ok to be introvert and now that I am older I don’t push myself to act otherwise

    You did a good job and something is much better than nothing . I completely understand my kids are the same , my youngest cannot be left at all not even in the garden . I never know what he will do as he’s very impulsive , like your kids he has so much energy and he’s the same wants to spend the whole day in the garden which means no matter hot or cold I also have to go outside . Poor nick that’s a long journey for him .. I’m guessing he had to go on the m25 . How’s the playroom coming along ? ❤️

      My middle son has ADHD and he is impulsive, in his EHCP he is described as “unpredictable”, but I have to admit he has settled a lot in the last few months, but when it’s all 3 of them, especially when it’s just me … they wreck havoc. No one understands why they act so differently around me compared to everyone else. Some people will never comprehend masking. Playroom is still a complete disaster. I am focusing on it tonight and tomorrow morning but I am not stressing over it. We always have Nicks bin bags method to pull it off 🤣 He drove through London instead of M25, it’s less miles but pretty sure takes longer. He is “intolerant” to public transport otherwise it would have been one train to Waterloo and then jubilee line.

      Happy birthday Lilly ,hope you have a great day . My kids are the same completely different with me than other people . No one would ever believe he’s behaviour honestly , they tell me he’s well behaved at school . I asked his teacher if she talking about the same person as he really isn’t like that at home . I guess that’s because we are their safe space and can be themselves with us because we are their mum . No one really gets asd or adhd even tho they reckon they do . They defiantly mask even I do it a lot I know how to behave in social situations and mimic others and then when I’m home I’m different more relaxed. Even though I don’t know your exact location I was wondering what is taking him 2 hours I’m pretty sure driving through London than the m25 would be longer . Apparently there is delays on public transport in London as something to do with football at Wembley I don’t know exactly lol 😂

ADHD brains are amazing at times ,some days I can’t do anything and other days I could run a marathon like your low energy yesterday and you getting a lot done today . I think that’s the hyperactivity in us , I noticed when I feel hyper I have lots of energy . 😊

      In my experience ADHD can be either very physical or very psychological. If we can recognise and harness that energy it could work in our advantage (all the greatest people were neurodivergent). When it’s physical we have to be productive otherwise we become fidgety, restless and irritable. When it’s psychological we have to find a way to be creative otherwise we become anxious, overwhelmed and paralysed. Easily said in theory but learning to actually live with it takes a lot of practice, self awareness and discipline. Sadly, most people don’t even realise the effects on us and how to turn it around.

I am glad I picked myself up and did something productive, it genuinely eases my mental load and I don’t go to bed overwhelmed going through all the things I should have done but didn’t. It easy to revert back to old habits, after 35 years of living I am finally focusing on self discipline

      Your doing very well but just make sure you don’t have a burn out by doing too much . ADHD burn out is the worst . It’s ok to do small tasks if you’re not feeling up the challenge ❤️. I’m the same if I don’t do something then it bothers me I can’t stop thinking about it . The other day I wanted to cut the grass in the front garden but couldn’t and my husband is like it’s ok do it another day . I was saying but I can’t do it another day because it’s just going to bother me and every time I walk to the front door I’m gonna be reminded about it and that’s gonna stress me out 😂

      I am very familiar with the ADHD burn out, that’s why I didn’t do the whole routine and have been skipping unnecessary tasks from the book. My biggest trigger at the moment after the playroom is our garden. I am constantly nagging Nick that we need to hire someone to take all the old furniture and rubbish we have gathered on one side so he can paint it and clean it out … but Nick doesn’t do anything outdoorsy unless it’s nice hot weather, he keeps waiting for summer 😆 his excuse is that the kids side is all clean and usable the other half doesn’t matter and just can’t understand why it bugs me so much

      Haha the garden is one thing … he keeps the Christmas lights on all year round because there is no way he is going up the ladder in December and then again in January to deal with them 😂 It’s slowly getting better thanks to the Flylady’s 15 min room rescue and sorting out the clothes on the sofa and the corner by the desk. I am having a very productive day today, if I don’t run out of time I will try and finally clear the desk in todays video.

    Great video Lilly , what a really sweet comment ❤. You create good videos and show real life so people are gonna be able to relate to you. The comment about putting things in black bags and in the shed , made me smile because I do the same . However not in the shed but just upstairs in our bedroom or chucked in a cupboard somewhere , then it’s a nightmare because you got to get it out lol I’m getting better at keeping things tidy but Rome wasn’t built in a day as they say . I downloaded the fly lady app as you mentioned in your shorts this morning I think this will help me a lot 😊

      I like the flylady app, had it for a really long time. Mine is completely personalised I will do a video on the app and give my tips on using it. I am realising that unless you find a way to change routines around to fit your house and your lifestyle nothing works 100% and it’s hard to stick to.

      That would be a great video . I must admit I did change a few things on the app as there is a few things on it that wouldn’t work for me. I need a routine but as soon as I think routine I feel overwhelmed and don’t want to stick to it so I’m gonna think of it as a to do list . I have heard people say about the organised mum method doesn’t work for them but to be honest Gemma does say change it to work for you . ☺️

    Great video Lilly , your doing well . I am exactly the same with laundry , dishes and I never use to make the bed . I make myself make the bed and I really feel better walking in the bedroom , it feels tidier . When you’re a perfectionist it is so hard to let go of said perfectionism, it’s taken me such a long time to do.

      Thank you ❤️ when I first started this challenge and making the beds everyone at home was complaining. I accidentally found a way to just straighten the kids duvets so they can slide under ready for sleep and now they love it. Nick on the other hand … absolutely hates having to do upstairs late in the evening and tired and the bed needs “unmaking” 😆

      You can do it! It’s a work in progress for me too. Don’t be deceived, I only filmed one basket full of laundry because that’s all I got done today, but it’s folded and put away, the rest is still patiently waiting on the sofa 😆 at least the pile is smaller than it was in the morning and that’s the whole point of the video, small progress

      It’s start even if it’s just one basket it’s baby steps and we will get there eventually. You can do it too , we are in it together . For me I use to have washing everywhere , folded ironed and cleaned but it was all on the table and just sat there for weeks . Then I bought a laundry basket for the clean washing and once it’s filled I take it upstairs . It still sits downstairs but it’s not everywhere like it was , it’s improving but baby steps . 😊

      Laundry had always been my biggest struggle, followed by dishes and paperwork … toys I am not going to even talk about, but now my kids are a bit older and it’s easier, especially now that there is a separate room I have just close the door to and pretend they don’t exist. In our previous house the living room and their bedroom were constantly overrun

    Hope your feeling less anxious now Lilly ❤. You was very productive today , little and often seems to be the way forward . I changed my son’s bed today , did two loads of laundry , washed up and got clothes ready for tomorrow that’s I could achieve today . I’m going to do a to do list for tomorrow as I don’t feel very productive during the day 😊

      You have done a lot. Before the challenge all I could manage on Sundays was changing bedsheets, my kids room is so difficult that just putting the fitted sheet in the top bunk felt like too big of a job. Between this challenge and the Flylady’s baby steps, I already know 100% for sure that flylady works better for me, a lot more manageable and sustainable long term. Yes, I feel better, thank you. It just feels so much worse to see kids struggle. It has motivated me to dedicate one day a week for a mental health related video. Have to work out my schedule and the logistics first. Many people have said to me that living with neurodivergence can be a very lonely experience and I want my little community to feel seen, understood and accepted.

      A few years ago I never achieved anything and my mental health wasn’t great . I realised because the house was a nightmare it was really affecting my mental health . I found the organised mum method , I do follow this loosely and do try to keep to it but it’s hard. Your comment made me smile as I realised I have come a long way from a few years ago . However don’t be fooled lol that was done under pressure a hour before the kids had to go to bed . All day I could have done it but I didn’t do anything I couldn’t get started . Then an hour before the kids went to bed I thought I better do something and tried to do as much as I could do . The two loads of laundry were done on a rapid wash as I realised I forgot to wash their uniforms so yeah it sounds like I did a lot and have my life together but I just wing it most of the time . I washed all the plates etc but I don’t have anything left in the drawer as I haven’t put it away and we are drying up as we go along . At least I have done something no matter how was achieved I guess . It’s horrible when the kids are finding things difficult this defiantly makes my anxiety worse . Being neurodivergent is defiantly hard and really can be a lonely thing at times . ☺️

      @@user-yb1kc7hr4m well I am the same, the other day you all watched me wash the kids sheets but I didn’t get to put them on until bed time, and that would have been very delayed because of how long it takes me if I didn’t have Nick around to divide and conquer. I know that not all mums and dads have a supportive partner to help and my heart truly goes out to them. I ve been trying to catch up on all the laundry and just dumping everything on the sofa … today I hit full blown panic attack because I had no ironed uniforms and had to dig into the pile looking for 3 sets of different sizes and Noah’s football kit. It got me the kick I needed to finally start folding it all today (coming in todays video) I am not going through the same panic tomorrow 😂

    I was tempted to do the book with you but after watching you I felt it would be too much for me . I like the look of the fly lady steps they seem manageable and looks like a lot of self care too. I’m the same I need a routine of someone to tell me when to clean something and how often otherwise I have no idea what I am doing . I don’t get cleaning at all it’s a struggle . It will be good to see what you have found that works for you 😊

      I know, even with a routine it’s hard. I ve been doing maintenance everyday and recording it and my house still gets messy, it just doesn’t stop. There is another book I read as part of my research “unf***k your habitat”, I will do a video on it soon because it shares very interesting insights as to why people find it difficult, the repetitiveness of tasks being one of the reasons. Every approach has pros and cons but because we are all so diverse, different systems work for different people, unfortunately there is no “one size fits all” solution to adulting and life in general.

      That must feel demotivating in a way as your sticking to something and things are still messy . You really have done well tho your defiantly motivating me . That sounds really interesting that book I would be interested in that. Your right there isn’t one size fits all as I have seen some tips that people with adhd say help them and I think oh yeah that would work for me and other tips I look at and no that wouldn’t work for me at all . Like Remi was saying that one day a week she wakes up at 6 and cleans each room for 10 mins . I would never be able to do that , it wouldn’t work for me at all

      @@user-yb1kc7hr4m Remi’s rooms will take me a whole day each. I find early morning very difficult, I need time to wake up and get my head together. In an ideal world I would be waking up to a tidy home, that sets me off on a positive note for the whole day. However, it doesn’t always work out. I am most physically productive during the day, if I start straight after breakfast before I get too distracted with other things. In the evenings I am done, I can’t be bothered to get up and do anything, but that’s the time when I am intellectually most focused, since school time I ve always found it easier to do my reading and homework in the evening.

      Yeah I’m the same I can’t do mornings I can’t motivate myself at all .i struggle to get myself ready and out the door . However at night I’m much better and can get more done and that just woks for me better

      It was supposed to be “thrive on strive”, tongue twister 😆 I meant that I ve always felt most accomplished and validated when I ve pushed myself beyond my limits. I was raised as an overachiever and if I am less than perfect I felt like a failure and believed that my loved ones will see me in a negative light. It’s not a healthy attitude because struggling to perfect everything and outdo yourself every time leads to overwhelming burnout and I only realised that negative trait of mine after I crashed and burned. Now I try to enjoy more mindful slow living.

      My mum was very competitive and always pushed me to do better. I had to have the highest grades, work extra hard to be on top of the class in all subjects, get main roles in school plays and extra curriculum classes. If anyone was to do better I am sure she felt very disappointed. As an adult I know she meant well and just the wanted the best for me, but it was definitely the wrong approach and seriously affected my self worth

    Great video as always . You have really done a good job . How do you feel now you have done it ? I never met someone I could relate to like I can you . I feel like we are very alike in ways . Both my children have asd and I have always felt completely different to other people but no idea why . I was looking at adhd one day and thought oh I think I may have that and I was diagnosed with adhd and asd as an adult . Like you was saying you couldn’t understand why you couldn’t do certain things I was exactly like this as well . I have suffered with depression on and off and I really struggle with anxiety too . I have pcos as well and they said it was connected to adhd too . Recently I have been looking at how to manage life better with being neurodivergent and looked at different people with are also neurodivergent and how they manage it . That’s how I come across your channel and I think if you write a book you would defiantly help a lot of people. With the make up and the overbuying it’s because we are trying to get the dopamine . Mine is more around food when I’m struggling I binge eat . ❤

      I binge as well especially when I am anxious and stressed. I didn’t just gain 150lb out of nowhere, I know what I’ve done wrong but reversing it has proved to be a lot more challenging than I though. It feels good now that it’s done, I also feel a bit silly over the fact that it has taken me nearly 2 years to get myself to fix it and then in just few days it was done. If I could have pushed myself few months ago it would have saved me a lot of stress and anxiety. I had a rare good nights sleep but can’t tell if it was because of the tidy room or just being very tired. I will be testing a few different tips and ideas on improving sleep and will share that in a video soon. If more people felt comfortable and safe to share their experiences, people like us won’t feel so alone.

      I am the same , I really have put quite a bit of weight on but trying to lose it , it is very difficult. I am glad you managed to do your bedroom as most of the time it’s difficult to start something rather than the task itself . I don’t know if you already watch her but there is someone who is on TH-cam and TikTok . She’s called Remi Clog she does cleaning videos, she has adhd and often talks about the struggles 😊

      I love Remi Clog, I have rewatched all of her videos multiple times. The biggest difference between us that she is really fast, she gets so much done. I am slow, I can’t get my head around how she clears a whole messy room in 10 minutes, it will take me a whole day

    Well done Lilly your doing great . The overwhelm is a real struggle isn’t it . I do the school run , come home and think right I’m gonna do this and come 1-1.30 I think better do it now or I never will . Do you ever reward yourself if you have done a task if not how do you motivate yourself ? 😊

      I do, but sometimes I reward myself even without doing the task 😳 It’s really difficult, there are days when I just can’t convince myself to get up, I would literally do anything to procrastinate on the one thing I am supposed to do (and when I eventually get it done I feel super silly - oh this really wasn’t as bad as I thought, why did I torture myself with anxiety?) How do you motivate yourself? At the moment this channel is really helping me because I feel responsible to show up and get it done, I ve always performed best when held accountable because I have a weird fear of failure/disappointing others. As a social researcher I have made it my mission to experiment with all the tips and tricks and hacks that come my way and find something that works for me and hopefully others too. I will talk more about it in my next video coming on Friday or Saturday.

      I could have wrote this myself . I also perform much better under pressure and if someone is holding me accountable if someone keeps asking if I have done something , then I will do it . I know it’s hard to get up and do something . I really like watching k dramas on Netflix if there is something I’m interested in and I really want to watch .I tell myself do this for 10 mins and put a timer on and then you can watch 20 mins of whatever I was watching . Sometimes when I feel a bit motivated I will write down a done list of the tasks I have completed as this will motivate me to continue . I follow the organised mum method and every room she says to do for 30 mins if I really don’t have the energy to do this then I will just do 10 mins . Better to do a bit than not at all . If I’m having a really bad day or bad week I will write a list of what really needs doing even if it’s just two tasks . I’m always looking at ways to make life simpler so I would be really interested in that video .

      I got them from Amazon, they are natural and my daughter’s primary school allows her to bring them in without being treated as medicinal and “administered” by teaching staff. I have tried rescue remedy drops and it works well too. amzn.eu/d/4lEHZPR

    Greet video as always , lots of motivation . I struggle with cleaning as my brain doesn’t get when I need to clean and how often . Either I clean too much or not at all . Then I think why do I clean if I need to clean it again or why do I need to clean if it’s not dirty 😊

      It’s like you are reading my mind. I am either deep cleaning or blissfully ignoring the mess until it annoys me enough to deep clean the whole room, meanwhile the other rooms are getting trashed. Maintain a daily routine has helped a lot, I just don’t know if I will be able to stick to it. Without this channel to hold me accountable I would have given up by day 3
